I don't think it's intentional. Naughty Dog have admitted that they write their action sequences first and build the plot round them, and when they write their action sequences, they look back at the sequences in the previous game and turn everything up to eleven.I was playing the amazing game Uncharted, and, well, take a look, seem familiar?
