This is a great game. I am playing through it now. Their is also a footchase through a city and over rooftops that really reminds me of the one in Casino Royale.

I don't think it's intentional. Naughty Dog have admitted that they write their action sequences first and build the plot round them, and when they write their action sequences, they look back at the sequences in the previous game and turn everything up to eleven.
