Has anyone heard any rumblings about dates or other details?
Nothing has been announced yet.
But bets are that it will be Tuesday 23rd October.
And besides the Leicester Square there is the possibility to do it at the Royal Albert Hall like in 2002, as the 23rd is the only date in October where there is no concert planned.
But we will have to wait and see.

Just received a message from the Royal Albert Hall, that the world premiere of Skyfall indeed will be at the Hall on tuesday, October 23rd. So that puts an end to all speculations. This news will be announced shortly.
Thanks for the info!
Do you know what the charity will be?

Sounds great - I take it the public can go to these premiers or is it press/major figures only?
The world premiere will be a Charity Premiere.
That means, that besides the film crew and some special guests there will be tickets, but they will be 1000 pounds or more. The goal is to get a big amount of money for a charity organisation, that soon will be announced.
So it's almost impossible for a normal guy to get into.
But the Royal Albert Hall got thousands of seats. Perhaps they will sell a limited amount of them to the fans for a "normal" price? Who knows ...

Ohh I see, good point. Still, good to see new developments!
By the way: the press will have its own screening, even before the event in the evening. I think in 2008 the press screenings were a few days earlier.

Not really all true sir. I went to the CR premiere in Leicester Square and the tickets were nothing like £1000. I might have paid £100 each. And the TLD Premiere I attended for £60 per ticket. The world premiere will be a Charity Premiere.

That said, that CR premiere had three cinemas (not just screens) catering to the same event so I am not sure if the total number seats between the three different cinemas would be in excess of that of the Albert Hall's offering.
Anyway, I called Eon today and, upon speaking to some drip of a girl, she said they 'are still not at liberty to say who the charity will be', but that I should call back nearer the time.
On asking her When nearer the time, i.e. so that it is not So near to the time that all the tickets are sold, she said, 'erm, well, eh, y'know, like, soon. Actually, all the details will be on 007.com, soon.' She said.
I am not sure any charity details have ever been on 007.com, but to give the little poppet the benefit of the doubt, perhaps we should wait and see - nearer the time. Soon.

I was at both, cheaper seats. CR had a great cocktail reception party in a bar overlooking Leicester Sq. It was marvellous looking down on the carpet shaped like the gun barrel covering the whole sq below, with everyone arriving.
So there is still hope, if you don't mind being in a different room to the Queen or whoever.

The CR premiere tickets were something about £40 or 50. That one was a Royal Command Performance, and the charity was the CTBF. For QoS, the tickets were only £25, not certain what the charity was, could have been Help for Heroes, and I believe there was a second one. If Skyfall is a RCP again, it's highly likely that it'll be the CTBF. The main problem about tickets won't be about money; it'll be about being fast enough. Not really all true sir. Nope, not CTBF either. And they didn't know who it might be other than 'it could be HTH'.The CR premiere tickets were something about £40 or 50. For QoS, the tickets were only £25, not certain what the charity was, could have been Help for Heroes.
Not quite true.
I was there, and I had one of those £25 tickets. But those were not for the Charity Premiere. That screening was part of the London Film Festival. It was on the same evening, but officially it had nothing to do with the official premiere.
As the London Film Festival is earlier in October this year, I doubt that there will be £25 tickets for the red carpet premiere of Skyfall.

I will give you extremely short odds...What’s the betting that the charity will be The Prince’s Trust?

Technically, you're right, but I believe that part of those £25 went to charity, too. The difference to the CR premiere was more or less that we didn't get such beautiful tickets...

I've seen the interview on the website from the London Film Festival.
Would be great if you sent me the picture. :-)

Which means the usual players have all been considered... CTBF, HTH, PT.
Who else has recently done something? Cot Death - FSID? I am aware they too are looking after some regional premieres but at present, Sony is keeping quiet what is happening at the Albert Hall.

Wondering if perhaps we've found the World Premiere Charity - which if it is the case, would make it a reasonable assumption that Roger Moore would be in attendance.
There are many other charities that will benefit from the auction, but none that have a page devoted to them.
Anyway, continued musings...

Hope to go up again, I was there for the Casino Royale Premiere - by the red carpet, not at an actual screening unfortunately.
Hope to have a repeat of this
Hello, I thought I'd try to boost Craig's features a bit there as he's a little bleached by the flash:
