The thought of Bond pulling off into an alley - well, dear oh dear.

The drive up could lead to M's big reveal to Bond of exactly what her past actions were and the results that are presently taking place. This might also lend itself to Bond pulling off and the two having a moment discussing it. It could be rather dramatic. A sort of pivotal scene.
Sorry; reading this again actually made me crack up. One can only imagine what those actions were and the results taking place to make Bond have to pull off immediately. Pivotal indeed.
I'm going to take some growing up pills now.

Perhaps it's more a chase in spirit rather than in letter. Bond is driving M to safety, and while he doesn't spot a tail, he can't afford to take the chance that there is no tail at all and drives accordingly. The more I think about it, the more I feel a DB5 car chase isn't likely at all. I think it will just be M getting driven to safety. If you look at the structure of it, this part with the DB5 appears a few scenes after the massive London car chase sequence. You think they'd put another car chase in?

For some reason whenever a car is being filmed everyone jumps on that as being proof of a car chase.

Talking of the BMW Z3, I don't know it's coincidence or homage, but one of the other cars on Vauxhall Bridge during filming today was a Z3.
Heh, maybe we'll see a cameo of each Bond car from all the films at some point in the background! That could be done really subtly and be pretty cool actually. It's probably more a coincidence though, it would be alot of effort.

Actually, I was thinking more of high-speed driving in general.I expect we'll see some squealing tyres; maybe a quick manoeuvre to fox someone

JAMES Bond's iconic bullet-firing Aston Martin DB5 is making a comeback in the latest 007 blockbuster.
Daniel Craig drives the legendary silver sports car, armed with machine guns, in a chase scene in new film Skyfall.
It still bears the same BMT 216A number plate it sported on its 1964 bow in Goldfinger, when Sean Connery played 007.
The car also appeared in Thunderball, Casino Royale, Tomorrow Never Dies and GoldenEye — but this will be the first time since its debut it has been armed and used by Bond in a chase.
The DB5, complete with a "weapons dashboard", was seen during filming in Glencoe, Scotland.
Its return marks the film franchise's 50th anniversary. A Skyfall source said: "This car defines everything that is James Bond. It looks good and goes like a rocket. There's a real buzz about its return."
@The Dove: sorry, I didn't see your previous post.

In the early books Bond kept a classic car as his personal car: it was a pre-1930 Bentley , if I remind correctly.
Keeping a classic car - instead of a contemporary one - just for the love of driving it, is a hallmark of his personality.
Reintroducing the Aston Martin DB5 as Bond's personal car for Skyfall and using it as classic car in the same way the Bentley was used in the 50s, is the right choice in my opinion and it's a good omen for a "classic Bond".
It seems that Top Gear has recently read CBN

"Surely the arrival of the DB5 is a good omen for a James Bond film? Despite not allying strictly to Fleming's original spec - the Bond in the books drove a Bentley - it remains the definitive 007 car ".

Since it seems that Craig's 007 held onto it since CR, it would stand to reason that he'd have it not only converted toa RHD but also want some work on it done by Q Branch and it sounds like more then just a print out receiver and a chilled bottle of bubbly.
