Thought it would be interesting to speculate. What would Skyfall had been like if Connery/Lazenby/Moore/Dalton/Brosnan had been playing Bond in Skyfall?

Connery (at his peak) and Dalton I could see pulling it off. No too Brosnan and Moore they'd be out of their depth. Not enough explosions or campness or Jokes. Moore's Bond would have to shag a woman every two minutes and Brosnan's pouting god no that's bad enough in his films.

But I can't imagine anyone but Craig pulling it off. He's the best actor out  of the other actors to play Bond. The film works for me cause of Craig, he's never too showy brings a natural performance (apart from Connery no one settled into playing Bond as quick as him).

Think Sir Sean during "Entrapment" he could do SKYFALL at any age,and he was drinking MacCallan 20 years before Daniel Craig.
If he would just forgive the business after League of Extraordinary Gentlemen and come back and play 001
It's my dream and I'll hold on to it.

I don't agree Roger Moore couldn't have done a movie like Skyfall.

Think of his best movie The man who haunted himself. He realy could play a more complex caracter.

Ofcourse in the seventies this kind of movies were most of all light entertainment and fun.

Also Brosnan could have pull it of. Why not? He is not a bad actor at all.

Craig is great, but that doesn't mean the others couldn't do a movie like Skyfall. That is rubbish.

When Casino Royal was released a lot of people were saying that Brosnan never could have done that movie. I don't believe that.

He would have done it a little different and as a more mature Bond, because of his age. It's not that Bond movies are asking so much of an actor actingwise, even the more serious ones.

Dalton could have done it.

I think all of the previous Bonds could have pulled it off.  They are all good actors.

Agreed. This unfortunately would not have made a better film

I think that they all could have done SKYFALL and it would have turned out somewhat similar to the finished product.  There's enough silliness in there to accommodate Moore's Bond (although I think that Moore would have been perfectly capable of doing a straight-up serious Bond film if he wanted to), and the likes of Connery, Lazenby, and Dalton would fit fairly well anyway.  Then there's Brosnan, who would have also been a good fit, considering a good portion of SKYFALL is heavily inspired by his own THE WORLD IS NOT ENOUGH.

I disagree...

I don't think the other actors could have all done SKYFALL as written and directed without it sticking out drastically from the rest of their run of films, with the possible exception of Dalton, who might have delivered the single greatest Bond performance in the history of the franchise.

I think each other actor would have needed a drastic overhaul of the script as filmed.  Brosnan and Moore would have needed the comedic quotient expanded and the heaviness/seriousness dialed back a notch or three.  Otherwise, there would have been a disconnect with their previous entries.  In fact, I can't even begin to see Moore's Bond at all in the final assault on Skyfall Lodge.

Moore was very serious in FYEO, only in the teaser and his scenes with Q he has a couple of sily remarks.

But he can handle very serious performances in movies like Shout at the devil, The man who haunted himself and The naked face.

So I don't see the problem.

Brosnan is even less a comic in his Bond movies, he could do it without any problem at all.

Dalton and Connery ofcourse without a question, Lazenby I don't know how he has grown as a actor over the years.

If The Broz was in Skyfall he would have become "The 2 Billion-Dollar Bond"
