This morning I read that Aston Martin is literally opening its own Q Branch ( Q by Aston Martin ), and this got me thinking about Bond gadgets seemingly become real in the world of motoring.

The Rolls Royce Wraith (which is what Fleming's Bond would be driving if he were around) features GPS-guided transmission, which scans the road ahead using satellite and selects a gear appropriate to the next corner.

The Land Rover Discovery Vision concept features: smart glass windows which can project images of the environment onto them and turn opaque- essentially the bonnet can turn invisible(!); laser headlights which detect the road ahead and can also project onto the road; gesture control, deployable side sills (very Daylights-skis!); and, well, just like Bond you can remote control drive the car from your mobile phone(!).

That Land Rover alone, if it were real, would beat most of Bond's cars!

Do you know any other gadgets which wouldn't have been out of place in a Bond film now available for real?
