Hi all,

My wife recently bought me the excellent 'James Bond: 50 years of movie posters' book. Was really puzzled by one of the Thunderball lobby cards which seems to feature Connery fashioning some kind of cobra with his arms.. Was wondering if anyone has any info on why Bond is striking this pose?

They've altered the colour of Bond's suit and cropped out the grandfather clock to which his cuff is pinned by Bouvard's throwing knife (from the PTS).

That poster is a reissue. Note the 1968 United Artists logo on the bottom-right corner. The original posters had the Hexagon on there.

I thought the Hexagon appeared on the original prints of all four pre-Transamerica era Bonds. But from the sources I've been told, it only appeared on Goldfinger. And supposedly, the Hexagon was only seen on British UA films, and international prints of American UA films.

Ah of course! Recognise it from the PTS now, thanks for the quick replies and extra info!
