Inspired by classic schoolyard discussions ("Who would win in a fight between...?"), I propose a Bond film "Fight Club."

The rules:

-a proposed matchup is made pitting two characters, who never met face to face in the films, against each other

-stipulations for the fight must be given (bare-knuckle brawl, shooting duel, etc.)

-if you choose to respond, give your winner and the reasons behind your choice

-give a new match-up featuring your winner and a new combatant

Let's start off with:

Hans (YOLT) vs Stamper (TND) in a traditional boxing match

Ready... GO!

(I'll take a crack at getting this thread rolling..)

I think that Stamper would win..definitely seems more energetic and can move faster than the somewhat slow and cumbersome Hans.

Give that... Stamper vs Eric Kriegler in a sharpshooting contest...

Thanks for getting the ball rolling Dove! I almost forgot all about this

Kriegler, for sure. We only saw Stamper with a machine gun, and Kriegler is Olympic caliber in shooting.

Now... Kriegler vs. Vargas: a duel in Scaramanga's funhouse

Hm. Kriegler has strength...Vargas is quite sly....and in the fun house....I go for Kriegler, JUST. I think he could use the environment more to his advantage, seeing as Vargas fails to hide well even sneaking up on Bond in the open. :P

Kriegler (FYEO) vs Hans (YOLT) atop the bridge over the piranhas?

I'd say Hans: he's more muscular than Kriegler and would have more stamina and raw strength in this fist fight. Kriegler would be better at shooting, but Hans is better at punching.

Now, ladies first: May Day (AVTAK) vs. Xenia Onatopp (GE), in bare hands close combat?

Ooh good one.

Hmm. I go for...hm, I don't know, both have pros!

I think it will be...Xenia, with her evident military training and skills, I think her endurance would be good against May Day, but of course it would be a close battle!

Ok....

OK, our first handicap match! I give the edge to B&T, since it's their "home field" so to speak. Familiarity with your environment is HUGE!

Tag team match! Bambi & Thumper (DAF) vs Mishka & Grichka (OP) but with no weapons! And on top of a train!

Oops, sorry, I just now realise I broke the rules by putting forward 2 new names instead of strating with the winner of the previous match... My mistake!

Well, to make up for it, I'll try to get this one right.

I think, given the context, it would have to be Bambi & Thumper. They're more nimble and sure-footed, whereas Mishka & Grichka would be more awkward. Plus the girls do know how to strangle.

So here it goes: Bambi & Thumper vs. Sandor (TSWLM) in a hotel room.

Hmm.. I think that with their athleticism Bambi and Thumber ought to easily take down the slow and beefy Sandor..

Ok... Bambi & Thumper vs Mollaka in a free running competition at the abandoned hotel site from Casino Royale... :)

Mollaka, no contest. Bambi & Thumper's streak ends as I feel they are athletic, but not in the same way as Mollaka - he's got speed!

Mollaka vs Scaramanga in a "manhunt" contest - if Scaramanga shoots Mollaka he wins; but, Mollaka wins if he can go 2 miles without being hit.

Mollaka would probably win, though if it's a manhunt inside Scaramanga's funhouse, Mollaka would knock down all those tacky mache backdrops of Peter Murton's making him an easy target. I'll make the very politically incorrect observation that Mollaka wins because the funhouse is so darkly lit.

Mollaka or Nick Nack in that vent shaft Bond climbs through in DN. :D

Nice! I go for... Mollaka. Size is no handicap for that man, and Nick Nack just panics when under pressure. Mollaka would slide through there no problem and probably hold Nick Nack underwater when the water comes through!

Mollaka, with his sheer speed and sense of balance.

Mollaka (who is running away with this so far!). Zao didn't fair too well the last time a structure was crumbling around him, did he?! ;)

Ok...

Jaws wouldn't even fit in the lift... :D

I'd go with Jaws. Mollaka doesn't have enough room to manoeuver, yet most of his assets come from speed and stamina. Jaws could take any blow and still be standing, and all he has to do is just chew the guy to bits.

Jaws vs. Tee Hee (LALD) in regular single combat?

Sorry Jaws, I've got Tee Hee in this one. Smaller, quicker, can use the metal arm/claw as a weapon more effectively that metal teeh.

So far we've only had villains/henchmen, which is fine - but this is open to all characters! So to change it up...

I think Tee Hee would win just on the fact he has the height advantage of Quarrel Sr. (now Quarrel Jr. might be a different matter..)

Nice. Well, on that note it has to be May Day! Tee Hee would suffer with just the one arm and no be able to cast off very well I think.

May Day, home turf and all. The esteemed Dr. Goodhead is a tough cookie, but May Day does this sort of thing for a living!

That would be a very close call! I guess eventually Moon would win, since he seems a trifle meaner than May Day (who in the end turns good and all that) and hence wouldn't hold anything back.

Moon vs. Chang (MR) in a kendo stick fight?

Now, if Moon is Graves, and Graves did so well fencing against Bond in 'DAD', I go for Moon. Chang is good, but very basic in attack and I think Moon would be more swift and dirtier in his attacks.

Definitely Col. Moon...I think his style of martial arts is far more advanced and faster than Lt. Hip's. Sadly I feel that Lt. Hip might end up as the next "stuffing" for Moon's punching bag.. :P

Grant for sure. Enclosed space, dark, brutal - no room for Moon to get any kicks in. Grant takes it.

Tanaka. He's a cunning master who would deliver very focussed blows that wouldn't necessarily require too much strength to be leathal, whereas Grant is more of a raw tank.

I think Kaufman - all talk that man. Tiger has had the training to probably withstand torture, and also to focus the mind and body. Kaufman I think is just a giver, he couldn't take it.

Tracy. Vesper has no muscle, though she's still extremely tenacious. Tracy knows how to handle herself better, imo.
