Um....

"The Wharf can exclusively reveal that some scenes will be shot at The Four Seasons Hotel in Westferry Circus. In the best secret service tradition the hotel refused to comment."

Windsor Castle is right there, seems pointless being there if it doesn't feature. Having said that, Windsor isn't miles away from Pinewood (well, it is miles away.... just not that many) so it may just be a conveniently nearby location for some exterior shots of .... an estate agent, which this seems to be.

A spokeswoman said: "We would not usually say which locations we are using anyway."
This isn't the same person that said last week (regarding the decision of changing the location for the film finale):"When we have an announcement to make about the location we will be sure to send out a press release.”
That's for sure!

Would you like to see a horse race in the next Bond movie? Seems that they are going to shoot in Royal Ascot today! ;)
(which is only 7 miles far from Windsor Castle...)

where did you get that from? And it interesting that they are using London for many of the scenes it seems!

It's probably doubling for something else. Like Epsom Racecourse did on GoldenEye (St. Petersburg Airport).

Someone filming at Ascot today, presumably an extra, posted the following on Twitter earlier:
Starring in new bond - Skyfall and have to give a talk to 300 Chinese extras

News from Skyfall: today they filmed a scene set at the Shanghai International Airport.I think that the 300 extras were used in that scene.
Pinyin Shànghǎi Pǔdōng Guójì Jīcháng means Shanghai-Pudong International Airport. Most likely the official photo released today refers to the airport. Stay tuned for the next news! ;)

What a sense of humour! They filmed more than one scene obviously. One of them was set at The Shanghai International Airport.

Good info, thanks!

Assuming the Shanghai Airport scenes were shot at Ascot Racecourse, then I reckon the official photo was for a separate shoot at Pinewood tonight. The scene is obviously another from China, so could equally be the airport, but difficult to say for certain.

Keep up the good work, Luigi!

Ascot Racecourse: Posted Image Last used in A VIEW TO A KILL, but not impossible to imagine as an airport.

Thanks Vauxhall! It's obvious that they filmed some interior scenes most likely at Ascot racecourse,(potential)external shooting will be done on location.

Eh? I'm just saying: they've used a racecourse to double as an airport before.

Not sure what you think I meant as I'm a bit baffled by your reply...?

Could just be using it as a street? Does seem odd that they would be filming THERE, specifically, but then we don't know what the script calls for. It is very near to both Windsor Castle and St George's Chapel, though. Although I guess technically the chapel is part of the castle.

If it was an interior and filmed on a sound stage at Pinewood, they would not have to film at night for night, if you see what I mean.
A night shoot interior says that they were out of the studio to me.

Sure they're not even supposed to have their phones out at all on set. Reckon we're pretty lucky to have got any "unofficial" pictures from a closed set.

Yep, I'm going to backtrack on my initial post. After seeing the pictures that emerged, it seems clear that the night shoot referred to on the @007 Twitter feed was indeed at Ascot.

It looks as if the National Gallery will be appearing as the National Gallery.
Here is an actress playing an “Art Gallery Goer” in Skyfall.

I can totally understand the need for a location to double Shanghai airport..due to the complex logistics involved with trying to arrange shooting schedules at an actual airport, it's simpler to find a location to double.. the modern architecture of Ascot has a good look to it, in my opinion.

Clearly, they can film exterior establishing shots of the actual airport and then use the interior of Ascot to double as the interior of the airport. The two do look quite similar from the inside.

One thing I'm still curious about is what has replaced the India/South Africa locations. Granted, Scotland has doubled for pretty much everything in the Bond movies, from the Mediterranean to St. Petersburg to North Korea, so maybe all those train scenes they spoke of will simply be moved to there.

I can honestly see Daniel Craig battered and bruised standing in his room, looking out over the Thames. Very classy indeed.

I have a feeling that London might be in the film for longer than we actually thought. I presume Bonds staying there. Why would he be staying in London? What about his flat? Hmmm. The questions!

Excellent point Mharkin...it seems to me that about a year or so ago that Barbara Broccoli did say they were expecting to film a lot of Bond 23 in London...seems to me that I recall reading such a story.

The thing is, as I understand it, they are not filming in the rooms. They are filming in the spa and pool area, which is rather special…
