You know you're getting old when policemen are looking younger, and when one of your favourite Bond films has hit fifty two years after you did!
The first Connery Bond film I ever saw. Happy 50th.

There's an article on 'Creating Goldfinger' at: www.007info - well worth a read. Although DAF was the first Connery Bond film I saw, Goldfinger sealed the deal for me. What a film!

An interesting fact but true, and it always amuses me. In the Nottinghamshire town of Hucknall, a few miles from where I live, there is a jewellers named "Goldfinger", and only a few minutes walk away from that is a street named "The Connery". The shop, by the way, is on Baker Street, though I don't know how near it is to number 221B.

That film does not get enough love around here.

Goldfinger? I think if anything Goldfinger gets more love than any other film in the franchise. I think it doesn't get a lot of love here because we all see it as being a little overrated. My film class in high school would always show Goldfinger and I would wish they would show From Russia with Love because that's a fantastic Bond film.

I always feel a little sad when people call Goldfinger overrated... sure, it's overplayed beyond all reason - but it's hands down the best Bond film for me! When introducing someone to 007, I always tell them to see Goldfinger first. It's everything you could ever want in a Bond adventure.
