I always thought he was a bit younger than that.

Not to distract from this being a birthday thread (happy returns, TD), but come to think of it on the younger thing, they did downgrade his age during publicity for TLD. I recall articles placing him at about 41 or maybe 42 when he'd have been at least 43. Not a huge difference, but enough to make you wonder if it was intentional or just lazy editors and writers.

 

 Also, interestingly, he'd have also already reached 50 by the time preproduction on GE, which may have added to the pressure to put him out in favor of Pierce.

I suspect they did the same for Brosnan. I have a film encyclopedia, published before he landed the role, that lists his birth year as 1951.

I favor 1946 as his birth year. Therefore he's only 68. Several pre-existing threads about the yob discrepancy.
