We already know from previous polls how inaccurate - and unpopular - the results of this survey will be.

Well, you're right - no one is ever satisfied with the results of these things unless they chime with exactly one's own opinion! And by their very nature all polls are inaccurate (unless the however many billion who have seen Bond films worldwide ALL replied!)
It's a bit of 50th anniversary fun at the end of the day - and the votes and comments received so far certainly make interesting reading!
And by the way AMC Hornet - I'd love to see your votes! Might help make the final standings more accurate? ;-)

Oh, I doubt that - my choices seem to fly in the face of popular opinion.
The Bond films I think are 'great' were all made between 1965-77 (TB-TSWLM), plus OP, TLD & DAD.
Of those, I could never narrow my choice down to one - and if I could, it would only be my idea of what's great.
For what it's worth, though, I'd nominate TB and OHMSS (neither of which won the last poll we saw here at CBn).

Interesting favourites AMC Hornet. I think Octopussy is a cracking Bond film - much under-rated!

How do you do manage this poll if your opinion of the greatest Bond ever varies from time to time depending on your mood?...

Okay, so I submitted my rankings and accepted their terms and conditions, which includes their right to use - or not use - any or all of the rankings submitted.
Which suggests to me that this poll could turn out any way the eds at 007 Magazine want it to, if they have a bias.

Hey AMC, thanks for your votes.
Just to set your mind at rest - what was meant by the terms and conditions was just to check that if anyone submitted comments with their ratings that they were happy for them to be used. Quite a few people have written justifications for their ratings / comments on the films and we didn't want to print any quotations from these if people weren't happy with this.
ALL VOTES and rankings will be counted - and the results will stand - even if we don't like them! (Already some of my personal favourites are not doing as well as I'd hoped... but that's life!)
Hey Messervy
Any poll is only a snapshot in time - our tastes inevitably change as we get older, sometimes radically so.
Films and styles of films go in and out of fashion too.
Sight and Sound magazine do an interesting poll every ten years to decide "the greatest film of all time" - Citizen Kane has been top for something like 40 years - will be interesting to see if it still is this year.
Think it would also be interesting to compare this 007 Mag poll (when complete) with another one in ten years' time to see which films fall in (and out!) of favour.
There's no real answers - it's all subjective and changeable - but part of the fun of being a fan, yeah?
