I've read an article in which author auggests that  "there have been claims that Fleming’s publisher, Glidrose Productions, was against the idea of further Bond books after the author’s death in 1964." That's the first time I've found such info. Considering Bond's growing populairty at the time, it's diffucult to imagine they'd make such a decision.

Glidrose weren't IF's publishers. They were his corporate entity. Jonathan Cape published the books.

IF's widow Ann and his brother Peter were dead set against the idea of further Bond novels. They considered it exploitation. However Glidrose chairman Jock Campbell (of Booker McConnell fame) and Jonathan Cape chairman Tom Maschler were all for Kingsley Amis writing a Bond novel. They discussed the idea with Amis in the summer of 1965. The Fleming heirs didn't get on board until possibly March 1966.

We've a whole slew of threads on these fora discussing this issue in detail.
