Then please click the link below and sign, share, and promote this petition.  I am doing this as a fan only and have no financial stake whatsoever in this endeavor.  All I want is to be able to buy Skyfall and have the disc match the rest of the ones in the box!  Whether this bugged you as much as it did me, or if you're just interested in supporting fellow Bond lovers, please help out by signing the petition.  Thanks in advance for any help you can give!

Woh, and I thought I was fussy when complaining about lack of original poster artwork!

Know exactly what you are saying though, and another thing that annoys me, is the way all the disc menu's are the same, except for

Quantum of solace and Skyfall.

I don't know why there's any outrage over this.  There was never any question regarding whether EON would make the disc look right when put next to the others.  There has to be some reason to get people to buy the next Blu-ray release of the franchise, and they managed to build in a way to accomplish that.

Gotta agree with tdalton on this one. Somebody makes the effort to join CBn and make one post for this?

I can maybe see those who are annoyed when their DVD cases don't match somewhat, since those sit on a shelf and you can see them every day. These Blu-rays are in a book setting, it's not like you're looking at them constantly. If I want to complain about anything on the Blu-ray it's the lack of substantial bonus content. But I don't need to create a thread, much less a petition, to do so.

Odd initiative. Might as well petition the legal ban of darkness to save electricity and light bulbs.

It doesn't bother me in the slightest because I had no intention of putting my Skyfall blu-ray in the Bond 50 box set, especially since mine comes in a shiny steelbook case.

What does bother me s that they saved a place for Skyfall in the first place.  They shouldn't have bothered!

Have you got the Goldeneye steelbook Mr Egypt? It's a cracker, original poster artwork as well!

I haven't, Mr Forever.  I'd be well up for owning another Bond film on a blu-ray steelbook ... were it not for the fact that GoldenEye is not only my least favourite Bond film but it's the only one I actually dislike.

Therefore, I can't be bothered!

I admit I am a little niffed it doesn't fit with the style of Bond50. But of course lots of people don't have that box-set, for the disc to appear very dark and muted to fit in, other people would be a little annoyed probably of that look.

I guess people lose whatever style they choose.

Oh well...at least I have it. If anything, I'm annoyed there's no picture of either Eve or Severine on the Bond50 sleeve next to 2012 in the Blu-Ray boxset unlike the other 22 girls featured...but that's a different thread altogether! :)

That baffles me as well.  I mean, it really wouldn't have killed them to slap on a pic of Severine next to the 2012, would it?  Didn't any of the crack design team notice?

It's this kind of laziness that makes me wish they just didn't bother with their half-arsed attempt to include Skyfall.  Harrumph!

What they should have done - apart from the above - is have some kind of voucher or purchase code exclusive to your box set.  You fill it in online along with a payment, and then MGM send you a Skyfall disc for the box set that matches the rest of the set.  The payment would be much lower than buying the blu-ray, of course, because you wouldn't get the regular case and artwork, etc.

Yep, that's what they should have done.

I thought they would actually, something like that.

I remember something not exactly the same, but something that shows it can be done - the 1 disc DVD of 'Children Of Men' was deemed a little cheap by the director and he wasn't happy with it once the new 2 Disc version came out, so he made the studio have all those with 1 disc DVDs send them to a special address and they sent you a new 2 Disc verison. I did it, and got mine, packed full of features!

I found a copy of the address you sent it with a a jiffy bag for returning it:

Send your original vanilla-disc, box and all, along with a self-addressed JL-size jiffy bag stamped to the value of 70p to:

CHILDREN OF MEN DVD AMNESTY
P.O BOX 188,
WOODFORD GREEN,
ESSEX,
IG8 7RW

It was a brilliant move and worked so well, so it does show studios can do things like that for fans if they actually want to.

The artwork on the bluray cover or disc doesn't really bother me at all.  I have both the Bond 50 set and the individual blurays each with it's own case.  Don't get me wrong, I love having the 2 Disc books with nice pictures, and the extra poster book, but I could see very quickly that this book would get easily damaged if your constantly taking discs in and out of it.  As stupid as it is, I decided to spend the extra money and get the other 9 blurays that weren't released originally to complete my set of cases.  I figured I will get my money out of them because I watch them all the time.  That way I can still enjoy the books and keep them in great condition without worrying about tearing it up.  I am hopeful that this bluray set will last for 5-10 years.  I read about 4k coming about in the next few years, but I'm pretty sure that will be way out of my price range for a while, so I am very content with the quality that bluray provides.

I do agree about the addition of a bond girl next to the skyfall page.  That was a major mistake.

I'll do all of you one better. I have the original Special edition DVD releases of the first 20 films, along with the DVDs of Craig's first two. Skyfall is the only Bond film I have on bluray. And I have that disc situated in order where it should be: right after Quantum of Solace, regardless of the fact that the cases aren't even the same size.

Now I don't feel so bad! I did the same thing. I love the set and feel it is one of the most worthwhile Bluray sets out there, but I too wanted to keep it in good shape and bought them individually when they were on sale. I like the packaging on most of the individual releases so its not a total waste on that front either.

The disc menu on QOS doesn't match any of the others, either, should we sign a petition for that?

While you're already at it please do all consider to sign the petition for the legal ban of all gravity within the solar system. Just think of what we could save on air-traffic tickets and how space programs would thrive...

People, now that you're talking about BluRays, can you help me to get Bond50 + a Player?
Go here http://t.co/rUCIrc9yms and then "Vota"

PS. Sorry for going off topic
PS2. Won't complain about the disc's size, there are worse things to complain about, like the gunbarrel at the end LOL ;)

Your least favorite Bond of all time?  Really?  Worse than NSNA, DAF, DAD?  Not being critical, everyone indeed, is entitled to their own opinion.  But, at least for me, Skyfall is up there in the stratosphere with some of the best Bond movies of all time (DN, FRWL, GF, TSWLM, FYEO, GE, CR).

Regarding the packaging of SF...not bothered by it at all.  Would I have liked to it match the others.  Perhaps.  But, it still matters, at least to me, close to nothing.

I've gone back and forth on SKYFALL and right now rate it as one of the worst of the Bond films - only TWINE and QOS strike me as arguably more joyless and plodding. NSNA, DAF and DAD are all far superior to SKYFALL in my book.

At least Skyfall came in a Bluray+DVD+Digital Copy combo pack.  Now that all Bond films are all in my Bluray changer, I don't really care about the packaging or menu design (and rather than buy the remaining individual titles, I traded in the blue cases of previously released Bond titles.)  I dumped/traded a lot of other VHS, LD, DVD formats, but can't bring myself to do that with the Bond library (not even the vinyl.)  Still, OCD has limits.  Should we be upset Craig's not on VHS?!  I'd rather have CR '67 on bluray!

I avoided buying the "Bond 50" collection for basically this reason. The collection certainly looked nice, but it wouldn't fit in with the rest of my collection as I'd have to lay it flat. At least the Indiana Jones Blu-Ray collection, despite being a book as well...stands up.

I'll put it out there that I like the SkyFall box art as well.

Internet petitions almost never work and the issue at hand should have been obvious before you started spending money.

Maybe it would be nice if the disc looked more like the other discs, there is also not a real good reason for it not to look like the others, but it's not that important to me.

I rather would like to have had for QoS to have the same menue and for CR also the same items on it, like trailers and photogalery. We don't have any official trailer stuff on the CR dvd's and blu rays!

I bought the English steelcase with the blu ray, dvd and digital copy just for my collection, it's even still sealed!

And the other English version with blu ray, dvd and digital copy to watch

and the normal Dutch version (blu ray only) to put it in my blu ray box.

(there's also actualy a Dutch steelcase version with ONLY a blu ray, I didn't buy that one!)

Well... the Blu-ray of CR '67 doesn't have CR '54 on it.  There *is* a Blu-ray of CR '54, but it's just a completely unofficial (public domain) upscale release... it would be nice if the original film could be scanned and given a proper Blu-ray release, though.

In response to the OP:  No, it doesn't bother me even remotely.  I don't display all my DVDs openly.  That's for college kids.  My DVDs are stored in a cabinet and taken out only for watching.  Which, by the way, is the reason I bought them.  The films are what I watch - not the DVD storage case artwork.
