I love these - perfect to tease, like 'Skyfall' without giving anything away on the surface.

Seems we can piece together various moments form the trailers/spots to the soundtrack titles.

I'm drawn to 'The Pale King' and 'Out Of Bullets' for some reason. Sounds very interesting.

On the non spoiler thread there's speculation that the final track is some kind of alternate theme tune with another artiste performing it.

If so, the artiste would be listed, surely. I say this because two track mention Tambuco, which I've looked up online - it's a Mexican classical music group. My guess is it features in the PTC music.

As for the rest, there are some where its not difficult to work out where they relate to - georgraphical locations - if not when and why.

Some guesses:

Los Muertos Vivos Estan and  Day Of The Dead - The pre-title sequence.

The Eternal City - Establishing shot of Rome.

Donna Lucia - Lucia's theme.

A Place Without Mercy - The SPECTRE meeting.

Backfire - The car chase, referencing the flamethrower.

Crows Klinik - Going to meet Mr White.

The Pale King - Meeting Mr White.

Madeleine - Swann's theme.

Snow Plane - Self explanatory - the Austria sequence.

Detonation - The old MI6 HQ destroyed.

Curious that the two "Mexican" tracks are separated on the list - if that's what they are. But recall that "Grand Bazaar" and "The Bloody Shot" which followed in the film almost immediately were tracks one and fourteen on the SF OST. Done for reasons of musical variety or space?

"Kite In A Hurricane" - the first trailer gives that away.

"Silver Wraith" - isn't there a shot of a Rolls-Royce in the third trailer?

So, once again the tracks are not in order...

They're arranged in order that's best suited for easy listening (Newman mentioned it in an interview for Skyfall). John Ottman also talked about it for his score for Superman Returns (he then posted a blog which gave the order the tracks appear in the film)

It happens all the time, we'll just have to program our players after we figure out the correct order.

Fingers crossed the first track to play on ClassicFm, 'Los Muertos Vivos Estan (featuring Tambuco)', incorporates a gunbarrel theme like many others. Oh that'd be a TREAT to hear! :D

My ideas for tracklistings - also attempted to reaarange into chronological order - given stuff we know. Might be wrong on some things but it's all merely speculation!

  1. Los Muertos Vivos Estan (featuring Tambuco) - Translates as 'Are the Dead Alive'  - Assuming this is track 1 simply because it's first up and makes sense.
  2. Day Of The Dead (featuring Tambuco) - Part 2 of PTS?
  3. Vauxhall Bridge - Old MI6 Building - Bond and Tanner on the Thames.
  4. The Eternal City - Bond arrives in Rome.
  5. Donna Lucia - Funeral sequence? A theme for Monicas character regardless.
  6. A Place Without Mercy - Bond and Lucia?
  7. The Pale King - Bond at the Meeting/Finding out about Mr White? Since his place seems to be the next port of call.
  8. Backfire - Aston Vs Jaguar
  9. Safe House - Bond on the Lake and approaching Mr White's house?
  10. Kite In A Hurricane - Bond meeting White.
  11. Crows Klinik - Bond arriving at the clinic.
  12. Madeleine - Probably more of a character theme than an actual track but I'm guessing it will make an appearance in the Austrian sequence.
  13. Snow Plane - Austria Plane Chase!!!!!
  14. L'Americain - Tangier arrival?
  15. Secret Room - Bond and Madeleine's hotel suite?
  16. Writing's On The Wall (Instrumental) - Bond and Madeleine on the train I'm assuming - if they're going to have it anywhere it makes sense to have it here.
  17. Hinx - Bond vs Hinx Train Fight?
  18. Silver Wraith - Bond and Madeleine getting taken to.....
  19. A Reunion - ....Oberhousers lair?
  20. Tempus Fugit - Latin phrase translated as 'Time flies'. - Maybe something to do with the watch?
  21. Blindfold - Bond literally fights his way out of a paper bag?!
  22. Westminster Bridge - The London based action.
  23. Careless - Old MI6 sequence?
  24. Detonation - Definately something to do with M's office blowing up
  25. Out Of Bullets - The final confronatation between Bond and Oberhauser?
  26. Spectre (End Title) - End Credit Suite maybe? If so the first in the a long time!

Maybe 'Blindfold' will be some tense music when Bond has that bag over his head and makes his escape from whatever is happening.

The last track - Spectre - wonder if it is;

1) - a generalised theme based on one of the ealier track perhaps written to round off the end titles - like Adrenaline on the SF OST,

2) a specially written piece - an instrumental end title perhaps, just as OHMSS was an instrumental main title?

or,

3) it is actually relevant to the story - just as the title of the cue "Mother" gave no clue about the death of M until you heard the piece, could "Spectre" be the background to whatever the big revelation might be about our villain - if, indeed, there is a "big reveal"? ;-)

Amid all the excitment about "Backfire" the other track "Donna Lucia" seems to be overlooked. Maybe because Classic FM put it on the website before John Suchet played "Backfire".

I like it. One area Newman is very good at imho is the love scenes. I thought "Severine" from SF was a beautiful piece, briefly providing a musical background for the tragic femme fatale of the film. I equally like this new cue for SP's lady in black, Lucia Sciarra.

And let the fun speculation begin as to which will be the "Breadcrumbs" of the SPECTRE soundtrack in which we will hear the James Bond theme.. "Tempus Fugit", perhaps?? :)

I'm hoping 'Snow Plane' is the equivilent of 'A Pleasent Drive in Saint Petersburg'.

I've always had a feeling that the Austrian set piece will be Daniel Craigs 'Tank Chase'. I hope i'm not proven wrong. I still think Craig needs a proper solid Bond moment, and since Bond is taking off in a plane across the alps to rescue the kidnapped girl from the bad guys, it sort of points to this being *that* moment.

L'Americain....how cool would it be if Leiter showed up in Tangier? They would have had to have kept Jeffrey Wright's involvement secret this whole time but still, it'd be a nice surprise.

Wow Thomas Newman is such a lazy composer using the same thing that was already in another movie pathetic he really needs to learn how to make original music this shows how terrible his music skills really are he should not be composer. It's terrible.and yet again his music sounds generic and terrible.I thought about giving him another chance respect your buddies not proving himself.
My last sentence was messed up I could not fix it I meant to say I was willing to give him another chance for Spectre but he's just not proving himself to be a good composer

Nominations do not prove a thing. Show me his wins for an action score he did.
