Well it's confirmed they are no longer doing Bond:

http://www.mi6-hq.co...?t=&s=&id=03421

Here's a quote: "Activision also shuttered developer Bizarre Creations after "007: Blood Stone" failed to live up to expectations in 2010, as well as canceling an original storyline game starring Daniel Craig mid-development at Raven Software."

Problem is, unlike Goldeneye, nobody, aside from us hardcore Bond fans or hardcore gamers, ever heard of it like 007 legends. The advertising was poorly executed if at all for bloodstone and legends.

Oh happy day!!!!!!! But why would they cancel what looks to be a very promising game in Raven's attempt and not cancel what was clearly not going to be a promising game all the way back in April when it was first announced with 007L?

Tally-ho and cheers!

Yes, I found that rather strange.

I wonder if the online servers for the games will be shut off immediately.

Eh, who knows? I don't exactly care. Although, Blood Stone had a decent multiplayer.

If so, I should play Quantum Of Solace again.

I couldn't be more happy about this. No more Call of Duty: Bond and hopefully the end of these "modern re-imaginations" of locations and characters.

I don't care if the next game is a first (GoldenEye, Nightfire) or third person (Tomorrow Never Dies, Everything or Nothing) shooter, I just hope it's taken seriously. I'd love to see Nintendo (again), Sony, or Crytek (Free Radical - TimeSplitters) get the license.

SkyFall game please!

I'm hoping for either Bioware, Rockstar, or Ubisoft, personally. They do brilliant games.

I don't think Bioware would do a good job. Rockstar is a long shot and is wishful thinking. I'm starting to think Ubisoft will pick up on the license.

My belief is that it will be Ubisoft. They're the last of the 3 major publishers (the others being EA and Activision). I think Ubisoft would actually put some effort into it. Although, they are known for milking things just much as EA and Activision (see Assassin's Creed, Prince of Persia and Splinter Cell). That said, EA actually did put some effort into the games especially with NF and EON. Activision never seemed to care and just apparently thought the games would sell because 007 is written on the cover. And I don't think there will ever be a chance of Rockstar making a Bond game. It is an interesting thought though...

I believe Ubisoft will grab the license and do good. Assassin's Creed franchise has been milked for everything and It's not even a good franchise (in my opinion.) Prince Of Persia and Splinter Cell have just become stale. Far Cry 3 is a phenomenal game. A massive step up from the poor Far Cry 2, and also a big step in the franchise. The new Rainbow Six game, Rainbow Six: Patriots looks amazing. I have a feeling we could be getting a great Bond game if Ubisoft gets the license.

'Quantum Of Solace' was the best multiplayer from Activision.

Well, it's a real shame that Bond has now gone solo but I hope we hear developments soon for who will take the licence to give him the game he, and us, deserve!

Whoever gets the license, I hope they shake things up in the future.  You know, don't try to be Call of Duty.  Although, I think 3rd person Bond was better in recent years, I'd like to see some new ground broken, for Bond anyway.  Maybe open world elements, or RPG elements.  Maybe a Bond game similar to the Mass Effect franchise where its semi open world.  You travel to different, smaller sandboxes and linear missions.  Make dialogue choices in the cut scenes   You want to be witty you can or serious, you can.  You also have down time to explore and do side activities.  Go to the casino as Bond.  You could play hold em poker, black jack, baccarat, roulette.  Play golf, race, or skeet shoot as bond.  Go to Bond's apartment to decorate, change cloths, customize weapons, check emails, etc. Explore MI6 hq, have a garage with Bond cars or acquire  them as you progress though the game.  like mass effect, you form relationships with Bond Girls and friendships with characters like Felix Leiter.  Hopefully the story would be well written and the game epic in scale.  Maybe as icing on the cake, you unlock alternate Bond skins after beating the game so you can play as whatever Bond you prefer, at least for mini games. A few of these ideas would be welcome.

I'd play that.  Though truth be told, I'll play anything James Bond, no matter how bad.  Still, a guy can dream.

I think we'll probably hear something by E3 at the latest.

As far as a new game goes? No, that's just too soon. I'm sure there will be several studios looking at it by that time, but it may be a year before we know for sure who has the license.

No, I was saying that we may know who has the license by E3. I don't think we'll hear anything about a new game until next year.

Even then it's too soon, then again Activision got it shortly after EA dropped it. Ubisoft (which I feel might grab it), is the last of the top 3 studios, and they may sit and wait on it. Who knows. Square Enix is another possibility, at least for me based on Hitman: Absolution.

Square Enix would be interesting. They've done well lately with Tomb Raider and I think could make a great Bond game. But I do believe it will be Ubisoft. If E3 is too soon, do you think maybe we'll hear something by Gamescom?

Gamescon is a good shot, maybe the Penny Arcade Expo. The new Tomb Raider game looks great. The Batman games are epic, and Hitman is on another level. Square Enix would do good.

Agreed on that count. I still haven't gotten to the new Hitman, but it is on my list. I can't wait for Tomb Raider, which looks just epic.

I would to throw in Naughty Dog's name into the list of contenders. They've proven with the Uncharted series that they know how to make a great action/adventure game.

I would love to see Rockstar take a shot at Bond since not only do they excel in the game mechanics and graphics department but more importantly in the story department. However Rockstar rarely takes on movie licenses (The Warriors being the only one). They have a Cold War era spy game called "Agent" in the works but no updates about the project have been made for a while. My guess is that once GTA V is released they'll (hopefully) step up production on Agent.

Agent interesting.. I like Rockstar as a game developer but I think it would be pretty rare if they actually took the James Bond license.

They won't. They only work on one game at a time and I don't think James Bond would ever figure into that....not with the franchises they have: Grand Theft Auto, Max Payne, Red Dead Redemption etc.

Agreed.  Rockstar won't make a play for the license.  Would be great if they did, as I think they're the best option out there with everything being equal, but they won't be the ones producing the next game.

A James Bond game in the style/narrative style of 'Red Dead Redemption' or 'Grand Theft Auto' always exictes me at the thought of something to expansive and in-depth. The open world take on Bond's espionage adventures would be brilliant.

That would be cool, but your right. Rockstar has way too many franchises. Plus I feel like only Bond fans would appreciate this as in other video game fans would complain saying that they should make and RDR 2 before making a new Bond game.

Yep, which is once again the problem. Franchises stifle innovation.

And I think it's expected for Bond games to be FPS now, but they need to be intelligent, well made and lovingly produced to give some respect to the franchise and the fans.
