Starting this thread to avoid any non-spoiler folk being exposed to information from the Empire article that they'd rather avoid.

- Madeleine Swann is a doctor at the Hoffler Klinik, a specialist treatment centre for the rich

- Hinx abducts Madeleine after Bond tries, and perhaps fails, to get information from her

- the Austrian action takes place roughly halfway through the film

- Broccoli and Wilson refuse to confirm (or deny) that Waltz's character is Blofeld

- as suspected, the pre-title sequence is indeed set in Mexico

- the big meeting of SPECTRE members takes place in Rome, albeit set at Pinewood and Blenheim

I haven't seen the whole article, so sure there are more details to add.

It's a very good write up to be sure. I'm really looking forward to Mr. Hinx. The line about Bond having a prescription for him at the clinic for Viagra is sure to get a few laughs as well. It's also really interesting that Madeleine Swann is potentially a psychiatrist of some sort. Looks like we could be delving a bit further into Bond's psyche after all.

Can't wait to read this in the mag soon!

Got chills reading just that line about a big SPECTRE meeting....that really is classic Bond territory now. And I wasn't aware of the PTS around Mexico. Sounds very detached from the rest of the film (location wise) so could be a nice stand-alone assignment coming to and end for us to see?

Excellent! I take it this issue is already appearing here on U.S. shelves. (Sorry, I may have missed this info somewhere else) :)

Oooo exciting! :D I forget in which documentary I saw it but film magazines always sell TONS more when Bond is on the cover, so they get good mileage with a Bond film release with 2/3 covers per film. Predictably I'll buy the mag over the weekend, despite not being a regular reader. ;)

Not that one, as I haven't seen it... I can't think what it must have been, but the guy being interviewed made a point that, if Bond is on the cover, it sells 5 times as much, or whatever... I think film as an interest is more a man thing then a women's, and God knows Bond is more a man thing than women, so it makes sense. I tend to buy the film mags with Bond on the cover and always think of that interview when I do.

The comments from Michael G Wilson and Barbara Broccoli about the Oberhauser character read that it is probably not Blofeld in disguise. Quote "Wilson and Broccoli are adamant that Waltz is not playing Blofeld. "He said no in his press conference" says Wilson. "We have SPECTRE and the rest is speculation" adds Broccoli."

Of course reading nods and winks into text on the printed page isn't always easy. It could be that they are going out of their way to say Blofeld isn't in the film so that it becomes the big reveal when it turns out he is - a bit like "My name's Eve. Eve Moneypenny." at the end of SF. But I'd put the odds at no better than 50/50 - it's as likely, as the writer of the article in Empire concludes that we'll have to wait until Bond 25 to see ESB as it is him being revealed as Oberhauser, or somebody else, in Spectre.

One other thing, not in the magazine but the comments let slip by Sam Mendes in the short video posted yesterday - the movie being "driven by Bond", wondering whether he should continue with the life he's leading, and the references to Bond's childhood? It does look as if certain themes from SF have indeed carried over into the new film.

The name Blofeld wouldn't carry any weight in the film's universe if it just happens to be one of Oberhauser's aliases. It is clear from all that is been officially told that Oberhauser as Oberhauser has a link towards Bond's past, that is important within the film.

I probably didn't make myself quite clear in my previous post. It's as likely that we'll have to wait until Bond 25 for ESB to appear as it is for Oberhauser to be revealed as Blofeld, is what I meant.

As for Oberhauser, well you don't need script leaks, spoilers or short video interviews to guess that there's a link with Bond. Just consult the Ian Fleming short story Octopussy. My guess is the link is loosely based on that.

That's not a firm denial. It's a sidestep.

Yeah, the comments from them do give me the impression that Waltz is and only is Oberhauser. Unless they're bluffing and we'll all have to wait until November to really find out, but I think this seals the deal that Blofeld is NOT in Spectre.

If they have bothered to unearth Oberhauser as a character from the books, I believe it would be a cheap turn to Also have him as Blofeld.

Great to hear that Mr White will be making an appearance - there's definitely some unfinished business there.

I think EON aren't playing this as obviously as they think we expect them to.

I don't think Blofeld will be in 'Spectre'. Why play all their aces so soon? Set up the stage for the big reveal in the 25th film, and give us nothing but teasers through this film.

It's too obvious, I reckon, for Waltz to play Blofeld and EON must know this...but refuse to give us any clue as to if it's true or not to keep conversation, word of mouth and excitement building. Just my thought.

Through the writing process, the reveal has been in several various places, including not at all. I really don't think we'll know for certain until the film comes out whether Waltz is both characters.

The "I am your father" scene from EMPIRE had a fake version in the script, too, complete with fake dialogue, so this is standard Hollywood procedure.
