Do you own any of the James Bond remastered soundtracks and/or the soundtrack for LTK, TND, TWINE, DAD? If so, please list them in the order of the film's release.

Righty007:

1. Live and Let Die
2. The Spy Who Loved Me
3. A View To A Kill
4. The World Is Not Enough
5. Die Another Day

Does anyone have any recommendations on which soundtrack I should buy next? I was thinking On Her Majesty's Secret Service, is that any good? Thanks.

After listing the soundtracks you own, you can post anything else relating to the remastered soundtracks here.

1. From Russia With Love
2. Goldfinger
3. On Her Majesty's Secret Service
4. Goldeneye
5. Tomorrow Never Dies
6. And coming soon: The Living Daylights

I really like OHMSS (I listen to it often) but I have the original and unremastered edition, which is minus many tracks. Does anybody think I should buy the remastered edition? It has at least five more tracks (and good ones at that).

Oh, and Righty, you say you have AVTAK? I'm not an expert but I thought that was only released in Japan or something.

The Spy Who Loved Me
Moonraker

OHMSS is a definite must, righty007, along with the other expanded issues: GF, TB, YOLT, and DAF.

Once you have these expanded titles you really should try (monetary aspect a major consideration of course) and complete the set with FYEO and TLD. I know these are no diferent to earlier Ryko releases but they do complete the whole set.

Today, I bought the Diamonds Are Forever soundtrack because most of the other soundtracks at the store were ruined due to water damage.

Are you getting ripped off if you pay more than US $11.99 for a new James Bond 007 remastered CD?

Not really. They're all budget releases, but extremely well put-together ones. I'd say that if you paid anything more than $15 you'd be paying too much. I think I nabbed mine for $12 or $13 at the most.

Anyway, here's my Bond music collection:

Goldfinger (original + UK LP bonus tracks)
Thunderball (original + "Thunderball Suite sections - personal CD)
You Only Live Twice
On Her Majesty's Secret Service
Diamonds are Forever
Live and Let Die
The Man With the Golden Gun (original)
A View to a Kill (Japanese Import CD)
The Living Daylights
GoldenEye (original release + personal suite CD with film version of title song, Nic Raine recording of "Tank Chase")
Tomorrow Never Dies (AMC original release, Chapter III score re-release, and Nerys007 CDR release of complete score)
The World is Not Enough
Die Another Day (original release + personal suite CD with DVD-extracted cues)

Other:
The Best of James Bond: 30th Anniversery (1992)
The Best of James Bond (1999)
The Best of James Bond: 40th Anniversery (2002)
Shaken and Stirred
Bond Back in Action 2
Basie Meets Bond
The Sex Mob Does James Bond
The Film Music of John Barry

What are the extra tracks on Goldfinger and Thunderball?

Are they 'never heard before' tracks, or are some of them found on the 30th anniversary CD?

General Koskov, you should pick up a copy of Film Score Monthly on newstands now. The one with the Hulk and Arnold on the front cover. Actually it is a 2 part story but they have a great article on how the remastering was done, what tracks were in, and why others were not chosen. Chapters or McNally on Grant Ave. should still have a copy until the end of the month. I know it is rather hard to find, I thought I missed it, but I did manage to get both issues. I posted here before about this in a thread. Since you are asking about GF and TB the 1st issue is the April/May issue is the one you want and unfortunately I don't think you will find it.
By the way I only bought the 40th ann (GF, TB, YOLT, OHMSS, DAF and LALD) since I own all of them.

If any1 is interested, Barry's wonderfully rich score to Dances With Wolves, is being re-released yet again - this time with almost 20 minutes of never before released cues from the extended film. Release date October 2003.

My Remastered Soundtrack collection on CD:

From Russia with Love
Goldfinger
Thunderball
You Only Live Twice
Diamonds Are Forever
Live and Let Die
Man with the Golden Gun
The Spy Who Loved Me
Moonraker
For Your Eyes Only
Octopussy
The Living Daylights

A local store had a good deal on the soundtracks on CD, $10.99 each, so I thought that I would replace my worn out casettes and LPs. I haven't picked up "A View to a Kill" yet, and I am still debating if I am going to get "Dr. No".

Regarding the On Her Majesty's Secret Service Remastered CD, get it! If you have the previous soundtrack release, replace it with the Remastered CD. The bonus tracks are some of my favorite tracks in the entire soundtrack, and include:

"Gumbold's Safe"
"Who Will Buy My Yesterday's"
"Blofeld's Plot"

These are the best compositions in the entire soundtrack. I cannot believe that it has taken this long to get them. I realize that they couldn't include all of the music in the original soundtrack release in 1969, but you would think that they would have issued the complete soundtrack before 34 years had passed.

The Man With The Golden Gun

Die Another Day

I also recently bought the (1992) James Bond 30th Anniversary 2-CD Limited Edition Set.
I LOVE THOSE BONUS TRACKS! Mr. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang by Dionne Warwick and also by Shirley Bassey is just screaming excitement.
I also love the version of You Only Live Twice by Julie Christie (although the album credits her as 'demo title'. It's a slow slow, but her powerful voice at the end is perfect.

You can imagine how cool it was to acquire that soundtrack 11 years ago when it brand new. I got it for my birthday and that second CD was mind-blowing. Here were tracks a lot of us didn't have any access to before as well as demos and things. It really whetted the appetite for more. Too bad it took so long, but it's beter late than never.

Turn that Best of James Bond 30th Anniversary Edition two CD set was pretty cool when it came out. It was one of my favorites in my CD collection and it was stolen along with my other CDs and my car one Friday night.

Thank goodness they put the previously unreleased tracks from Thunderball onto the remastered soundtrack CD.

"Mr. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang" by Shirley Bassey and then Dione Warwick was pretty interesting.

Soundtracks:

- On Her Majesty's Secret Service *NEW*
- Diamonds Are Forever
- Live and Let Die
- The Spy Who Loved Me
- A View To A Kill
- The World Is Not Enough
- Die Another Day

Other:

- The Best of James Bond: 30th Anniversery (1992)

Questions:

1. Are they planning on re-releasing the TND, TWINE, and DAD soundtracks to match the rest of the collection?

2. Have they tried to buy the rights to the LTK soundtrack so that it can be re-released in the remastered collection?

I doubt the Brosnan films post-GoldenEye will be re-released on the EMI label. AMC and the now bankrupt Chapter III records owns Tomorrow Never Dies. MCA owns The World is Not Enough. Maverick owns Die Another Day.

Of the remastered soundtracks I own:
Octopussy, A View To A Kill, The Living Daylights and GoldenEye (and The Spy Who Loved Me is on order at the moment).

And I also own:
On Her Majesty's Secret Service, Diamonds Are Forever, Live And Let Die, The David Arnold project and The Best of Bond...James Bond ('97 and '01 editions).

The Goldfinger tracks add the cues that once were in the UK LP pressing (which appeared in the 30th Anniversary Ultra Set). It also fixes the 'Into Miami' cue into its proper place; immediately after the main titles.

Most of the remastered Thunderball soundtrack adds music from the 'Thunderball Suite' in the 30th Anniversary Ultra Set, plus a few cues appearing for the first time.

...Actually that's Julie Rogers doing Barry's first attempt at a YOLT main title. From Geoff Leonard's excellent Barry website:

"However, Graham Rye, is not a man to be defeated by any Bond mystery, and after a few plays of the song he was convinced that the singer was Julie Rogers, best known in the UK for her hit
