Today Swedish newspapers are reporting that Chatrine Zeta Jones has been offerd a role in the soon to be made 21 james Bond film.

The title of the movie is Everything or nothing.

She is reported to be very interested in the picture and have asked her friend Sean Connery for advice.

If the carracter is more independent then useuel she will take the role.

If you can read swedish :)

A few days back Zeta Jones' publicist denied the rumours. The Swedish newspapers are a few days late on this one :)

Hi The JB,

I really do not think that Catherine Zeta-Jones would ever appear in a Bond film.

She is pretty gorgeous but I don't think he has what it takes and 'all that jazz'. ( sorry had to say that ).

Cheers,

Ian

She runs to Sean Connery for advice? I don't buy it. "Hey, Sean, what's the deal with these James Bond films?" "Well, Catherine, it's a series about a British spy, but don't forget that I played the lead in six films, while the role you're being offered is that of the leading lady in just one film. And I wouldn't work for Eon if I were you - they're bloodsuckers." "Oh, okay, Sean, thanks."

The only "advice" Zeta-Jones would need on whether to accept or decline an offer is financial. The really important questions would be [A] "Are they offering me enough money?" and (regardless of the answer to [A]) [B] "Is there any possible way they'd offer me more?"

Still, I personally don't think it's out of the question that Zeta-Jones has been approached for BOND 21.

You may (the cheque's in the post).:)

As for whether Ms Maneater-Jones would ever actually appear in a Bond flick, you could well be right in supposing that she wouldn't. She may just want to do more Oscar-chasing.

That would be wonderful. I don't want to see "Bond girls", I want to see "Bond women"!

Talking of which (http://entertainment...255Enbv,00.html):

"Catherine wants to play a strong character who's an equal to 007 and not a bitchy villain - maybe even a kind of female Bond," Teen Hollywood's movie source added.

I. haven't. seen. that. before.

An equal? Wow. I read something similar previously, considered putting it on the main page to scorn, then asked myself why should I bother? It gets kinda tiresome whacking up every half-baked rumour churned out of some hack's brain.

Time to see Bond back where he belongs: In the bloody limelight, and not sharing it with another female 'equivalent'

Everything or Nothing is the title of a James Bond console game by Electronic Arts that it expected to be released in early 2004. In order to use the title, EA needed to get permission for a title Eon Production was not planning to use for a future James Bond film. So I think that the likelihood that the title of Bond XXI being Everything or Nothing is slim to none.

Catherine Zeta-Jones has been a Bond girl favorite in the rumor mill for a number of years and the press has run stories for years that she is the next James Bond girl or the next James Bond. But isn't Zeta-Jones making Zorro 2 about the same time that Bond XXI will be in production?

Hope this one ain't another pointless rumor. I bet it is though. After I read the thread, I did a google on Catherine Zeta Jones and Bond Girl. I got a link that showed she was actually doing a screen test for DAD. Was she supposed to play Miranda? Or Jinx?

Interesting though, if she would have wound up in DAD. Does anyone else think she would've been a good addition to DAD, either as Jinx or Ms. Frost?

I think she's over exposed. Can we have a non celebrity Bond girl? There are plenty of beautiful women in this world we haven't seen on screen that would make a great contribution to the series.

No.

The suits at MGM wouldn't trust us to respond favourably to a woman who hadn't over a reasonably long period been forced down our throats as the best thing since sliced bread.

It's out of the question, I'm afraid. We can't make up our own minds - The Powers That Be must do the thinking for us. These days, we have to be told who the megastars are: Ben Affleck, Jennifer Lopez, Gwyneth Paltrow, Brad Pitt.... and even when we stay away from their offerings in droves (GIGLI) it doesn't make any difference - they're still megastars. We're wrong and they're right.

Expect someone like J-Lo, "Gwynnie", Salma Hayek or Catherine Zeta-Jones as the "main" Bond girl in BOND 21.

Lately, pleasant rumors floating about in my life have been fiercely denied and then suddenly proven true. Hopefully this will be another. I've been a big CZJ fan for many years, and I would absolutely love to see her in a Bond film. I've yet to see a film of hers that I don't like, and I am thrilled about her success with 'Chicago.' I don't really see how she is 'Oscar-chasing' or anything like that. She is staring opposite Tom Hanks in a Speilberg drama, but I hardly think that makes her an Oscar-chaser. It's a part that any leading lady would be interested in. She did 'Intolerable Cruelty' which wasn't really Oscar material, and she is working on two action flicks that won't catch Oscar's eye either. I just don't think she is as bad as most people and the press make her out to be. And just for the record, I really did not like Renee in 'Chicago'. I usually adore her, but she looked horrible, and her performances were not up to par with Catherine's.

I suppose you she would be alright, however, I wouldn't want her to be the 'main' Bond girl, but a supporting role perhaps. I'm into finding another unknown, and exposing her to the spotlight in true Bond style. That's one thing the Bond film series does quite well. We'll have to wait for the future...

The last perfect bond woman casting was goldeneye, onatop and natalyia. TWINE was good for solphie masaue, but denish richards was a no no.

DAD, we didn't need berry, Rosamund pike was great casting.

Bond woman casting, is better mostly with unknown women cropping up.

Monica Belluci is more famous now, but she was meant to be in TND at some point, I would prefer her in Bond 21, and she's more beautiful, and better personality then Zeta jones, better actress.

I'm with you Feral. I would love to see CZJ as a Bond girl but not another "female Bond" please. There's only room for 1 James Bond per James Bond film IMHO. If CZJ does play a Bond girl, I would like her to play a character that is initially a villainess who Bond has to woo and win over to his side in order to accomplish his mission, kinda like Pussy Galore, Solitaire and(to a certain extent) Octopussy. The script could play up the tension between her and Bond and she and Brosnan would probably generate strong on-screen sparks.

There's that CZ-J rumour again. If I'm not mistaken, this came up during the making of DAD as well. I really do not want another high-profile actress to take the main Bond girl lead again, because they'll just want to have the Female Bond role, or they won't do the film. Give us a little-known actress like Famke or Izabella Scorupco (pre-GE, anyway). This is a BOND movie, not a movie about the battle of the sexes or the Bond-Meets-His-Match film.

Shes hot! I dont care what anybody says. But I dont want the next bond girl to be independent. It kinda ruins the point of having a bond girl. She doesnt have to be a total ditz or have no strengths, but I want a bond girl that relies on bond.

Yes, I somewhat agree. I think Rosamund Pike says it best: "I don't want to be called a Bond woman. I want to be a Bond girl. It's more fun."

Good spirit! Although, I love the independence as well.

Oh. I'd like them to select an unknown perhaps. I' always like the choices usually when they do that.
