Just a few sentences on the film.... I'll expand this when I get the chance.
enjoyed it, although underwhelmed by the final couple acts.
The Tangiers stuff prior to Blofeld was great... my favorite moment in the film being Bond hesitating when finding Vesper's interrogation tape. Poignant acting from Craig. Top notch. ( felt it would have been nice to have had just a hint of Vesper's piano theme played briefly, but I know why it wasn't done)
A missed moment during the car chase... in the Vatican section of the chase when the cars enter the Piazza San Pietro... there was an opportunity for an all-time classic shot of the piazza and the cars racing through it... instead we just get closeups of the cars. What a shame.
Bond and Lucia at her villa... another moment of visceral acting from Craig. This was Fleming's Bond through and through. Aggressive sexuality.
The torture scene was a waste. Pointless really, as it had no effect on Bond whatsoever. (I haven't read Colonel Sun in ages, so I don't remember the scene in the book)
I HATE when they use CGI buildings in movies that are grounded in present reality. (the new intelligence building across from the old mi6)
The finale was just too conveniently set up, overall.
This Moneypenny is great. Second favorite of the series. M and Q great too.
Some unfortunate green-screen work during the helicopter fight, which was ok except for that.
A regrettable fashion choice for Craig during the klinik scenes. Puffy pants and clown-sized boots.
Hinx is the best henchman... in a long, long time. Best since Jaws perhaps. Or, I'd put him on par with Necros.
I'll need to see it again to solidify some feelings.
