Anyone familiar with my other recent post would know I just became the proud owner of a 2nd hand N64 and a copy of Goldeneye.

I'm pretty much new to all aspects of N64 gaming, can anyone tell me if a rumble pack is worth getting for playing Goldeneye? Does it add to the gaming fun? :)

It's purely a matter of preference. Do you like the controller to vibrate while you are playing the game? I find it quite annoying and would not spend any money for the option.

Believe me it's not worth it. Far different to actually having it in the controller like the Playstation controllers, this concept doesn't really work. I find it clumsy and annoying.
I'd say borrow one first and see if you like it or not.

Good idea. I know a couple of friends with N64 units so I'll try before I buy! Thanks for the advice.

Personally I loved using the rumble packs when I was playing on my friends N64. I think "rumble packs" for any system are great. But maybe it really is preference; I'm surprised by the above negative comments about the rumble packs. Do possibly try one out first at a friend

Congrats on your recent purchases Wilbs. It's been around for a few years, but I still like my Nintendo 64. GoldenEye is still by far the best James Bond game, and one of the best games period. You're in for hours of fun.

As for buying a rumble pack, personally, I think the money would be better spent on three more controllers so you can get your friends over for some GoldenEye 64 multiplayer, which is really the best part of the game.

Try the rumble packs before you buy, if possible. It's a matter of preference, I'd say.

But if said money could be spent on said extra controllers, as per said suggestion, do it. Three mates, four controllers and a GoldenEye cartridge is the most fun anyone can have with a Nintendo 64.

I do not care for using the rumble packs when i'm gaming on any system. Personally I find them annoying and a waste of money.

I find them useful depending on the game that they are used for. However, I completely destest them for use on any Bond game.

I liked it. Gave the controller a little more weight and vibration when you get shot is just really cool. Besides I'm sure a rumble pack is way cheap these days. Just buy one.

Rumble packs are great except for one thing, the added weight. It feels like the controller is two times heavier.
