Ooh! Hello! Was just browsing some new image links when I spotted this one [http://ent.ifeng.com...4437190_1.shtml ].

I thought maybe a wire harness, but it isn't, the right strap is much thinner than the left, as well as the fit/shape and the fact that in this scene we know Bond is wearing his jacket. He obviously isn't carrying camera equipment on straps like some of the crew around him either.

Shoulder holster is back! I did like that for the past two films Bond's been using a waistband holster, like Bond gets later on in the novel series, but I did think Daniel Craig's 007 was missing a little iconic imagery with a shoulder strap.

It's been mentioned before, I think. Interesting that he's wearing it there, though. I wonder if that might be that strap thing Patrice is swishing around on the train roof?

I figured it's because he is using his gun alot in these scenes, and is wearing it under the jacket the whole time more or less. I hadn't seen any other evidence of it, I like and hope we see at least one classic shot of Craig's Bond wearing it/jacket off.

Yeah, it's most likely for continuity purposes, as you say, Leon.

I suppose there are quite a few scenes we could potentially see it in. The MI6 shooting gallery, Bond's Macau hotel room, Skyfall Lodge, etc.

Hi Bill, for your information, the villain jumping over the bridge is Patrice (Ola Rapace) rather than Silva.

Actually, it's also a fun reversal from the novels. Instead of having the shoulder holster initially and then changing to the waistband, Craig's Bond has done it the other way around.

Who knows though, maybe he'll use both - that would indeed be the most realistic/professional thing to do. For instance shoulder straps are much better while driving/sitting down for long periods. Waistband slips are better when not wearing a jacket, etc.

You know, seeing Craig (and his stunt double) with the brown hair, gray suit and white shirt, had me thinking of Red Grant:



A different shade of gray and the black tie but visually familiar, no?
