I still say they should have gone with their first pick. Spot the Goldfinger golf hommage. A subtle nod to CR's ball torture and DAF's Mr Kidd and Mr Wint. I see Cec Linder's panama hat. What other Bond hommages do you see?

Not as good as the original, but I thought I'd share my attempt at a 50th Anniversary poster. :)

I like the idea of it, but it makes me think that two-Bond-silhouettes-in-one is one too many... otherwise maybe it's just the partial gunbarrel within the complete gunbarrel that makes my eyes confused.

I find the official GF inspired poster very weak. A lack of imagination. No real design, no real logo.
Hopefully they'll come up with something better next time.

Weird, this 50 year anniversary. Makes me realize how old I am. And will we still be around for the 100th anniversary?

SecretAgentFan, you hit the nail on the head. I find it very hard to deal with the fact that they ... whoever they turn out to be ... will probably continue to make Bond films after I'm dead. I can't believe there'll be Bond films I'll never get to see!

Why oh why keep the 007 logo behind both Tomorrow Never Dies and The World is Not Enough!?

I understand it being worked into CR and QoS's logos, but those two are just unnecessary...

My thoughts exactly! Very strange and lazy choice, imo. At least with TND it's kinda understandable, seeing as basically all of its posters had the 007 entwined as such. But as for TWINE, no way! Both its US and international 1-sheet used a much smaller 007 logo and "underline effect. Sheesh EON!

In the end it's unsurprising though, and considering the long list of much worse errors (The NSNA Connery photo appearing in the YOLT DVD booklet etc) I guess this is liveable! :)

I agree. The official poster is underwhelming.

I find the official poster simple yet startlingly effective.

Jill Masterson's body painted gold is THE defining image from the Bond films. I think the poster speaks volumes without being cluttered with various pics of the 6 actors who have played Bond or whatever other ideas they might have had for it.

“We have a whole programme of exciting activities planned for our 50th anniversary year, beginning with today’s announcement, by Fox, of the release of all 22 films on Blu-ray for the very first time. We are also delighted that Fox have unveiled a specially designed anniversary poster which we hope the fans will love as much as we do. Our website, 007.com will be regularly updated with all the latest anniversary news and events,” said Bond producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli.

This is no big deal but I noticed that the first column of films are all the ones featuring Bernard Lee as M

I don't think EON designed this (or the DVD covers and booklets). That's usually the job of a graphic design company. But they would have approved or rejected it so they probably didn't notice rather than didn't care.
With regards to the Special Edition DVD covers/booklets I can only assume they didn't have time to redesign them for EON, I doubt EON liked them very much, they're not only artistically uninspiring but technically inadequate, too.

I'm wondering the same thing. I really want to get this poster, is it going to be at Wal-Mart so to say are we going to be able to find it at poster stands?

I still think it's a cracking poster. Perfect desktop material (before the 'Skyfall' poster of course!).

I bet the picture on my Nintendo Wii menu already. : ) I'd just like the poster on my wall but who knows maybe the SF poster will blow us away and I'll want that one instead.

I don't know if anyone else has mentioned this elsewhere on the forums yet, but today I saw the 50th Anniversary poster for sale here in the UK in WH Smith. Presumably it's in HMV and all those places as well.

Interesting.

It will be a licensed print as opposed to an 'original'. But to be honest, the only place I have seen what could be called an original is when it was distributed at the San Diego Comic Convention.
