To start the ball rolling, I'll tell my story:

In 1969, at the tender age of 10, I travelled around the world with my family. Our stops included:

Tokyo
Hong Kong
Bangkok (several times)
Karachi
Amsterdam (including a canal tour)
London.

Later, when I saw DAF, YOLT and TMWTGG it was like watching travel films I could have taken myself.

In 1977 I travelled with the Navy to Puerto Rico and Rio de Janiero. Two years later, watching MR, again it was like reviewing my own travel photos in motion.

In 1997 I finally made it to Las Vegas (where my fascination with 007 had started so long ago).

Until I can travel again, I'm waiting to see other places I've been to crop up in future Bond movies (some book locations have made my second list).

How about you? Wher have you been that Bond has also been? (Extra points for having been there first!)

Last year I went to Portugal and spent some time in Cascais and Estoril. The Casino Estoril is apparently Fleming's inspiration for the Casino Royale, which I rode past on a train. The PTS of Casino Royale was evidently filmed in Estoril.

...I've been to London a few times...that's it for my woeful Bond Travels!

MI6, MI5, H.o.P, the usual Bond locals, but I did get a picture of me next to the 'secret door' near Vauxhall Bridge, I believe, where Bond access the secret underground station in 'Die Another Day'...hehe, that's about it for me!

Went to Key West on my honeymoon in '92. We even stayed at the same hotel that EON Productions booked:
The Marquesa (the address is, ironically, 600 Fleming St.)

Stayed at the Ocean Club in the Bahamas, the hotel where Bond wins the DB5 from Dimitrios. It was a few years before Casino Royale was filmed, but it was a pleasant surprise when I first noticed it in the film.

I have been to several of the major cities that Bond has gone to: New York, New Orleans, San Francisco, and London. I have also been to Puerto Rico's Arecibo Observatory, the site of Bond and Trevelyan's fight at the end of Goldeneye. It was a cool place to go to even without the Bond connection.

Jamaica. I went to James Bond beach, near Ocho Rios where they shot Dr. No where Honey Ryder walks out of the sea on to the beach. Pics of my time there: http://debrief.comma...mes-bond-beach/

It hasn't really changed that much over 50 years, apart from the sand bank where Bond and Honey hide behind when they're getting shot at, has been replaced with a stream.

I've been to many Bond locales.

London, of course, and I too have the pic with the secret door on the Vauxhall Bridge. I also got a pic with Lucy Fleming's elephant (that has all of the Bond titles and expressions).

US Locations - Miami, including the airport (Casino Royale) and the Fountainbleu Hotel (Goldfinger); New Orleans (Live and Let Die); New York (Also LALD); San Francisco (AVTAK), Southern California (Moonraker), and Las Vegas (DAF). I've been to Kentucky (Goldfinger), but not Fort Knox.

Nassau (Thunderball) - and I'm going again in one week :)

I've been to Japan (YOLT) three times, although I can't say specifically that I have been to a Bond location there.

I have been to Switzerland, including Bern, and yes, we drove by the base of Schilthorn (Piz Gloria)

I have been to Amsterdam (DAF) and done the canal boat tours.

Not only have I been to Hong Kong (TMWTGG, DAD), but I have a picture of me beneath the sign for the Bottoms Up Club (which states, "As seen in 'The Man With the Golden Gun").

I have been to Venice, and even stayed in the Hotel Danieli, twice - once on my honeymoon!

I have been to Spain (FYEO, DAD), specifically Madrid, Barcelona, and the Costa del Sol, but none of the locales of FYEO or Bilbao.

I've been to Germany (Dusseldorf and Bavaria), but not Berlin (Octopussy) or Hamburg (TND).

I've been to Paris and up the Eiffel Tower, although I never thought about jumping (AVTAK).

I've been to Tangier, Morocco, and also Gibraltar (The Living Daylights); I was there a year after the movie and our driver worked on the production of the Gilbraltar scene. I was also in Vienna.

I've been to Iceland (DAD) - and that was a year before DAD.

Some of the locales that come to mind from the books... Lake Geneva (Role of Honor); Helsinki (Icebreaker - even went to the Hotel Kamp); Brussels (High Time to Kill); Kamakura, Japan (The Man with the Red Tattoo); Hong Kong (Zero Minus Ten), Hilton Head, SC (Scorpius), and even the forgettable Hawthorne, NJ (The Man From Barbarossa).

I've been fortunate enough to visit many Bond locations & do Bond themed events with other Bond fans, many of whom are members here. Bryce (003) & orlandobond coordinated a lot of these events which have all been incredibly fun. Here is my list (in no particular order):

Las Vegas, New York City, New Orleans, Key West, Ocho Rios (Jamaica), Venice, Cortina, Lake Como, numerous locations in Switzerland including the Versazca Dam & Piz Gloria, & Paris. I'll cross Nassau & the Bahamas off the list next month & then London up is next on my short list.

For my Bar Mitzvah my parents threw me a James Bond Theme party, where every table was a different movie. I invited all the actors to the party but only Pierce, the Bond at the time, answered the invite. He sent me an autographed pic! For the signing board my parents made a huge License to kill and put my picture on it. I felt like the coolest thirteen year old. I had my first alcoholic drink with my pops, a martini shaken not stirred, naturely.

Now this is where I get to the Bond travel part, My parents gave me a Bond trip as a Bar mitzvah present. We went to London and Paris and toured areas that were in films. The coolest part was going to the MI6 Headquarters and Madame Tussauds where I got to take a pic with Pierce in his Bond pose.

Besides for London and Paris Ive gone to other notable Bond locales, but none were for the sole purpose of a Bond adventure.

Hmmm... I'm not sure about my list, because I'm not sure of the full list of Bond locations. So here are the places I've been for which I'm sure there's a Bond connection, thanks to Wikipedia:

* London
* Paris
* Monte Carlo and Southern France, including the Cap d'Antibes where DAF was shot
* Geneva
* NYC
* Prague
* Rome
* Venice
* Siena
* Amsterdam
* Istanbul
* Bratislava
* Vienna
* Cairo (and Gizah)
* La Vallette in Malta (where TSWLM was shot)
* Eilean Donan castle in Scotland

Sadly, most of the time I was not aware of the Bond connection at the time of my visit.

Well, I am Jamaican by birth, spent the bulk of the first 15 years of my life. Been to Goldeneye and all that. India also, but that comes with having an Indian dad. Lived in 8 countries before the family settled in NY when I was 16.

Otherwise, I've pretty much been everywhere Bond has. Dad's a scientist (metallurgy) and mom's an economist.

I've been to many locations used in the Bond movies.

Perhaps the most iconic and particular to Bond was the 'mushroom island', Scaramanga's lair in TMWTGG.

I believe the movie locates it off Vietnam, whereas in reality it's in the Malacca Strait, Thailand. It's known locally as James Bond Island and is not far from maybe the world's most beutiful island Phi Phi, where the movie The Beach was shot. I've no idea what the Tsunami did to these island, but hopefully their still just as impressive.

The oddest Bond location i've visited is Udaipur in Rajasthan, India. The Lake Palace and the Monsoon Palace were both featured heavily in Octopussy.

Why's it odd? When i got there i'd been backpacking for sometime and had no idea of the town's significance. Dirty, tired and hungry i stumbled into one of the modest cafe/restaurants that evening for food and was greeted by the waiter with, "Good evening sir, my name is Bond, James Bond."

I wondered if my appetite for for everything Bond had finally gotten the better of me and these hallucination was the onset of rabies (i'd been in a scuffle with a monkey a couple days prior and had a nasty gash from razor claws). But before i knew it they'd wheeled out a TV and pressed played on dodgy pirate copy of Roger's penultimate outing (no offence Rog, but i'd like to have James Brolin play the part, if only this once).

I found that every restaurant in Udaipur plays Octopussy every single night and long may it continue to do so!

Geneva - GoldFinger
Vienna, and Bratislava - Living Daylights
Monaco - GoldenEye
Dubai - To Kill and Die For
Abu Dhabi - A Secret to the Grave
Istanbul - FRWL
Silverstone - Thunderball
Lisbon - OHMSS
Amsterdam - Diamonds are Forever
Holywell bay, Newquay, and eden project, St Austell Cornwall (doubling for Korea) DAD

I'll cross Nassau off the list next year lol.

Hi Vauxhall

Been very busy with our new house near the Royal National Park in Australia.

Japan is great fun, and well worth visiting.
