Rules:

1. You can only make up film titles after 1987, where most of the Bond titles have ran out. You must use the official titles first.

2. If an actor or actress has died, you cannot use them in a movie after their deaths.

3. You cannot use Casino Royale untill 1999 or later. When the rights were aquired.

4. If you decide to make Thunderball before 1969, Kevin McLory has to be the joint producer, and if not, then McClory has the right to make an unofficial version of Thunderball, as well as Never Say Never Again. Which will be released in 1983.

Just thought this could be fun. I'll kick it off....

The Sean Connery Era (1962 - 1965)

1962 - Dr No (Director Terence Young)
Sean Connery / Ursula Andress / Joseph Wiseman / Bernard Lee
  • The Climax of the movie, involves Bond doing Dr No's obstacle course.
  • Leiter is removed completely, he doesn't really have a part in the novel.
  • Bonds has a centipede in his bed, instead of a tarantula.
1963 - From Russia With Love (Director Terence Young)
Sean Connery / Robert Shaw / Lotte Lenya / Danielle Bianchi / Bernard Lee
  • The end of the movie involves Bond getting poisoned by Rosa Klebbs shoe. Bond collapses onto the floor and the credits roll.
1964- Goldfinger (Director Terence Young)
Sean Connery / Honor Blackman / Gert Frobe / Harold Sakata / Bernard Lee
  • The movie begins with M revealing that Bond surived the attack on his life, and he's getting some rest and relaxation in Miami. Bond is given a light undercover operation and asked to keep an eye on Goldfinger, Who is apparently cheating at cards.
  • Pussys sexuality is much more forward. She doesn't run Pussy Galores flying circius, and instead runs a group of lesbian burglers.
  • The plan sequence at the end of the movie plays out as it does in the novel. Odd Job is sucked into space.
1965 - Thunderball (Director Terence Young)
Sean Connery / Adolfo Celi / Claudine Auger / Jack Lord
  • Felix is Jack Lord.

The George Lazenby Era (1967 - 1972)

1967 - On Her Majesty's Secret Service (Director Peter Hunt)
George Lazenby / Diana Rigg / Telly Savalas / Gabriele Ferzetti / Ilse Steppat / Bernard Lee
  • Editing tightened up a bit more.
1968 - You Only Live Twice (Director Peter Hunt)
George Lazenby / Telly Savalas / Tetsurō Tamba / Ilse Steppat / Sayuri Yoshinaga / Gabriele Ferzetti / Bernard Lee
  • Revenge Story.
  • Much closer to the novel.
  • Sayuri Yoshinaga plays Kissy, who is the main Bond girl.
  • Shatterhands castle is the climax of the film.
  • Bond strangles Bunt, and Blofed is killed.
  • Draco is Bonds main ally, as he too wants revenge on Blofeld.
1970 - The Man With The Golden Gun (Director Sergio Leone)
George Lazenby / Clint Eastwood / Brigitte Bardot / Herve Villechaize / Bernard Lee
  • After being so impressed with The Good The Bad And The Ugly (1964), Cubby Broccoli hires Sergio Leone to direct Golden Gun, Leone has one condition. Clint Eastwood plays Scaramanga. Broccoli meets his conditions.
  • The film follows a western theme. Bond and Scaramanga's duel is brilliantly done.
  • Brigitte Bardot plays the part of Andrea Anders, Scaramangas girlfriend, who is also the main Bond girl.
  • Very close to the novel.
  • The end of the film involves Bond being brainwashed and attempting to kill M.
1972 - Live And Let Die (Director Stanley Kubrick)
George Lazenby / Jane Seymour / Yaphett Koto / Julius Harris / Jack Lord / Bernard Lee
  • Cubby Broccoli hires Stanley Kubrick, after seeing his brilliant adaptation of A Clockwork Orange. Broccoli feels that Kubrick could do a brilliant job at portaying the bizzarness of the voodoo world.
  • Bond, after being incarcerated after the events of The Man With The Golden Gun, is sent off to Jamaica by M, who is adamant that Bond is fully healed.
  • Lazenby wishes that he wants Bond to have fun in his last outing as 007, and suggests George Martin to do the soundtrack, since he is such a massive fan of the Beatles. Cubby Broccoli also brings in Paul McCartney and John Lennon to work on the title song.
  • Felix isn't fed to a shark, but accompanies Bond on his assignment.
  • The film revolves around buried treasure. Just like the novel.
  • The climax of the film is the same as the novel. Bond and Solitaire are dragged through the water, and Mr Big gets killed in a shark attack.

The Roger Moore Era (1974 - 1979)

1974 - Diamonds Are Forever (Director Sergio Leone)
Roger Moore / Christopher Lee / Glyn Baker / Jill St John / David Hedison / Bruce Glover / Putter Smith / Bernard Lee
  • After losing out to the role of Scaramanga, Christopher Lee plays the part of Jack Spang and Glyn Baker (002 in TMWTGG) takes the part of Serrafimo Spang.
  • Cubby rehires Sergio Leone to direct, after his splendid job on Golden Gun.
  • The film is faithfull to the novel, but at the same time, it's a fun adventure.
  • David Hedison replaces Jack Lord as Felix Leiter.
1977 - Moonraker (Director Peter Hunt)
Roger Moore / Katharine Hepburn / Michael Lonsdale / Bernard Lee
  • Bond meets Drax and Blades
  • The movie is very fun and over the top, but very entertaining.
  • Katharine Hepburn plays Gala Brand
1979 - The Spy Who Loved Me (Director Lewis Gilbert)
Roger Moore / Barbara Bach / Curt Jurgens / Richard Kiel / Bernard Lee
  • Bernard Lee retires as M at the end of the picture.

The Timothy Dalton Era (1981 - 1995)

1981 - For Your Eyes Only (Director John Glen)
Timothy Dalton / Carole Bouquet / Julian Glover / Gabriele Ferzetti / Robert Brown
  • A return to basics approach.
  • Gabriele Ferzetti returns to the role of Marc Ange Draco to help Bond take down Kristatos.
  • The Pre Title Sequence involves the deaths of the Havelocks. The same way as in the short story. The first PTS where Bond doesn't actually appear.
  • Carole Bouquet is Judy Havelock and not Melina.
  • The movie has quite a bit more action, and a beautiful score by Bill Conti and John Barry.
1983 - Octopussy (Director John Glen)
Timothy Dalton / Glenn Close / Lous Jordan / Robert Brown
  • Glenn Close plays the part of Octopussy.
  • The film is pretty much identical to how it is.
1985 - From A View To A Kill (Director Steven Spielberg)
Timothy Dalton / Jack Nicholsen / Grace Jones / Susan Serandon / Jack Lord / Robert Brown
  • Spielberg approaches Broccoli and asks him if he can direct. Broccoli agrees, and is delighted when Spielberg pitches an exotic and emotionally charged story set in Switzerland. France, Africa and Callifornia
  • The PTS involves 003 getting murdered on assignment, Bond is sent to Switzerland to investigate the death, and soon finds himself in the middle of a conspiracy.
  • Jack Nicholsen plays Max Zorin.
  • Susan Serandon plays the lead Bond girl.
1987 - The Living Daylights (Directed by John Glen)
Timothy Dalton / Maryam D'abo / Jeroen Krabbé / Walter Gottell / David Hedison / Robert Brown

1989 - Licence Revoked (Directed by Peter Hunt)
Timothy Dalton / Carey Lowell / Robert Davi / Desmond Llewelyn / David Hedison / Robert Brown
  • Felix is killed by the shark.
  • Bond quits the service at the end of the movie.
1991 - Licence Renewed (Director Peter Hunt)
Timothy Dalton / Christopher Walken / Michelle Pfeiffer / Judi Dench
  • Peter Hunt is brought back to direct a story that takes Bond to Austria, Jamaica, Japan and New York.
  • Judi Dench's first appearance as M, who is adament that Bond returns to the service after the sacking of her predecessor.
1993 - The Property of a Lady (Director Ted Kotcheff)
Timothy Dalton / Anthony Hopkins / Whoopie Goldberg / Judi Dench1995 - GoldenEye (Directed by Martin Campbell)

I'll make an attempt, but mine won't be as detailed or make as many changes to the earlier films as my knowledge of actors and/or directors from that time period is probably too limited to make too many effective changes to those earlier films.

The Sean Connery Era

DR. NO (1962)
  • Directed by Terence Young
  • Starring: Sean Connery / Ursula Andress / Joseph Wiseman / Jack Lord
  • The same film that EON made, more or less.
FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE (1963)
  • Directed by Terence Young
  • Starring: Sean Connery / Daniela Bianchi / Robert Shaw / Lotte Lenya
  • More or less the same film that EON made.
  • The only change would be that the film would retain the cliffhanger ending from the novel.
GOLDFINGER (1964)
  • Directed by Guy Hamilton
  • Starring: Sean Connery / Tania Mallet / Gert Frobe / Honor Blackman / Harold Sakata / Jack Lord
  • Basically the same film (I don't know how it could really be all that greatly improved, even though I'm not a fan of the film). I would give Tilly Masterson a more involved role in the film somehow, but other than that, few changes would be made.
THUNDERBALL (1965)
  • Directed by Terence Young
  • Starring: Sean Connery / Claudine Auger / Adolfo Celi / Jack Lord / Telly Savalas (voice)
  • The same film EON made, more or less. I'd do some trimming to the underwater sequences to make the film flow a bit better, and maybe some more work done to the ending to try to remedy the poor effects during the final action sequence aboard the yacht, but other than that no major changes.
ON HER MAJESTY'S SECRET SERVICE (1966)
  • Directed by Terence Young
  • Starring: Sean Connery / Dianna Rigg / Telly Savalas
  • A faithful telling of the novel, like the film, but with much better editing during the action sequences.
YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE (1968)
  • Directed by Terence Young
  • Starring: Sean Connery / Telly Savalas / Tetsuro Tanba / Mie Hama
  • A faithful telling of the novel. Blofeld dies in the end and Bond suffers from amnesia.
THE MAN WITH THE GOLDEN GUN (1970)
  • Directed by Terence Young
  • Starring: Sean Connery / Richard Burton / Julie Christie / Jack Lord
  • This would be a departure of sorts from the novel. Richard Burton would play "Scaramanga", a man who is very much the mirror image of Bond, and every bit as effective as Bond, if not better, when Bond is at his very best.
  • The film would begin with the attempted assassination of M by Bond and then feature him going on a mission to kill Scaramanga, with the two legendary assassins squaring off in various exotic locations around the globe, trying to gain the upper hand on the other and eventually score a kill on the other. The film would end with a train ride and then the subsequent hunt in the swamps of Jamaica, similar to the way the novel ends.
  • Julie Christie would play Goodnight instead of Britt Ekland.

THE ROGER MOORE ERA

DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER (1973)
  • Directed by Guy Hamilton
  • Starring Roger Moore / Robert Duvall
  • Robert Duvall would play one of the Spang Brothers (capitalizing on his turn in The Godfather the year before). I'm not sure who would play the other Spang brother or Tiffany Case.
  • The film would be more faithful to the novel than the original film, but would be adapted to suit Roger Moore's strengths, namely in terms of his comedic timing.
LIVE AND LET DIE (1974)
  • Directed by Guy Hamilton
  • Starring: Roger Moore / Jane Seymour / Yaphet Kotto / Jack Lord
  • Basically the same film EON made.
THE SPY WHO LOVED ME (1976)
  • Directed by Lewis Gilbert
  • Starring: Roger Moore / Barbara Bach / Curt Jurgens / Richard Kiel
  • More or less the same film EON made.
MOONRAKER (1979)
  • Directed by Lewis Gilbert
  • Starring: Roger Moore / Lois Chiles / Michael Lonsdale / Corinne Clery / Richard Kiel
  • A slightly more serious take on the EON film, with Bond not going into outer space at any point and Jaws not turning out to be a good guy in the end.

THE TIMOTHY DALTON ERA

FOR YOUR EYES ONLY (1981)
  • Directed by John Glen
  • Starring: Timothy Dalton / Carole Bouquet / Julian Glover / Topol
  • The same film EON made, although with a slightly harder-edge to suit Dalton's take on Bond.
OCTOPUSSY (1983)
  • Directed by John Glen
  • Starring: Timothy Dalton / Maud Adams / Louis Jordan / Steven Berkoff
  • Same plot idea as the original film. Bond would not suit up as a clown, however, and the many humerous elements of the film would be put aside to suit Dalton's interpretation of Bond.
FROM A VIEW TO A KILL (1985)
  • Directed by John Glen
  • Starring: Timothy Dalton / Daryl Hannah / Christopher Walken / Grace Jones / David Hedison
  • The same plot from the EON film would be retained, and many of the set pieces as well, but like the other Dalton films, it would be tailored to his style.
  • Daryl Hannah would replace Tanya Roberts, and the character would be Mary Ann Russel instead of Stacey Sutton.
  • David Hedison plays Felix Leiter, who serves as Bond's American contact, setting up his appearance in LTK a few years later.
THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS (1987)
  • Directed by John Glen
  • Starring: Timothy Dalton / Maryam D'Abo / Jeroen Krabbe / Joe Don Baker
  • The same film that EON gave us.
LICENCE TO KILL (1989)
  • Directed by John Glen
  • Starring: Timothy Dalton / Robert Davi / Carey Lowell / David Hedison
  • The same film that EON made.
LICENCE RENEWED (1992)
  • Directed by Sydney Pollack
  • Starring: Timothy Dalton / Antonio Banderas / Liam Neeson
  • A very loose adaptation of John Gardner's novel.
  • Bond begins the film unemployed. Neeson would play Murik and Banderas would play Franco.
GOLDENEYE (1995)
  • Directed by Martin Campbell
  • Starring: Timothy Dalton / Anthony Hopkins / Izabela Scorupco / Famke Janssen
  • Pretty much the same film, but with Hopkins serving as a Trevelyan character who was also once Bond's mentor rather than simply his colleague like we saw in the original.
  • This would mark the beginning of Eric Serra's tenure as the composer of the Bond films.

THE SEAN BEAN ERA

TOMORROW NEVER LIES (1997)
  • Directed by Martin Campbell
  • Starring: Sean Bean / Jonathan Pryce / Michelle Yeoh / Monica Bellucci
  • The same plot would remain, but the portion of the film set in China would be altered greatly to improve the pacing of the film and to make that stretch of the film more entertaining.
THE WORLD IS NOT ENOUGH (1999)
  • Directed by John Madden
  • Starring: Sean Bean / Sophie Marceau / Robert Carlyle / Jennifer Garner
  • The plot regarding the oil pipeline would remain the central plot.
  • There would be more mystery as to who the film's villain is. Marceau's performance would need to be more restrained to make Elektra seem more innocent throughout, and there would be more of a surprising twist when the film's villain is actually revealed.
DIE ANOTHER DAY (2002)
  • Directed by Stephen Spielberg
  • Starring: Sean Bean / Halle Berry / Toby Stephens / Sam Neill / Michael Madsen
  • Spielberg would be brought in to manage the 40th Anniversary film.
  • The basic plot of Bond being captured and then traded would remain.
  • Bond would operate rogue throughout the film, having been burned by MI6 after his escape from the ship in Hong Kong.
  • Falco and "M" would send Sam Neill's character, a former master spy, out to catch Bond. This character would hunt Bond down every where he goes, trying to either capture or kill him. Falco wants Neill's character to bring Bond back dead, while M urges him to bring Bond back alive, which would create tension between Falco and M throughout the film.

THE DANIEL CRAIG ERA

CASINO ROYALE (2006)
  • Directed by Martin Campbell
  • Starring: Daniel Craig / Eva Green / Jack Nicholson
  • Vast changes would be made to the structure of the film. The two big action sequences would either be trimmed down considerably (Miami) or cut entirely (Madagascar) to make more room in the second half of the film to address the Bond/Vesper romance.
  • The ending would feature Bond returning from killing Gettler to find Vesper dead in their hotel room. The final line of the novel would be intact here and in its correct context, unlike in the film.
  • Jack Nicholson would play Le Chiffre.
QUANTUM OF SOLACE (2008)
  • Directed by Marc Forster
  • Starring: Daniel Craig / Olga Kurylenko / Mathieu Amalric / Gemma Arterton
  • The same film EON made.
A WHISPER OF HATE (2010)
  • Directed by Marc Forster
  • Starring: Daniel Craig / Stana Katic / Jesper Christensen / Simon Kassianides
  • Bond and Corinne Veneau (from the final scene of QoS) would begin to unravel the Quantum organization based off of the information that Bond had obtained from Greene and Yusef during QoS.
SKYFALL (2012)
  • Directed by Sam Mendes
  • Starring: Daniel Craig / Javier Bardem / Naomi Harris / Ralph Fiennes
  • ????
THE NATURE OF EVIL (2015)
  • Directed by David Fincher
  • Starring: Daniel Craig / Yvonne Strahovski / James Woods / Paula Patton
  • Woods would play the villain, whose plot would involve the release of a virus that could cause destruction on a global scale if his demands are not met.
  • Strahovski would play Mary Goodnight.

This is an amusing exercise. If I were in charge of rewriting the history of the Bond franchise, I'd mix things up quite a bit. I'd adapt the books in a more logical order. I'd remove Moore and Brosnan altogether, inflate Lazenby and Dalton to six films apiece, and make Sean Bean the fourth Bond actor. I'd recast Felix Leiter to be more like my impression of him (Robert Conrad, then Corbin Bernsen). I'd have Lotte Lenya and Ilse Steppat trade roles, so that Irma Bunt could reappear in a second film. I'd keep the post-Connery films on a steady biennial rate, so that by 2012 we'd have had twenty-six Bond films instead of twenty-two.

Sean Connery / Bernard Lee / Lois Maxwell / Robert Conrad (1962 - 1967)

1. Dr No (1962) - Quarrel survives, Robert Conrad plays Felix Leiter (and holds the role until 1976).
2. From Russia With Love (1963) - Ends ambiguously, with Bond possibly dead. Rosa Klebb played by Ilse Steppat.
3. Goldfinger (1964) - Pussy Galore leads a criminal gang, and is obviously a lesbian.
4. Thunderball (1965) - No change.
5. Diamonds Are Forever (1967) - A close adaptation of the novel ; Frank Sinatra as a composite of the Spang brothers, Joey Heatherton as Tiffany Case, Peter Graves as Peter Franks.

In 1968, Sean Connery is succeeded by George Lazenby. The lineup remains otherwise unchanged.

George Lazenby / Bernard Lee / Lois Maxwell / Robert Conrad (1969 - 1980)

6. On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969) - Irma Bunt played by Lotte Lenya.
7. You Only Live Twice (1972) - A faithful adaptation of the novel, with Telly Savalas reprising the role of Blofeld and Lotte Lenya reprising the role of Bunt.
8. The Man With the Golden Gun (1974) - A close adaptation of the novel, but transposed from Jamaica to Mexico ; Ricardo Montalban as Francisco Scaramanga, Olivia Hussey as his girlfriend, Robert Conrad as Felix Leiter.
9. The Hildebrand Rarity (1976) - An original story involving a joint CIA-MI6 operation in Iran ; Warren Beatty as American ambassador Milton Krest, Jane Seymour as Mrs Krest, Vernon Dobtcheff as an Iranian opium exporter. Robert Conrad's sixth and final appearance as Felix Leiter.
10. Moonraker (1978) - A faithful adaptation ; Edward Fox as Sir Hugo Drax, Lesley-Anne Down as Gala Brand. Bernard Lee's final appearance as M.
11. For Your Eyes Only (1980) - No Bibi Dahl. Lazenby's sixth and final appearance as Bond.

In 1981, George Lazenby is succeeded by Timothy Dalton. The role of M is assumed by Robert Brown. Lois Maxwell is succeeded by Caroline Bliss. Beginning in 1988, the role of Felix Leiter is assumed by Corbin Bernsen.

Timothy Dalton / Robert Brown / Caroline Bliss / Corbin Bernsen (1982 - 1992)

12. Octopussy (1982) - An original story of Anglo-Indian intrigue ; Amitabh Bachchan as India's top spy, Donald Pleasence as Major Dexter Smythe, Persis Khambatta as Smythe's half-Indian daughter.
13. The Property of a Lady (1984) - Anglo-Russian intrigue ; Peter Ustinov as the KGB's London chief, Judy Davis as KGB informer Maria Freudenstein, Helena Bonham Carter as her ingenuous sister, Walter Gotell as General Gogol.
14. From a View to a Kill (1986) - Original story set in South Africa and Australia ; Christopher Walken as a South African hardliner who tries to start a nuclear war.
15. The Living Daylights (1988) - No change, except Corbin Bernsen as Felix Leiter and Walter Gotell in the place of Pushkin.
16. Live and Let Die (1990) - A loose adaptation of the novel, set in Haiti, Detroit, and Toronto ; Uma Thurman as Solitaire, James Earl Jones as Mr. Big, Corbin Bernsen as Felix Leiter, Naveen Andrews as Quarrel.
17. GoldenEye (1992) - Alan Rickman as Augustus Trevelyan, Corbin Bernsen as Felix Leiter (in lieu of Jack Wade), Walter Gotell as retired General Gogol (in lieu of Valentin Zukovsky). Dalton's sixth and final appearance as Bond. Walter Gotell's final appearance as General Gogol.

In 1993, Dalton is succeeded by Sean Bean. Robert Brown is succeeded by Judi Dench. Caroline Bliss remains in the role of Moneypenny. Corbin Bernsen leaves the role of Felix Leiter, and the role remains vacant until 2006.

Sean Bean / Judi Dench / Caroline Bliss / no Felix (1994 - 2004)

18. Licence to Kill (1994) - Bond goes after an IRA-linked drug lord who has relocated to Spain ; Ciarán Hinds as Frank Sands, Penelope Cruz as his girlfriend Lupe, Julianne Moore as an Irish reporter investigating Sands, Miguel Sandoval as the chief of police of Ibiza.
19. Tomorrow Never Lies (1996) - A British news tycoon tries to start a war between Israel and Turkey ; Jonathan Pryce as Elliot Harmsway, Milla Jovovich as Major Gat of the Mossad, Pedro Armendariz Jr as Mustafa Kerim, son of Kerim Bey.
20. The World Is Not Enough (1998) - Gillian Anderson as Christmas Jones. M subplot removed completely. Zukovsky's first and only appearance.
21. The Spy Who Loved Me (2000) - An original story set in China ; Anthony Hopkins as a British engineer who has devised a method of drowning the entire population of Taiwan, Eric Tsang as a Shanghainese billionaire who pays him to do it, and Xu Jinglei as the billionaire's trophy wife.

Nice timeline Pussfeller....

Agreed! Very detailed and some nice story ideas.

Unfortunately for me, I initially misread the title of movie #26 on your list though... Made my blood run slightly cold!

.1977 - Moonraker (Director Peter Hunt)
Roger Moore / Katharine Hepburn / Michael Lonsdale / Bernard Lee

  • Bond meets Drax and Blades
  • The movie is very fun and over the top, but very entertaining.
  • Katharine Hepburn plays Gala Brand

Katherine Hepburn would have been 70 in 1977. A bit old for a Bond girl if you ask me.

For Your Eyes Only (Timothy Dalton) Octopussy (Timothy Dalton) From A View To A Kill (Timothy Dalton) The Living Daylights (Timothy Dalton) Licence Revoked (Timothy Dalton) Licence Renewed (Timothy Dalton) The Property Of A Lady (Timothy Dalton) GoldenEye (Timothy Dalton)

EIGHT films with Dalton? Even as a Dalton fan that's too much to dream of

I'll try to come up with something when I have time, but my knowledge of the pre 90s movie world outside of Bond is very limited so it won't be as detailed.

2004 - Everything or Nothing - similar to the game, no Jaws, no invisible suit, Diavolo is student of Renard rather than Zorin

2006 - Casino Royale - Daniel Craig as Bond - exact same film, except the film ends with the beach scene where Bond tells Vesper he loves her and would quit his job to be with her
2008 - Quantum of Solace - film opens with Venice sequence, much less action in the first half of the film, film ends with Bond killing Mr. White before finding more information on Guy Haines

2012 - Skyfall
2014
2016 - Craig's final Bond film

Ok here goes:

Connery era: 5 films

1962: Dr. No- Identical to EON version, except Honey is going to be attacked by crabs instead of drowning. Jack Lord is Leiter.

1963: From Russia With Love- Film mostly identical to EON version, minus Sylvia Trench. Does not end on boat, but when Bond gets poisoned.

1964: Goldfinger- Bond is rescued after being poisoned in FRWL. Follows the same plot until Tilly is killed. She survives and accompanies Bond to Kentucky. She is killed as a lesson to Bond after he escapes his cell. Bond foils plot at Fort Knox after being handcuffed to bomb. Pussy still contacts Washington. Jack Lord is Leiter again.

1965: Thunderball- Same as EON film except Jack Lord is Leiter again. Telly Savalas' voice is used for Blofeld.

1967: Diamonds Are Forever- No Blofeld, the Spang brothers are the villains and no Willard Whyte, Plenty O'toole, or Bambi/Thumper. Frank Sinatra sings the theme song.

Lazenby era: 4 films

1969: On Her Majesty's Secret Service- Same as EON film. Telly Savalas is Blofeld. Tracy dies in the final scene.

1971: You Only Live Twice- PTS Bond fails a mission and is removed from active duty. Several months later, M reinstates Bond as 7777 and sends him to Japan to investigate a possible nuclear threat. The film is a cross between EON's effort and the novel. Ends with Bond killing Blofeld at the volcano lair and preventing WW3. Much sadder ending as Bond parts ways with Kissy and flies back to England where he and M talk shortly at Tracy's grave.

1973: Live and Let Die- Follows much of the same plot as the film, except no 9 foot Baron Samedi. Also, takes place in New Orleans and Haiti not San Monique. David Hedison is cast as Felix.

1975: The Man with the Golden Gun- Film moved back to Jamaica from Macau and Thailand. The energy subplot is dropped. Faye Dunaway is cast as Mary Goodnight. The fun house is removed and instead the duel takes place in a Jamaican jungle.

Moore Era: 3 films

1977: The Spy Who Loved Me- Same as EON film. Moneypenny recast with Michaela Clavell.

1979: For Your Eyes Only- Same as EON film, minus Bibi Dahl.

1981: Moonraker- Same as EON film leading to a recasting of Bond. No M due to Bernard Lee's death.

Dalton Era: 5 films

1983: Octopussy- Same as EON film, except Tarzan yell is removed. No clown suit and the aerostar scene from the PTS is changed. Instead, the PTS is set 10 years earlier when Bond tracks down Major Dexter Smythe. Rita Coolidge's song is replaced. Robert Brown cast as M, still Miles Masservy.

1985: From a View to a Kill- Tanya Roberts is eliminated and Pola Ivanova has a bigger part. Zorin steals the microchip technology to sell to the Russians, but doublecrosses them to sell it himself. No San Francisco and no blimp. The section in France is longer and the climax is in Eastern Europe. Pola and Mayday are the main Bond girls. Jenny Flex is eliminated.

1987: The Living Daylights- Largely the same film, except Koskov kills Whitaker after Whitaker becomes useless and the finale in Tangier is Bond vs. Koskov. Kara Milovy is recast with Alison Doody. John Terry is cast as Leiter.

1989: Licence Revoked- John Terry remains as Leiter, otherwise same as EON film. Dalton's hair is done better.

1992: The Property of a Lady- Follows the plot of the novel Moonraker, except no Drax. Anthony Hopkins is the villain and the plot is updated to reflect the Vietnam War as opposed to WW2. Gala Brand is played by Courtney Cox. The film takes place in the UK, US (Washington) and Vancouver, Canada. At the end, Miles Masservy officially retires from SIS.

Clive Owen era: 5 films

1996: Goldeneye- Same as EON film except a crippled Felix Leiter appears, not Jack Wade. Judi Dench and Samantha Bond join the cast.

1998: The World Is Not Enough- Largely follows the plot of Tomorrow Never Dies. There is no Paris Carver or Danish professor. Surrender is the title song. Leiter again appears instead of Wade.

2000: Risico- Follows the basic plot of The World Is Not Enough. Christmas Jones is recast as Jennifer Aniston. Desmond Llewellyn retires as Q and is replaced by John Cleese.

2002: Die Another Day- Follows the first half the EON film, second half is reworked with no invisible car, ice palace or CGI wave. Miranda Frost is the main Bond girl and Jinx is eliminated. Different title song.

2004: Everything or Nothing- Follows the plot of the game, minus the invisible car and stealth suit.

Daniel Craig era: 5 films (rebooted)

2006: Casino Royale- Same as EON film.

2009: Quantum of Solace- Largely same as EON film. The shaky camera is removed, the film is 15 minutes longer. Fields has a slightly bigger part as does Leiter.

2012: Skyfall- Same as EON film.

2014: Shatterhand- Bond travels to Canada, New Orleans and Japan to track Guntram Shatterhand, played by Michael Fassbender, who is using the plants at his Castle of Death to manufacture a biological weapon. Olivia Wilde plays an American scientist, Elizabeth Kane and Yvonne Strahovski plays the traitorous Muffin Heat aka Agent 3030. At the Castle of Death, Bond stops Shatterhand (revealed as the head of Quantum) and Heat and parts ways with Kane. Mr. White is killed. The film ends with the lines: "007 to MI6....3030 was a double....Yes dammit I said was. She's dead now." Muse sings the title song.

2016: A Whisper of Hate- Bond averts WW3 after a war breaks out in the North Caucasus. Liam Neeson plays the villainous Alexei Zhukov, the Russian agent behind the Russian-Georgian War. Elena Marisova is the main Bond girl played by Yuliya Snigir who dies at the film's climax on Mount Elbrus. Mirjam Weichselbraun plays the mysterious Gretchen Ritter. Naveen Andrews plays terrorist leader Imran El-Hashim. It is revealed that Shatterhand and Quantum were behind the whole war as a way to take over Russia to gain access to 13,000 nuclear weapons. Linkin Park sings the title song. The film takes place in Kuala Lumpur, Syria, Moscow, the North Caucasus with small parts in Turkey and France.
