What do we wanna see in SKYFALL people, Gunbarrel, Q, Blofeld DB5.....
Share your thoughts
GB007
The Gunbarrel back at the begining
The new Q's own type jokes with Bond, when showing Bond the gadgets and Daniel Craig with his own version grin and so on. That is IF there is Q in the movie.
The famous Bond lines used again in the movie.
Stop dressing the Layer Cake T-Shirt style and do the mix and match sport coat and dress pants like Pierce Brosnan in Goldeneye the day after in Monte Carlo, when he investigate the boat. And Roger Moore in that scene in For Your Eyes Only. Well this ONLY when it is needed, and what fit Daniel Craig that way.
Dress and go paramilitary IF a scene calls for it.
Daniel Craig's version of Bond doing small talk with the baddie.

A new composer (or Eric Serra).
The 007 theme (for sake already).
Moneypenny (female, please).
Q (non-Cleese; gay or Welsh or whatever).
Felix Leiter (ain't gonna happen, but it'd be nice).
A villain who isn't a shrimp (check!).
Minimal Denchitude (less than TWINE, pleasejesus.)
Sir Miles (dare to dream!).
An upbeat ending.
And I'll be satisfied.

Sufficent plot to last two hours or so.
An absence of the now tangible sense of acute embarassment about being involved in it, from those involved in it.
Killin'.

Some excellent villains (Blofeld a bonus)
Some excellent action sequences that mesh well with the plot, have purpose as well as being stunning and exciting.
Don't care if there's a Moneypenny or Q. Neither was right after Maxwell and Llewellyn.

- Glamour, style and a touch of the bizarre.
- A decent runtime that doesn’t gloss over details, or feel rushed.
- Character motivations explored more in depth.
- A loosened up Bond. Over Vesper, a bit more humour and adding notches to his bedpost.
- Though when the times comes to fight, the ‘roll up your sleeves’ Craig grit remains.
- Gun barrel at the start.
- Bond introducing himself and ordering his trademark drink.
- James Bond Theme utilised in full during the film.
- A few pieces of equipment. From Q would be a plus.
- And last but not least, a movie worthy of the occasion.

Jim, your sudden embrace of "ginormous" is hilarious. Until now I've associated it with my Farmvilling aunts from the deep south. I would never have expected a sophistimacated Briton to use it.
You'd be surprised; every thirty pages of any AJP Taylor and you'll find all the letters in the phrase "ginormous bazongas". Fact.

What do we wanna see in SKYFALL people
Sound and movement of some sort?

With all the excitement about Skyfall now in production, and all the snaps, rumours and press releases etc...
...I was just thinking about what we, the fans, want to see from James Bond's return in Skyfall. We've had the rumours and interviews, so what do you want to take place (not THINK will take place)?
Who do you want to see in the film? What storyline do you want? What sort of music do you want to hear? Do you want the gunbarrel to return before the PTS?
To start the sky falling (see what I did there?) I'll give you mine:
We will have the gunbarrel back to start a brand new, classic Bond film. No pre-title link like 'QoS' to 'CR' and now Bond IS Bond, we've earnt this!
A hard-hitting pre-title sequence and decent Bond theme with less rock and more...suaveness (if that makes sense?)
I want a story that has few trust issues between M and Bond because they are meant to be on the same side and it was veering of course during Casino Royale (slightly) and pretty much de-railed during Quantum of Solace. So if M does have the past creep up on her, Bond should stick with her and his loyalty and do all he can to help and solve the problem as only Bond can. And forgive me for thinking Judi Dench has run her course as M, so would love to see Albert Finney step in, or another male actor, to take M back to being a tough male superior who doesn't leave the office much to re-wire clocks in prison cells, get kidnapped or travel the globe like she is just another field agent.
I just want something more akin to Casino Royale, but obviously with no origins now. I am hoping the music will feature far more of the James Bond theme also, because I do want a Bond film, not a pre-007-status film!
Gunbarrel. James Bond theme music. Bond working close with MI6. Classy title song. That's all I need.
Look forward to hearing your wants!

2. I want there to be more spying and less shoe-horned action scenes. I'm more for some intense suspense and thrills than spectacular explosion after explosion. I always like a few good fist fights - and Daniel Craig is superb at these. Put these in instead of lots of mindless shooting things to pieces. Also whilst on this topic I want less Bond "one man army stuff". That said I would love to see a decent Bond Baddie base battle again between two armies at the end - as in the older movies!
3. Some sadism, both from Bond and the baddies. A Bond film is only as good as it's baddies - so make them strong this time around!
4. Glamourous locales. Have to say that toilet location photo isn't inspiring me greatly - but I'll reserve judgement!
5. Some real surprises. I mean "surprises" - not lame "I as good as predicted this before I even watched the movie" surprises like Elecktra and Miranda Frost.
6. A real Bond girl, as oppose to an equal (which rarely often are and feel as shoe-horned in as the action scenes)
7. A brilliant score. Perhaps by a different composer?
8. The Gunbarrel. Has to be back at the beginning with the traditional opening blasts. Preferably with something a bit more original than an electric guitar for the "Monty Norman" bit!
9. Dame Judi to be retired (one way or another) as M, and a new perhaps more ambiguous M replace her.
9. A good theme song again. Last one was dreadful! Also Danny Kleinman must return!
10. No cheesy gadgets (but plausible ones are fine). No clunky one liners or forced dialogue. No horrendously forced or cheesy seduction scenes. Be nice to see a touch of romance - always prefer the more romantic entries (eg. FRWL, OHMSS, FYEO, TLD, CR etc).
11. I really want to see Daniel Craig in the snow. After overdosing on it during the Brosnan era, I now find myself missing it again!
12. Daniel Craig really upping his game again because people don't like the beard, don't like the clothes or his lack of shoes, they didn't like QOS etc etc!
13. A traditional Bond adventure, none of this Bond begins stuff again.
14. Probably loads more but those are off the top of my head. Oh, and "James Bond will Return" at the end!

A PTS completely irrelevant to the rest of the film
A bit more humour
A touch of the British eccentricity that populated the MI6 of the Connery/Moore era. Characters such as Q, Smithers and assorted Government Officials can, in moderation, still offset the glamour and sophistication of the rest of the film. Not necessarily to the extent of John Cleese, but a touch of very light comedy can go a long way to making a more rounded film.
A more relaxed Bond, that audiences could actually warm to. Craig has proved that he can act, so how about he now shows us that he's actually enjoying himself as well.
A shark pool. It's been far too long. Bardem would look great as a Largo-type villain, complete with swimming pool full of sharks to dispose of the failing henchmen
A coherent ending. Rather like the modern Dr Who, the finales of many of the Brosnan/Craig films ( CR excepted, I guess), have relied on lots of explosions, shouting and running about. I've had to re-watch them a couple of times to figure out what the hell has actually gone on. Which isn't necessarily a good thing
The name of the next film in the closing credits

Also also probably more for QOS (as it was suggested that he may be suffering from insomnia) him waking up with the literary bonds alternating hot/cold shower...cut to Daniels dilating blue eyes, Brrr
Dunno how it would work for this though...

What we have ended up with is less memorable bad guys, although Greene's demise in QOS is one of the best villain deaths ever, because it's so drawn-out and painful.

- More rich, exploration of locations, concentrating on one or two as the main ones for most of the film.
- A Head of Station, somewhere interesting in the world.
- James Bond's Chelsea flat! It's been a while, and what better way to mark the 50th anniversary of Dr No with a good nod that isn't lame and equally offers something new to the new film.
- The full, traditional Bond theme, triumphantly blasting out to the finale action sequence - dirty electric guitar and raw wailing trumpets a must!
- Equally traditional gunbarrel, opening the film with a sonic punch in the face!
- Major Boothroyd.
- Stick with the good old Walther PPK from QoS.
- Bond gambling/enjoying a passtime for pleasure. Craig did a brilliant job with the Solange scenes - somewhat Thunderball-esque. More please!

Agreed. Would love to see Bond enjoying a location, the way he seems to be having a good time in the Bahamas in Thunderball, despite the world crisis happening in the background! Bond's arrival at the hotel in India in Octopussy is another moment like this.
