Final or just another teaser? "Coming Soon" indicates teaser, also the fact the the official website only says "Check out the latest poster for SPECTRE", not a word of final or theatrical. Anyhow, looks great and we'll know sooner or later..

I can't quite make it out, but does Craig get a credit for something other than playing Bond on that?

It says COMING SOON as that this is the "generic" English international version - no specific date. Given it opens in the UK in October, US and other countries in November etc. The fact that it has the billing block though, and the timing of this poster's release, indicates it's the main/official/final poster - the one we'll see on the DVD/Blu-ray covers etc. Only other posters we should expect are the character posters, and the eventual (hopefully actually good) IMAX collectible poster. Don't think we'll get a separate UK/international poster like Skyfall, unlike Skyfall this time they're using the same assets in all territories.

If they were channeling LALD with the outfit and pose in the last poster, there is more than a dash of GF too here.

This is pretty bad really. It looks like fan art, just very well made! Better than the Skyfall ones.

I don't know much about the plot, but isn't that just Bond in the mask in the background? It should really be the main antagonist.

Am I the only one here who is a little bit disappointed ? Craig looks so great on that picture but it looks like a fan-film poster !

Absolutely! And I love it. Many people are going to complain, but I loved the LALD one and this one is just spot on. Also, be careful with spoilers, people. I´m looking at you Pete!

Yeah, just Bond in the mask, from the PTS (you see it in the trailer).

Nope. Craig's look is awesome, but the overall design/composition is just

Yep. If this was one of five character posters or something, and each of the characters had an alter-ego (Bond's alter-ego being Skull Face Man) then it would make some sense!

Given this has the billing block though, implying it's the theatrical poster - this isn't one of the character posters for sure.

Yeah, I was just being silly!

It looks like they've just gone "what looks cool?" and taken a frame from the film and plonked it on there. It should be an image of Oberhauser or the Spectre symbol... basically, anything but that!

I like it.  I like that there's more to it than the SF poster, which I found disappointing, and I like the color.

Interesting to see who's billed where.  Waltz being first isn't surprising (so was Bardem), Seydoux over Bellucci indicates who has the larger role, but Whishaw and Harris being billed so high with Bellucci getting the "with" credit that Albert Finney got in SF is interesting.

I like the picture of Craig in the White Dinner Jacket (looking very Bondian- to think there were some who thought he wouldn't be able to pull of that look.)

But this isn't really a great design for a Theatrical Poster- at best it'd make a decent character poster.
(I'd have preferred something like the Casino Royale posters- focus on Bond, but incoporate the Bond-girl and some of the setting into the poster as well.)

Two more observations:

1) Did anyone else notice there are FOUR credited writers?  That's a record for the series.  (Yes, they have often had more than four writers handle the script, but never more than three have been credited for a single film).  According to the Writers' Guild, to receive credit, your contribution to a script has to be at least a certain percentage.  I thought it was 50% but could be wrong (in any case, how could three separate writers / teams each claim 1/2 the script?)

2) Does the director get any say in marketing?  I don't think he does, but the use of the skeleton costume draws a parallel to Baron Samedi (who's been used in the cover art for some of the VHS / DVD releases over the years) and reinforces the influence of / connections to LALD.

Craig looks good here.  That's the only positive that can be said for it, as the rest looks like the typically abysmal promotional effort out of EON.

And Craig's getting a producer's credit now?

There's a combination of factors that go into getting credit as a writer on the film - it's why some directors get writing credit and others don't despite how many script changes a director makes and yet Neil Purvis and Robert Wade are credited for the first Johnny English despite barely any of their draft being left in the film (by their own admition). Go watch the deleted scenes with The Incredible Hulk dvd and time them - that stuff is the things the were removed to stop Ed Norton getting a writer credit on that film (all would've MASSIVELY improved the film, but that's another matter)

On a different note - What did Daniel Craig do on SPECTRE that finally got him a co-producer credit. He previously got them the their last two directors, has been meeting with cast to convince them to join up, written parts of the script when they where in a position that they couldn't hire a writer, was the one who came up with the iconic look from CR with Bond in the three piece holding the assault rifle...none of which got him a credit for BTS work, so I do wonder what else he's done. Also I suspect all three writers are credited as a way of going "look, we know the leaked script was heavily derided but we've had several drafts and 3 other writers work on it since then so come and watch our film before you try to write it off"

Very smart! Simple, but smart. I reckon we have one big poster due soon with more cast members, not just DC.
