March 21, 1944.

The most under-rated but I think most respected and admired of the James Bond actors, Timothy Dalton, was born.

My first screen 007 and that means my true interpretation of the character.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TIMOTHY!

He's only 69. We hashed this out in other threads.

...Regardless it is his birthday, right?

Happy Birthday to the living embodiment of Ian Fleming's James Bond 007!

Happy Birthday to the man who is head and shoulders above the rest.

Yes, today is Mr. Dalton's birthday.

According to his bio on 007.com, he turns 69 today.

69? Crikey - I've been sold false information!

Regardless, he looks great and still as dashing as ever. :)

Why is there debate on whether he was born in 1944 or 1946?

...I know, it's embarrassing to have two dates floating around out there on the web that misled me!

Belated birthday wishes to the Bond who was brought up just a few miles down the A38 from my home town to his - Belper, Derbyshire. He certainly deserved to do more than two films. I like to think he started what Daniel Craig is doing now.

Agreed with that, Guy.

So sad to think he probably had the toughest mountain to climb of any 007 actor:

1) Taking up from 12 years of Roger Moore's Bond with just a two year gap to totally change the tone

2) Hitting 1989 when all the big blockbusters came out with big name stars and budgets

3) Legal battles shadowing him after just 2 films

Such a shame and so not fair to have a man of his calibre discarded after just 2. Much love for the Dalton. :)
