The wonderful British actor Douglas Wilmer, who played Jim Fanning in Octopussy, has passed away, aged 96.

Also a wonderful Sherlock Holmes on the BBC in the mid 1960s. And did a funny little cameo on the modern Sherlock series, also on the BBC.

Think he also worked alongside Moore in the TV Saint.
Loved his performance in Octopussy.

It's hard to believe he was only in two scenes in OP. He conveyed so much character.

Aw how did I miss this? Such a shame. I loved his chemistry with Roger during his few scenes. A really charming actor who always makes me smile when he's on screen.
