It is tedious when highly successful fictional characters have to keep proving themselves again in the next story.

What I'd really like to see is Bond actually go undercover for a large part of the story. Perhaps infiltrating a terrorist cell or criminal gang. Actually spying rather than just going in under his own name. There ought to be a lot of tension in this if done correctly.

That would be cool. "Yojimbo Bond" hasn't been done since LTK, and I'm sure Craig would play it brilliantly. In addition to tension, there'd be a lot of opportunity for irony and humor.

Yojimbo Bond could be a classic. As we are now effectively at Dr No it is believable that Bond is unknown to the wider criminal world (not to mention half the world's bar men)

Without a doubt, I'd like to see the major elements of the YOLT novel adapted into something bold, new and fresh for the Daniel Craig era. Amnesiac Bond, the garden of death, Dr. Shatterhand... it's all there and ready!

The last time this question was asked of me, I replied that I wanted to see the return of the padded leather door in M's office!  This time, I would like to see Bond's flat and/or some reference to Bond and the great sport of golf.

From A View to a Kill and The Hildebrand Rarity could have a screen adaption (obviously expanded, like they did with The Living Daylights), the second one especially would be an excellent title for the movie.

About 007 in New York and The Property of a Lady: the first is weak, in my opinion, and the second one has already used in Octopussy (not as the movie's title, of course, but they clearly say it).

What we need is a clear save the world plot for Bond 24. We haven't had that yet in the Craig era and if the Craig films follow the Connery mold, Quantum will be back in Bond 24 and we will get the OTT Thunderball-esque plotline.

Well, first of all the gunbarrel back at the beginning.

Then there's lots to think of.

Bond and the Royal Navy comes to mind, we haven't seen that since TND. And now that I think of it when was the last time Bond was actually called commander in the films?

It would be also nice to see some unused Fleming material...still lots of things from the novels that can be used. Defenitely would like to see the garden of death and Bond losing his memory or characters like Gala Brandt and the Spang Brothers in the future.

I would also welcome a return of Quantum in the next film.

How about an actual dragon this time, rather than that cop out we got in Dr. No.

Heh. Well, we did get the Komodo variety in Skyfall.

i'd like to see the next one be lighter. Not jokey---just lighter. like i've said before, you go back and look at Goldfinger, it's not that there's a lot of jokes in there, it's the lightness of the music score. The Craig films have been pretty serious, so i'd like just  a bit lighter of a feel to the next. And how about a snow adventure?:)

I know this is petty, but having watched the Blu-ray clips of SkyFall, one thing I want for Bond 24 is longer hair for Craig. SF's near-buzzcut isn't very flattering and only accentuates his age.

I totally agree, the longer hair looks really nice on Craig.

Agreed as well.

I think he needs to have it at least as long as it was in QUANTUM OF SOLACE, but I wouldn't mind they had him sporting a similar hair style to the one he had in the SNL "Bond Girls" sketch back in October.

I can't believe people are actually ok with his unattractive skyfall looks , I would put that at #1 on my list of changes for Bond 24

I do hope that they go for a lighter tone throughout this film, in both the cinematography and locations. I'd love for this film to feel and be more reminiscent of the Fleming sweep found in the earlier novels, and less like the later novels, to contrast with Skyfall's gloom. I thought this was greatly achieved in the 2 acts before Vesper's death in Casino Royale, despite some of the fair criticisms.

The ending in Skyfall, for me, is the perfect set up for this shift in style.

I'm looking forward to Bond and Moneypenny banter before going in to see M. The finale of Skyfall gets one excited.

I also think I'd like to see a 'Bond gets the girl' type ending. Craig hasn't had one of those yet.

And I must say I'm perfectly ok as their movie endings are. I hate the "Bond gets the girl" type ending.

Someday James Bond is going to complete a mission without getting bereaved in the process, and on that day we'll have the return of the upbeat ending. As long as it is done with taste and originality, I'm all for it. It's not as if the only alternative to dick jokes and rubber dinghies is to end on a morose note. There are ways of ending a Bond film that we've never even imagined.

See the endings to the novels From Russia with Love and You Only Live Twice. They weren't upbeat and ended with some interesting twists. I wouldn't mind seeing the films follow those patterns. Having 19 films end with Bond sexing up his leading lady gets old and diffuses much of the tension as you know how the film is going to end.

I just want them to continue being faithful to Fleming and using Novel as a guide............love to see a castle since we fail to see in Skyfall, would make a grand finale

- Gunbarrel at the beginning
- A megalomaniac type villain (ala Max Zorin / Hugo Drax) with a modern touch
- Psychotic / formidable henchman ( a mix of Red Grant / Dario)
- Possible return of SPECTRE or Quantum
- Variety of settings ( preferably Jamaica, a snowy setting, and San Francisco )
- Return of 007 theme
- Some Moore cheese thrown in (not too much though)
- A score reminiscent of OHMSS
- Espionage and tension / a good dose of action
- Felix Leiter
- Just a damn good Bond film using elements from all eras

Oh and I love the castle idea make that happen too haha.

Here's what I'd like to see in Bond 24, but before I mention it, I really think, upon repeated viewings of Skyfall, of how wonderfully Sam Mendes has set this franchise up for growth.  By the end of this movie, you have a strong rounded-out support cast to support a tough-as-nails Bond.  Mendes done a great service.

Anyway, I think a fascinating plot could develop around drone technology.  It's extremely high tech, there could be a lot of "sexiness" to it and it wouldn't need to be obscenely unrealistic, like Moonraker or DAD's godforsaken invisible car.

In our real world, drone technology has become controversial for obvious reasons. And soon, very soon, if not already, other nations and, worse, rogue and terrorist outfits could get hold of this tech.  Imagine a series of toy-sized drones going after select world leaders ... or armed with enough dirty bomb explosives to do damage in an area filled with innocents.  It's an easy, sad and unfortunate extrapolation of current technology and could make for a gripping Bond film.

Could be fun to see the mad man/villain behind such a plot!

Quite a few people I know, have said that they're hoping for the next Bond film to include something about the IRA. I think the Mallory backstory in Macau heightened some peoples nterests.

Yeah I agree! If they could give Craig that slight parting it would look very very good.  I think the slightly longer, ruffled look he had in QoS was pretty damn cool.

Hm,interesting, but how topical are they? I think giving that history to Mallory, if meant to be significant in any way other than a plausible military past, was supposed to demonstrate that Mallory is a useful veteran. Besides, the producers would risk kicking the hornet's nest with the IRA...

Drones would be a brilliant way to bring in a megolomaniacal villain, be topical and high-tech, and reimagine the villain's-plot-to-rule/destroy-the-world motif. Could they go all TB, YOLT and MR by having the villain steal the drones of western and eastern powers?

I vote for every one of those. It's about time to go back to Jamaica, and that would be a natural place for Bond to bump into Felix.
