Blu-Ray.com seem to have 22nd Febuary has a solid release date??? I'm not too sure how reliable they are but i've been a frequent visitor in the past and they seem quite reliable.

It's listed on Base and Amazon, too along with an Exclusive Steelbook - obviously not the final artwork. So expect an offical release date soon, along with some sort of special features listing.

That would seem to be a pretty good estimate for the release date. Skyfall had a mid-February release date back in 2013, so it would stand to reason that SPECTRE would get a similar release date.

For Australia, the Skyfall DVD was released 27th March 2013, so I would expect a similar time for us down under.

JBHiFi has it listed for pre-order with a release date of 09/03/2016.

They've got the standard DVD and Blu-Ray as well as exclusive Steelbook Blu-Ray, which hopefully they do properly and have a slip and not put the ACB classification directly on the cover like a few other movies have.

Thanks for the info, can't wait to add SPECTRE to my completed Bond collection. I'm hoping to find the Steelbook somewhere, Still not sure if I should get NSNA since it was Non-Eon but being a Bond fan I think I might get it just for the sake if anyone ever wants to see it.

Steelbooks do nothing for me. I'd just like some exclusive content, not reheated webisodes and 2-minute behind the scenes add-ons.

Sadly, this is the norm these days. But a recent example is what Target offered with MI: Rogue Nation including several behind the scenes features and an exclusive booklet. It's just nice to have the choices if you want extra content. I'm willing to spring extra for that and others can have less or can put their extra into a steelbook edition if they choose. Why does a series as big as Bond have to go for the one-size-fits-all these days?

Pretty naff bonus features, and I bet we've seen them all already, which is nothing really surprising since 'CR'.

They don't bother with them on many releases these days by the looks of it

There's no reason for them to when they know that people will buy the movie again when they re-release it later with more extras.

Special features are now a lost art I'm afraid. What's worse is that tdalton is right, that's the reason - they don't need to bother.

But the box sets didn´t really offer anything better for the Craig films either.  Hard to believe this will change when the new era begins.

I wonder why Mendes couldn´t even be bothered to supply an audio commentary.

I don't really bother with the bonus features on Blu-rays anymore, to be honest. I just watch the film in question and then watch something else.

That's the other part of it as well.  I don't care at all about bonus features anymore either.

If people are really up in arms about not having them, though, they should stop buying the Blu-ray/DVDs and voice their opinions to MGM/Sony/FOX/EON that the reason they are not doing so is because of a lack of them.  I'm more than happy to get my copy of SPECTRE when it's released and have that be the only copy of the film that I own.  Now that the films are on Blu-ray, they're not getting another double-dip out of me.  It's one and done from here out.

And fair enough too. The only bonus features that really ever concern me are deleted scenes, if any ever exist.

German release date has been confirmed today for March 3rd.

Bonus material on Blu-ray and DVD seem to be the same as the English versions (the German press release also mentions the trailer for the Blu-ray, of wich I assume that it'll be on the English versions, too).

Germany will also get a Blu-ray steelbook edition (cover artwork will be the bullet teaser) which will have a bonus DVD(!) containing a documentary "From title song to title animation", "The Shadow of SPECTRE" and the WOTW video).

So the UK release is about two weeks after the US? Or is the February 9 date for the US that everyone's offering (including Amazon) bogus?

They're pretty generous by DVD standards!

Shame it'll be all on one disc again, and therefore messing up the compression of the feature film again... I should invest in the BluRays.

Yes. Per Sony US - SPECTRE will be released digitally on January 22 and on DVD and Blu-ray on February 9

This is just another example of extorting the fans.

First up, a bare bones release; second release, one with a commentary track and a frw more previously seen extras; thirdly, inclusion of many made-for-blu-ray extras; fourthly, and-so-on.

I doubt that there's a commentary track coming.  With all of the problems that this film had during pre-production, I doubt that they're going to sit down and do a commentary where a lot of what they might have to say will be negative.

I also don't think that this is "extorting" the fans.  Nobody has to buy the film.  It might get another release down the line, it might not.  We're still waiting on that supposed special edition of Quantum of Solace that's never seen the light of day.  Even if it does get another release, it's not like the pre-Craig films in the franchise, which have seen multiple releases and re-releases on both the DVD and Blu-ray formats.

The Sam Mendes commentary for Skyfall was the best I've ever heard. Shame there doesn't seem to be another one on the way.

Never heard the SF commentary as I am still on DVD.

But his commentary for American Beauty was truly splendid.

As is his commentary for Road To Perdition. Mendes is always very insightful when he discusses his work.

Agreed, they don't NEED to provide many extras... However, the word that springs to mind re these is 'lame' and I'm disappointed that, given the scale of production these films entail, that they rightly go on about, they can't be bothered to give the fans an insight.

The one hour making of documentary on the DAD DVD remains one of the most interesting extras they've given us that I can recall. Plus, as some have said, Mendes commentary on Skyfall.

I really think that they're shying away from the extras, and more specifically the commentary, because of the troubled production of the film.  Even if we got a commentary, I would imagine that it would gloss over the script and other problems (if they were mentioned at all) and be a rather artificial back-slapping session where everything was wonderful and everybody got along, something we know not to be true.

I believe you´re right.

I actually buy blu ray-discs mainly for the pristine film presentation.  But I´d rather have SONY come out and say: this is a bare bones-release, instead of advertising proudly: lots of special features... and then you notice it´s just the vlogs.

All the Craig-Bonds must have lots of deleted scenes - and those I would have loved to see.

when CR first came out i went out and got it, with few extra's, then they released a better version later. So i never did get QOS , waiting for  a deluxe version. Skyfall i bought on the first day. I watched it  a couple of times, but by the end of the year they were selling it for about a quarter of the price on sale. I won't be getting Spectre for that reason, plus i didn't care that much for it.
