Discussing Hinx's demise got me thinking of another character that died but I had reservations.

Was there ever any doubts  Valentin Dmitrovich Zukovsky dead in TWINE?

I searched the forums but could not found nothing. Was there even a CBn in 1999?

If my memory serves me well - wasn't he left bloodied on the floor after shooting Bond free from the torture chair? In my view, he could still be out there somewhere. If he managed to survive an injury to the knee sustained from Bond previously then surely he can survive more?

Very much agreed.  Didn't think that there was any debate around that one, as the film made it pretty clear, I thought.

As a mackerel.

Rumours persist because there was a deleted scene wherein Bond checked his pulse before diving out the window, but even that was meant to be inconclusive.

One of the things I wish Apted had shown was a hint of Zukovsky surviving Goldie's bomb.  In SPECTRE we see Hinx's fingers move after crashing through a car window.  TWINE gives us no such Deus-Ex Machina countdown foreshadowing his return.

Oh well.  You only die twice!

Pointless reply, but yes....I feel he died too after that shot.  :)

Yes he looks pretty dead at that point but of course, returns.

There are a couple of other dodgily edited bits in the movies where it looks like someone else got hit.

M looks like he got punched in LTK when he meets Bond at Hemingway House, and M looks like she got shot in QOS after the interrogation of Mr White.

Similarly, Colonel Moon looks like he gets shot a few times during the fight on the hovercraft but isn't hit at all.
