Heh-Heh....Cheers univex! ;)

No, with only ten of the DB10's being produced, it's well out of the cost of my assets.

As to any modifications (that may or may not have been done) to my own '84 Jaguar XJ6 Series III, well..."Section 26, Paragraph 5".  :P

Here are two I've considered.

1) Hydrofoil - Much like the "Disco Volante" - Skids that pop down and allow the Aston to glide over the surface of the water and allows the car to escape over the sea or any significant body of water.

2) Military grade flamethrowers that discharge from the side/wing mirrors on either side that are almost like napalm delivering and adhering a thermite (which burns at 4000 degrees) coating to any opposing vehicles and literally melts them into the ground.

I did a great deal of RPG games in the 80's (the kind played with dice, character sheets and imagination/inter-active storytelling) and we dreamed up (then) some really crazy stuff.

I have my moments. As I stated, there is a whole list, but until the Special effects chaps or Eon come to me (knowing I'd damn well work for free), I'll keep any details to myself.

BTW- Barbara and Michael: I'll sign any NDA you want. Yes...REALLY.

Always loved the wheels gadgets. But I guess that would be too close to GF or TLD. I sure can´t think of anything that would make that car cooler.

Speeking of wheels, notice the gunbarrel-like spokes?

I mentioned this somewhere, but I've got a list of gadgets/modification that I've wanted for Bond's AM that haven't been used. Both offensive and defensive.

You defensive!?..Never!

Offensive, on the other hand.....

Yes, I sure did. Nice spokes. Very retro. Make the rear wheel a gatling gun and I´ll be one happy fan.

How about a built in toilet for those long stake outs?

Some reason a built in drone comes to mind but that might be a little much.

Not at all. In the Benson novels, Bond is driving a a Jaguar XK8 coupe which has "The Bat" - a drone type device that is armed yet also used for surveillance. Not too far out of the reach at all. IIRC, Aside from pre-set commands and controls, it also works via voice commands and has night vision and aerial mines. It seemed just a bit far-fetched in 1998, but believable for 007. Benson was always good at the "suspension of disbelief" IMO.

it looks great in silver but i'd much rather see it in British racing green or royal blue.

Here in Canada you have to have the licence plate on both the back and front. Is that different in the UK?

Or have they not added the turn style plates yet?

Same in the UK - white plate at the front, yellow plate at the back. (Unless you're driving a 1964 Aston Martin.)

I presume the revolving number plates are added later...

I'm still going to say no, but the author does argue his case pretty well.

The way Mendes introduced the car was very teasingly done: "...and you'll see what it can do when you come to the film" (sic).

That to me suggests it does something pretty impressive that we need to watch for...

Perhaps it's specially adapted to drive across the snow or sand. Those are the two most distinctive landscapes we appear to be getting.

I came in here to post that article. It doesn't have to be submersible levels of silliness, There's real production cars that can be driven as a boat (or sailed as a boat). That's what the DB10 could be, but with a few options extras.

A submersible car was right for the Moore era, but do fans really think that it would fit in a more gritty Craig era Bond movie?

The hydrofoil concept I had could easily be adapted to either sand or snow. We've seen Bond's Aston tackle snow and ice before, so sand and desert would be my next thought. Maybe an escape from the desert to the sea or vice-versa.

The car's shape and body do lend itself to a submersible, but I too doubt it to be the case and you really can't beat the Lotus and all that was done in TSWLM.

My only other idea was something like the parahawks in TWINE. Bond takes the car off a cliff, but then deploys two large chutes and also has rockets or a prop deploy to maneuver it. Less of a flying car, but more like controlled decent.

This is my favourite idea too. I hope it's something like this.

Not convinced that chap makes a great case; the front isn't 'sealed'- there's a horizontal split line at mid-height from the front wheelarches back to the door, which suggests the nose hinges forwards or perhaps the whole front section lifts up. It's quite a leap to assume that would equal submarine. Why would the filmmakers even worry about shutlines?

Flying cars along those lines exist, yes: http://fly-skyrunner.com/

Maybe the car turns into a boat, rather than going underwater. Would be tremendous to see Bond drive head first into the water and driving off in a converted DB10-boat. (Dunno how they can keep a lid on that though, since Daniel Craig would be seen roaring down a river in Rome).

I have no objection to a submersible. I'd even venture to say that the DB10 would have the potential to out-play 1977's Esprit submersible submission (perhaps not on an iconic level, but a maneuverable and believable one).

I can't see it turning into a sub, maybe a hoover craft but thats still a little silly for Craig's era.

I imagine military type weapons and gadgets.

I'd love to see it destroyed in B25. Maybe like in FYEO with a ridiculous self destruction system that levels a building.

Indeed. Remember the uproar when people thought Bond would be driving a VW Beetle in SKYFALL? And we know what happened to them.

Ah yes. Typical media hype, such as Bond ditching martinis completely for beer.
