Something I thought may be of interest: Young Bond author Charlie Higson has written a Doctor Who ebook, featuring the Doctor as played by Daniel Craig's one-time co-star Christopher Eccleston.

The ninth instalment in a series of short ebooks celebrating Doctor Who’s 50th anniversary will be written by Charlie Higson – actor, comedian and author of the phenomenally successful Young Bond books and the cult thriller series, The Enemy.

The Beast of Babylon features the Ninth Doctor as played by Christopher Eccleston

When a girl called Ali pockets a silver orb that falls from the sky, little does she realise it’s her ticket to seeing the universe! Desperate to retrieve the mysterious object, the Ninth Doctor agrees to let her join him on a dangerous trip to ancient Babylon. Together they must join forces to stop a giant Starman from destroying Earth before it’s too late!

Charlie Higson commented: “I grew up with Doctor Who and have always been a massive fan so it's a great honour to be involved in this anniversary celebration. Russell T Davies did a great job of rebooting the series with Christopher Eccleston so to be able to write the Ninth Doctor story was a great opportunity to say thanks to the Doctor and thanks to Russell.”

I just heard an interview with Charlie on Radio 2 tonight and Young Bond came up, obviously.

While he was promoting something else due in September he was saying that he had been procrastinating about 'polishing  someone else's gold' for so long that, 'now, I think, they have someone else.'

Is this common knowledge?

I personally have not introduced myself to YB so am not up on current events but do IFP have the intention to continue Young Bond?  And if so, are alternate authors being discussed??

Best.

There has been some chatter about this. I posted this on my blog back in April of last year.

Ah - I had just ping-ed you an email about such.

...Not thinking that I would be introducing new news, but just to confirm that all was in place.

By the sounds of it, it is.

Cheers.

Thanks Simon. There actually might be fresh news here because it sounds like someone might have already been chosen.

Could we get an announcement about this after the Solo launch?
