Hasn't it always been that date for the UK and Ireland?

No, it was planned for a release on the 23rd, and now they pushed it back 3 days.

Normally movies are released on a friday in the UK, not on the monday after the friday.

So now they have 3 more days for post-production.

Well, I suppose you can't release it before you've had the premiere. Still has the whiff of some difficulty fixing the date / place / attendees for that and then having to adjust to suit. Doubt they'll achieve much over one weekend. You might be right, but alternatively you might be assuming a major problem when it's more an administrative bodge-up.

This outfit says it's going to be at the Albert Hall. Seems legit to me.

What makes it seem legit?

This FB post from the RAH Facebook site says

We've had no word on plans to hold the Premiere of Spectre here at the Royal Albert Hall.

https://www.facebook...52903406158727/

But then again, the post is from April, so this may have changed in the meantime. The fact that the Premiere was postponed for a few days and the movie now has a rather odd UK release date (a Monday) could mean that they booked the venue on short notice and had to take whatever day was available.

What makes it seem legit?

It's the Twitter feed for a company that seems to specialise in securing tickets for VIP events etc.

http://www.flaginthesand.com

From what I can tell they seem legit and well established.

The RAH front desk are not aware of it yet...  No announcements to them made.

And with all the SPECTRE images available, they use a Skyfall image to promote the next film...?

As of now, this still sounds as legit as any of Gulshan Grover's claims...

Even if the were intended to have those tickets available, the fact that they come out with this way before Eon might cost them the whole deal.

You can ask them: http://www.flaginthe.../film-premieres

like we did...

I asked them, too.

But just because the Box Office has no info yet, doesn't mean, that the premiere won't be at the Hall.

Ticket sale for Skyfall started on September 26 in 2012.

So I imagine, that the Royale Albert Hall will announce it in mid-september, if there will be a public sale again.

I'm pretty sure it will be at the RAH.

The ODEON Leicester Square answered an email from me and said, that they won't be hosting the premiere.

The O2 has U2 playing a concert on the 26th.

And I don't think EON will go really small with SPECTRE.

So it's obvious, that the 26th is the only day in October, that there is no event planned at the Royal Albert Hall.

The premiere will be there for sure.

I contacted 'Flag in the Sand' directly too - They seem very certain that it's the Royal Albert Hall.

I don't doubt that it'll be at the RAH (in fact, I've been convinced for a while that it'll happen there). It's just that through the past years, I've become very careful when it comes to rather obscure sources like this one...

Fair enough. I looked through their website and twitter account and saw they had a long standing history of acquiring tickets for their clients for just this sort of event and felt it was legit.

Royal Albert Hall confirmed.

Opening Night

SPECTRE premieres at the  on the 26th October. That very same night, moments after the premiere you too can enjoy the experience of SPECTRE at one of our opening night screenings.

Details are TOP SECRET at the moment. But rest assured, for everyone who books for the opening night, we've got something special planned.

EDIT: Odeon removed the Royal Albert Hall from the above whilst I was posting.

Think the big question for us Londoners is - Odeon Leicester Sq or Odeon BFI IMAX? :P
(Bear in mind select scenes were shot with spherical lenses and the Arri 65 camera for IMAX presentations - aspect ratio is meant to change for these scenes, like the recent Nolan films)

I'm thinking the Odeon Leicester Sq for opening night, then do the BFI IMAX a few days later.

Ha, they got rid of it. The page previously said under Opening Night that the premiere is at RAH.

Everyone loves the glamour of opening night, and we've got a few things planned to make it that little bit more special.

Details are TOP SECRET at the moment. But rest assured, for everyone who books for the opening night, we've got a few tricks up our sleeves.

Ah, ok.

As a slight deviation from the Worldy aspects of premieres, I am now wondering if there will be any local and regional premieres for second tier charities and the like.  Normally, there is the World Premiere, followed a couple of days later by the regional ones, followed by general release.

If the general release is on the same day as the World Premiere, what will be the draw to the regional ones?

I had been wondering this too.  Presume there won't be any regional premieres this time around.

Simple - there won't be. Not many films have these anyway to be honest....in fact Skyfall, and a couple of recent Marvel films, had these take place simultaneously with the London premiere, they're the only ones I can recall.

Beg to differ - the dates were after the World Premiere.

But, maybe, the draw will be the charitable element.  I should think more highly of my fellow man.

Thanks, Stromberg - I thought i was going crazy. 'Royal Albert Hall' is even missing from the quote I cut and pasted directly. Strange.

Oh yeah, the Skyfall ones weren't but the Marvel ones were for sure.

It's IMO pointless to do a "regional premiere" after the film is out for general release on same day as the world premiere. Maybe they'll do "charity screenings" instead.

Ah, so regional charity screenings will go ahead, regardless of their screenings not being held before the general release.

Good.
