So I was wondering what is the added part to the James Bond theme from the Craig era specifically the trailer, that sounds like gregorian chants as the climax?
Never could figure it out, or why it was added.

I think you answered your own question - it's just a choral arrangement of that particular section of the theme. I know lots of forum members are tired of that theme being used in all the trailers, but as for why it was added in the first place, it was probably just to sound "epic" and generate excitement.

I remember it originated with the 'Casino Royale' teaser and was used, as Double-0 says, for a big, fresh burst of Bond excitement, danger and epic sounding choral-ness!
Was a great staple of Craig's introduction as Bond BUT has been over-used quite a bit since then, mostly by Activision promoting '007 Legends'.

It's just the Pfeifer Broz's choral (probably sampled) arrangement of the Bond theme's bridge, from their CASINO ROYALE trailer music. It hasn't worked its way into any of the scores.
This is Gregorian chant:

....and every other game too. You'd think it was the only piece of music ever created for Bond.

Brosnan had his own trailer theme too that never showed up in any of his films. By Parodi Fair if I do remember correctly.
I always felt this version of the theme reflected the Brosnan era in the same way that Craig's trailer Bond theme reflects his.
