After having gone through a couple of weeks of having the 'Casino Royale' and 'Quantum Of Solace' score in my car driving around to work and out and about etc, I am sure I may have broken some laws getting caught up in the music, epescially 'Miami International', 'African Rundown', 'Oil Fields' and 'Time To Get Out' for haunting espionage music, Bond riffs and pulsating action music!

I was wondering, what do you drivers, or even just out about walking maybe, which specific Bond scores or themes make you drive that bit more like Bond and you see the cars passing by as enemy Alfa Romeos or agents of SPECTRE you have to evade? When you're walking around, which piece of music always manages to turn you into a super spy passing through enemy soil evading those around you as you get to where you need to go alive!

Please share you guilty pleasures of Bond music that turns YOU into James Bond either driving or on foot!

I don't let any music inspire me to drive irresponsibly, not even 007 soundtracks.

That said, The soundtracks to TB, OHMSS, DAF & LALD live in my car, along with classical, 70s oldies and lounge jazz of the John Barry Seven variety. Those are - for me - the best sort of music to listen to while driving, while everyone else around me listens to pumped-up rock and imagines himself Remy Julien or Dale Earhard.

When walking, my anthem is either Trespassers Will be Eaten or Whisper Who Dares (both from LALD). George Martin provides the perfect cadence for practicing that walk which Roger Moore described as "looking like I'll walk through a wall."

The magic of making a playlist these days has lead to many tracks. Aside from all the Bond tracks from every film (including some unreleased tracks thanks to some fellow members here) I have six subfolders. "Behind the Wheel", "In the Air", "Arrivals and Departures", "An Evening Out", "By Any Means" and "On Foot"

I'll get around to the listings, but it will take a while. However, driving out to Vegas years ago for one of my Bond events, it was, to say the least, magical. It timed out perfectly out of L.A. melding with and negotiating through the traffic starting with "Bond and the Bongos" and perfectly ending with "Blunt Instrument" as I pulled up and stopped at the Valet at my hotel approximately three hours and thirty-seven minutes later non-stop.

BEST...DRIVE....EVER!

I assure you AMC...I don't drive like I am in the 'Quantum Of Solace' pre-title sequence of even in a French taxi from 'A View To A Kill' - it's simply music that turns what you see everyday into something a bit more..Bond-like!

The 'suave' level of my demeanor immediately increases whenever I listen to Bond 77 from The Spy Who Loved Me. Such a fantastic track, especially when the heavy strings come in for the 'vamp' bit of the Bond theme.

I suck in my cheeks, raise a laconic eyebrow, and stroll around looking completely unruffled whenever that bad boy parps away in my ears. I'm sure I look like a colossal t**t to everyone else, though.

Definitely The OHMSS Soundtrack, Perhaps Because It Is My Favorite In The Series. Very Unique.
I'd Have To Say The DAF, And GoldenEye Soundtracks Are Tied For A Close Second.

Wow, which one doesn't?

...oh yeah, Octopussy doesn't.

First one was Bond 77 (TSWLM)

But now i think it has to be Goldfinger ;)

ETA: And OHMSS is the best piece of music ever written :))) Not good for the passengers if it comes on while i'm driving (or the price of insurance premiums in general :)

I third that! I frequently listen to the On Her Majesty's Service or Live and Let Die albums, while in the car or otherwise. Thunderball is also great, although I think the formerly mentioned two movies have music that's a bit more casually "listenable." Thunderball, while very good, reminds me more of a movie soundtrack than, at times, a jazz CD.

My favorite pieces from them are these:

Whenever I listen to these, I'm overcome with a cool, calm, collected, and confident demeanor, and I'm ready to get right down to business. That's what "being James Bond" feels like to me.

Those are excellent choices!

Our good friend Professor Dent re-issues a collection of Bond songs for in the car every time a new soundtrack appears. I should rotate that back into the Cd changer and enjoy his excellent selections. :)

The Sniper Was A Woman (The Living Daylights) used to do it for me. I think I've listened to it too many times now though. African Rundown to a lesser extent. Some other Bond Barry tracks too but I can't remember their names. Back in 1999/2000 when I listened to Ice Bandits I used to picture myself skiing down a mountain pursued by bandits. LOL.

When I'm driving up in the hills it's the "Alpine Drive" from Goldfinger...and at night (by the neon dashboard light) it's Bond '77.

Just to clear my mind it's "Flight into Space" form Moonraker...Which is also my favorite soundtrack & the one I listen the most...

From the recent era it's African Rundown, Vesper & The Names Bond...James Bond.

Great choices.

Live and Let Die is genius - Paul McCartney perfectly sums up the whole of Fleming's opus in just a couple of versus. If only the script writer's could be as exacting.

I'll second that one. One of the best themed scores for a Bond movie yet - it encapsulates everything about the era and then some.

I've just had 'Golden Gate Fight' on my iPod and I forget how much that makes me want to battle some bad guys in a car chase, or save my office block from a terror squad and save the day...or something...!
