After the extraordinary success of Skyfall, do you believe EON will change the release date of the next Bond movie? Personally I would prefer the Thksgiving Season.
Will they release Bond 24 on the Summer of 2014?

While Lincoln, SF, Twilight, and Hobbit, are all "big" releases, they all chase slightly different demographics, giving each film a chance to succeed. Summer releases tend to be chasing the same, perhaps, younger crowd.
While the Bonds are making money I personally don't see the reason to change. A ticket sold is a ticket sold, no matter the time of year.

I don't know - I don't think EON want Bond as a summer blockbuster, as we've seen, as it's a constant forumale, it could drop significantly with each release, or get better, it's a big gamble.
It worked for 'Skyfall' being later in the year, standing out from the crowd and not fighting for the big blockbuster number one against films that are either one-off features or big named, lavish Hollywood productions.
Bond is still aiming at that mature/fan base rather than popcorn entertainment escapism of the summer audiences.
I like it where it is, and it's something to look forward too after all the big summer films are out also!

I agree. I sincerely hope that EON and SONY won´t make the mistake and bring out the next Bond in the summer, especially the already packed 2014 summer where every blockbuster will eat into the next earnings considerably.

Leave it where it is, we all remember what happened the last time they released a film in the summer....

EON originally wanted to release QoS in Summer of 08, but it got delayed due to a change in directors.

I think EON would be wise to leave the films in the November-December timeframe. They'll still make a boatload of money during that time, and if EON and Sony are as interested in winning Golden Globes and Oscars with the Bond films as they very much appear to be interested in, that's something that is difficult, if not impossible, to achieve from a summertime release.

From pre-production to release in 18 months?
These ain't the early 70s no more, I'm afraid.
(I'd love to be wrong, though, provided the product quality doesn't suffer.)
Summer 2015 would be more likely.

Jeez - 'Quantum Of Solace' in the summer of 2008 could have been a repeat of 1989!

I say late 2015.

That would be kind of cool, I agree they need to release Skyfall in November. It works better than way, plus all the good movies release in the summer and that leaves more competition for James Bond.

Fleming never gave Bond a birthdate, but Andrew Pearson did in The Authorized Biography of 007. It's November 11th. If one googles it, November 16th also comes up, but is not credited so I'm going with 11/11. The year has changed from 1920, to 1924, and 1930 once Connery was cast. Craig's Bond is probably close to 1970.

Thought i read somewhere it was 1968 ?

Craig was born in 1968, so it seems legit that his Bond was born in that year.

They released something about it before Casino Royale was released stating that this new rebooted Bond was born in 1968.

Who's this Andrew Pearson then, the love child of John Pearson & Andrew Lycett, perhaps?
I prefer to go with Nov 11, 1920 for the early books, where Bond was a seasoned agent with war experience, then with 1924 (the year of the rat) for the later stories where Bond was facing middle age. After that I don't keep count - I'm not married to any concrete timeline for the continuations or films.
"I disagree sir. I've used the Beretta for ten years and I haven't missed with it yet." (Dr. No, 1962) - which would have made Connery's Cmdr Bond 22 when he started with the 00 section.
See wot I mean?

Well just because he has used the Beretta for 10 years, does not mean he worked for 00-Section for 10 years. He could've been using the Beretta while he was in the Royal Navy.

Or alternatively; summer is when all the noisy, shallow, cgi-fueled rubbish gets released...

November 2014 is problematic now too. Warner Bros just announced that Chris Nolan's new movie Interstellar will be released November 7, 2014. I doubt EON will put Bond head-to-head with a Nolan film.

I'd guess early Nov in UK/Europe and pre-Thanksgiving week 11/21 in US

I wouldn't be surprised if they pushed the film to December 2014, if they do indeed go for a 2014 release. Now that EON has gotten a taste of what it's like to be a part of the Oscar festivities, they're going to be gunning for much more than the technical awards the next time around. If they can put out a film that's a bit better than Skyfall and find a way to get that same kind of hype going for it that they had this time around, but with a December release, I think that might be enough to get them onto the ballot in some of the more so-called "major" categories since they seemed so close the last time around. The script will be the key, as that's what kept them out of some of the bigger categories the last time, IMO.
Regardless, though, the Oscar recognition for Skyfall all but assures that we won't see a summer release for Bond 24.

If they release it in the summer, there will be more competition for the movie. This definitely should be November.
