Hello all,

It's been a good while since I've done any bond related music... well since, my Golden Bullet album. That being said, I had an amazing idea about two weeks ago while going through some oddities of my bond collection. Back in the early 90s, a bond comic series (spread across 3 books) called Serpents Tooth was released to the masses. It had some very quirky elements, but at the same time... while flipping through said books, now almost 20 years later, I noticed that there were quite a few scenes that were quite ripe for scoring. I also felt that this provide a great chance for me to sort of re-invent my sound as a bond fan composer now that Newman has been brought on to score Skyfall. So without further delay, here is the first piece of music from my Serpents Tooth series with (hopefully) many more to follow as I get em done. They'll be posted here rather than starting a new thread.

This score will be kept fairly traditional with little to no usage of electronic elements. In fact the first track is devoid of any contemporary instruments whatsoever (save for the guitar of course).

If you plan on using this in fan projects I'd appreciate a credit and a plug of my website http://www.richdouglas.net

All tracks can be downloaded here (complete with correct ID3 tags):

Nice stuff, Rich! And a great gunbarrel, as always. Looking forward to hear more!

You went and scored Serpent's Tooth?!

You are the man, Rich. I look forward to listening to it soon. Never would have seen it coming.

You are one talented fellow. That was very enjoyable. Now, I'll have to dig out my comic for the full effect.

I didn't know such a comic book existed!

The first piece sounds genuinely stunning, you should keep the rest in this tone, largely without electroncis.

Thanks all.... having tons of fun with this little project! They're very quirky Gk... but worth picking up. You can find the complete 3 book set on ebay for $6 to $10.

Just finished up the second track in my Serpents Tooth series, and have also scanned the appropriate pages to go along with the music to help set it up :). Enjoy!

Once again, these tracks can all be downloaded via the link listed in the first post.

I didn't know such a comic book existed!

I've had the third volume of Serpent's Tooth for years. Wouldn't mind getting the previous two for a bit of harmless fun, actually.

Rich,

"Sinking The Sub" was a bit too much "Capsule In Space" for me. However, "A Little Interference" seemed a much more deft touch and I really loved the way you ended it. Caught me by surprise in a good way. Cheers.

Nice work. "Sinking The Sub" sounds straight out of OCTOPUSSY. The first half, at least.

Send it to Paul Gulacy, the artist for this book. (And one of the best ever.) Met him once and he loved working on this project. I bet he'd appreciate this. Maybe you could reach him via his website.

A fun thing to do would be to make one of those motion comic things and pop it on youtube.

Hello, Rich!

Great stuff again, man.
Loved the golden Bullet score too.
Maybe you could tell me were to get ur other Bond music work, Rich?
I lost that great B.S.L.T.W score, which one I really liked.
Keep up the good work.

Has this project stalled out? If so, it's a shame, since I really dig what you've turned out so far, Rich.

Nope, hasn't stalled out....life and constant work have just slowed me down. Never fear, more coming sooner than you might think. In fact, I've almost finished the Lima car chase cue and believe me when I say its definitely some of the best bond action material I've done to date! Stay tuned.

Devlin, I'll see if I can dig up my bsltw score. If I can, I'll remaster it and post a new thread.

Hi Rich. As usual you really come up with the goods. Wonderful music. Gunbarrel and sinking the sub were breathtaking! Thanks for the great work.

'A little interference' is a classic!

Resourceful Girl takes me back to the eighties Bond feel I don't know why. I love it. There is a hard edge to the music.

About to finish a 5 minute cue for the Paradiso Industries scene....man its turning out great!! The cue even references two of my favorite cues, one from OHMSS and an epic rousing rendition of a piece from AVTAK. Thrilling stuff and both hold up very nicely in an updated sense. Stay tuned!

Rich, the use of "Snow Job" in that last track was mind-blowing. It gives the tune such a dark vibe and its brilliant!
