DANIEL Craig will be launched straight into dangerous stunts on the first day's filming for the new James Bond film, codenamed Bond 23.
When shooting starts on November 7, the actor will have to switch from a Range Rover to a Jaguar – with both motors on the move.
Traders at central London's Smithfield Market are in for an exciting day as that's where the car chase is set to be shot.
Filming will then take place in Turkey, South Africa, Scotland and Pinewood Studios, Bucks.
After a lot of teething problems, it's good things are finally getting under way.
It's believed the film will eventually be titled Skyfall and it's due for release in November 2012.
Daniel Craig to be thrown straight into action!

A car chase through London would be very interesting. Especially if it were a riff on the Moonraker "chase" where Bond has to keep up with Hugo Drax while driving an under-powered car. It's a chase for Bond, but not for Drax. It could be a great scene if realised on film, especially if Bond has to try and anticipate where the villain will be going and take short-cuts to get ahead of him.

I would love for this to be true. I have always wanted to see Bond behind the wheel of a Jag.

How about the Moonraker chase, with Bond in an underpowered car? He could take a shortcut through the Market, maybe because he tried to anticipate where the villain would go and he turned out to be wrong, so he has to do whatever it takes to get back on-track and zips through the Market to head the villains off.Interesting news. From memory, there isn't a lot of space within the actual market to effect a full-blown car chase, so I presume the chase extends beyond it.

Generally a great way to open the film, although I'm afraid that it's very likely that they'll fall on a cliche scene.
Anyway don't forgett this is The Sun speaking.

Yes, this is "The Sun" speaking. As a rule of thumb, I wouldn't rely on the UK's red top tabloids for previews of Bond films. Have fun speculating by all means, but don't be surprised if the report is well wide of the mark!I'm guessing the Rover will be MI6's car. Bond will be onboard with a bunch of agents and on the other car, which will be driven by the baddies, we'll have a hostage or something. Bond will jump on the car and we'll have probably a fight like the opening of TLD.

Interesting idea, although I thought Bond 23 was opening in Istanbul.

Perhaps they will be using the interior of Smithfield Market as a double for the interior of the famous flea market in Istanbul, (also seen in From Russia with Love)?
And doesn`t the Indian company Tat tar, (sorry, not sure of the spelling) now own both Aston Martin and Jaguar? If so, then Ford would not be involved in any deal with EON, should EON wish to use either of these two cars in Bond23.

when the last time a Bond film feature London longer than approximately 7 mins at most, with Bond meeting with M, saying hi to Miss.Moneypenny, and going to Q? I guess TWINE? so I guess this car chase is very interesting!
Die Another Day included Graves' parachute jump and his brief press conference. That led to the Blades sequence (I know, a studio), then you had Brosnan walking a bit outside before heading down to the alternate MI6 entrance. Not an action sequence, but it showed London off to good effect.

Tata Motors Ltd. of India owns Jaguar and Land Rover. Tata bought those brands in 2008 from Ford Motor Co.
Aston Martin was sold by Ford in 2007 to a U.K. group that included some Middle East investors. It may do an initial public offering, but no date has been set.

Ford sold Aston Martin sometime in 2007, I believe.MI6 mentioned in their article that the Ford Motor contract expired with Quantum of Solace. Does this mean we won't get an Aston this time around? Was really hoping we'd get to see the DB5.

Lots of Bond films do. Even the Connery films - remember the start of GOLDFINGER? - though the definition of action has expanded since then.Specific info there. Looks like their just going to dive into ala Casino Royale's embassy fight.
If the contract has expired, there is nothing preventing them from re-negotiating. Aston Martin is owned by Prodrive, and it's probably in Prodrive's interests to have one of their cars in a Bond film. A lot of their image hinged on bringing the Aston Martin name back to sports car racing with the Aston Martin AMR-One Le Mans Prototype:MI6 mentioned in their article that the Ford Motor contract expired with Quantum of Solace. Does this mean we won't get an Aston this time around? Was really hoping we'd get to see the DB5.
And it's basically a thirty million-dollar anvil. It's about as aerodynamic as a submarine. It's so slow that they had to enter their older model - the Lola-Aston Martin B09/60 - into several races just to avoid the embarrassment of being beaten on a regular basis by cars in a lower racing class. So I'd say they need all the good press they can get.

It might not be bob-on, but The Sun has a more than a few contacts and often knows its stuff about showbiz stories. It may not be 100% correct but I wouldn't dismiss it, certainly.

As mentioned above, Ford had mostly sold off Aston when QoS was made - plus that chase had a load of Alfas in; so there seemed to be no big obligation to one company, even if a few Fords appeared elsewhere in the movie.
A deal with Jag Land Rover wouldn't be bad at all, though. It's perhaps not quite top-of-the-line enough for Bond, but I'm in love with the new C-X16 concept.

Like the AMR-One, the C-X16 is built by a racing team - Williams - that is facing a rough time. If they can't build a proper racing car when their entire point of existing is to race, then I wouldn't trust them to build a road car. It's perhaps not quite top-of-the-line enough for Bond, but I'm in love with the new C-X16 concept.

Don't be stupid; anyone that has the amazing technical proficiency to build a Formula One car; even one that doesn't win every race -and certainly one that doesn't come last- is hardly bad at building cars. F1 is the pinnacle of racing car development; even the lesser ones are still amazing cars.
And Williams isn't going to 'build' it.
Do they need a contract with prodrive to have the DB5 in the film? I´d like to see what happened to it since that casino affair Maybe they could just show it parked outside Bond´s Chelsea flat at King´s Road. Anyway, it all sounds very good to me, at this callow state of things. First Jag since Zao´s?
Wouldn't have thought so; it was in the films even when the deal with BMW was running.

Every bit of car tech has its roots in the racing world, from the turbos to the aerodynamics, gears, ... I´m not a super Williams fan, I´m not even a recent f1 fan (nothing like the good old days of it IMO), but I have to admit, every bit of engineering that finds its way into production, from the f1 world, marks quite the evolutionary step, for any brand.

The Williams FW33 is an embarrasment. When your car is so poor that the single most experienced driver in the sport - Rubens Barrichello, who will go into his twentieth season in 2012 - cannot give you any developmental feedback to make the car better, you know you're doing soemthing wrong.Don't be stupid; anyone that has the amazing technical proficiency to build a Formula One car; even one that doesn't win every race -and certainly one that doesn't come last- is hardly bad at building cars. Nope, but they helped design it.And Williams isn't going to 'build' it.
