in

THE DEATH COLLECTOR

A new Fanfiction Screenplay by
coco1997 & tdalton

COMING SOON

"The Death Collector" follows in the immediate aftermath of the events of On Her Majesty's Secret Service. Bond's wife, Teresa di Vicenzo, is dead at the hands of Blofeld and Irma Bunt. Seeking to pull Bond out of a downward spiral, M sends Bond on a seemingly easy assignment to South Africa to investigate the death of a British agent and dismantle the supposedly small-scale smuggling ring he was investigating. Meanwhile MI6 is searching for a man only known by the nickname "The Death Collector". Bond is angry not to be assigned to this case, but when he finds a link between the agent's death in South Africa and "The Death Collector", he begins his own investigation into the matter, which takes him from South Africa to Las Vegas, and puts him in league with a feisty diamond smuggler named Tiffany Case. Bond and Case square off against the Spang Brothers and a pair of psychotic female assassins in an attempt to dismantle the diamond smuggling ring and ultimately discover the identity of "The Death Collector"

About this Project

For the past several months, coco1997 and I have been working on a series of film treatments that serve as a series of re-imaginings of some of the films and novels in the Bond canon. We have gone into this looking to tell a story that spans over several screenplays, taking Bond on a journey from dealing with the death of Tracy to dealing with getting older and facing retirement. We began by creating this overall story and then finding ways to tie several original stories, which are based on or inspired by both Fleming's work as well as EON's, into this overall storyline.

"The Death Collector" is just the beginning of a larger series of screenplays, which will find Bond confronting some of his toughest opponents yet, both in the form of familiar villains as well as new villainous masterminds that will try to stop him for good.

We will begin to reveal the "casting" for this project within the coming days and will continue on with that leading up to the November release of "The Death Collector".

Being aware of the projects you guys have been working on over the last year or so, I'm very interested to finally see the results. Overall, sounds a very epic project.

It's been a really fun and interesting process. We've completed fully detailed treatments for the first five scripts in the series (this one, TMWTGG, TSWLM Part 1 & 2, and a very radical take on LALD that I'm very excited about), and, at least IMO, I think we've got a pretty good overall story arc flowing through the entire series that will be rather different from what we've seen done with the official Bond franchise.

Thanks. :)

I'm looking forward to going back through them and converting them into a screenplay format and trying to tie the overall arc of the series together in an even more effective way than it already is.

I'm going to start posting a little bit about some of the characters or other elements of the story, perhaps a little every few days, from now up until the script is complete.

As promised, a first look at some of the characters that will be featured in the screenplay.

DISCLAIMER: We are using the "casting" process as a means to give a visual representation of what the character might look like. Obviously, the actors and actresses are not affiliated with the project nor do we insinuate that they are anything like the characters they portray or were chosen due to any perceived similarities to their characters. In short, this is basically done for fun and no harm or offense is meant by it. :)

Anyway, back to the new characters.

The first two characters we'll introduce you two are two new characters, although they are based on a Fleming idea. Introducing you now to:

JADE (modeled on singer Jessie J)
Posted Image

KAYA (modeled on singer Yolandi Visser)
Posted Image

Jade and Kaya take the place of Wint and Kidd in this story, with their relationship coming across as slightly less ambiguous and vague than that of Wint and Kidd in the original Diamonds Are Forever. Jade and Kaya serve under the employ of the Spang Brothers, for whom they are "cleaners", working to clean up whatever problems the Spang Brothers want dealt with. For their efforts they are paid handsomely and are housed in a penthouse in the Spang Brothers hotel and casino in Las Vegas. They are both psychotic, enjoying their work to the fullest, taking great joy in dealing with the "problems" the Spang Brothers assign them to deal with. Both women are obsessed with diamonds, with just about everything in their penthouse being encrusted, or completely made of, diamonds.

Moving forward with more "casting" on the project.

Marc Ange Draco (modeled after actor Al Pacino)
Posted Image

Grieving father of Tracy. Plays a supporting role in this script, but will return later in the series.

Irma Bunt (modeled after actress/model Mini Anden)
Posted Image

A noticeable change from the previous film incarnation of Irma Bunt. We decided to make the character younger and more athletic, which will come in handy for her appearance in this script.

Bunt is the character that fired the shots that killed Tracy Bond. Bond's top priority heading into the story of "The Death Collector" is to hunt down Irma Bunt and use her to track down Blofeld, after which he plans to administer his own brand of justice.

The casting for this project will begin to ramp up the closer we get to the release of the script in November. The main Bond girl and villains will be announced at some point before the script's release.

Updating the thread with introductions to more of the characters as we get closer to releasing the script:

MR. SANGUINETTI
(modeled after actor Steve Buscemi)
Posted Image

An associate of Ernst Stavro Blofeld, Sanguinetti steps into the fold to help shepherd the remnants of SPECTRE into a new era. He recruits many new executive members from around the world, with a terrifying endgame in the works that will put Bond up against his most dangerous test yet.

SIMONE LATRELLE
(modeled on actress Dianna Agron)
Posted Image

Born in America to French-American missionaries. Moved to Brazil with her parents on a mission, where she began to realize that she had special "abilities". Unable to deal with their child's abilities, her parents abandoned her in Brazil at the age of 12, where she raised herself.

Her heightened intelligence, among other special abilities, led her to be noticed by Mr. Sanguinetti, who has recruited her into his inner circle to help lead his organization into worldwide dominance.

RAVEN
(modeled on actress Kelly MacDonald)
Posted Image

Sanguinetti's girlfriend and member of the executive council of his organization. Works closely with Simone on various assignments and plays a vital role in the organization.

To change up the approach to revealing information about the project, here's an attempt at a "teaser" of sorts for the script:

THIS NOVEMBER

JAMES BOND
Where is Blofeld?

IRMA BUNT
He's dead.

JAMES BOND RETURNS

SERAFFIMO SPANG
Hanging in the Town Square! Thirty minutes!

IN SEARCH OF

JAMES BOND
Where are we?

TIFFANY CASE
Hell.

RAVEN
Not quite.

THE DEATH COLLECTOR

Welcome to my humble island, Mr. Bond

In a couple of days, we're planning something of a preview of the script, where we'll post a scene from the story that will hopefully serve as a good teaser for what is to come.

We're also looking at a release of the script sometime during the week of Thanksgiving, hopefully around that Monday or Tuesday, although nothing is set in stone yet. The process of converting it from the treatment is currently under way, after which a proof-reading process will last for a couple of days.

Until then, to continue putting some information out about the contents of the script, another character introduction.

EDEN (modeled after actress Delphine Chaneac)

Posted Image

A DCRI (French intelligence) agent who is the world's foremost SPECTRE expert. Whereas Bond has spent his time tracking down Blofeld, Eden has spent hers trying to take out the organization from bottom up, making contacts with some of the fringe elements of the organization and learning how each section of the organization functions, where their resources come from, as well as the identities of some of the executives who meet directly with Ernst Stavro Blofeld.

Although she has never met James Bond before, she knows who he is and his history with SPECTRE. She was a part of "Operation Thunderball", and has been involved in several run-ins with members of SPECTRE that have culminated in significant gains in terms of intelligence on the organization.

Her tireless work to bring the members of SPECTRE to justice have been taxing on her personal life, with her marriage having long since ended and her relationships with her family strained due to her constant secrecy and moving around.

In The Death Collector, Eden is working closely with CIA agent Felix Leiter, trying to make some headway into infiltrating SPECTRE's interests in the United States. She views Felix as something of a mentor, having worked with him several times over the past couple of years. She and Felix meet up with Bond in Las Vegas, finding that their goals are very similar.

As promised, here is a small preview of the script. The final script will be delivered in a PDF format, as it will be easier to read in that format, but for the sake of storage space, this small segment will appear here in the actual post.

This small bit of the script comes directly at the beginning of the story and represents about half of the pre-title sequence to the story.

STUDIO LOGOS

EXT. MISSION BEACH, AUSTRALIA - NIGHT

JAMES BOND sits in a small, rickety, wooden boat. He appears only as a silhouette against light cast by the full moon overhead. The boat bobs up and down in the water in rhythm with the tide. He holds a fishing rod in one hand, but otherwise pays little attention to it.

Two guards walk along the beach. Bond peers at them through binoculars, seeing that they have registered his presence. They walk over to a small dock that is located tens of yards from their previous position and start the motor on the boat. The guards maneuver the boat in Bond's direction.

Bond sets his fishing rod down, resting it against the side of the boat. He discreetly reaches into the inner pocket of his jacket, retrieving his pistol. He quietly screws a silencer onto the end of the weapon as the boat carrying the guards makes it closer to his position. The boat pulls up to within a few feet of Bond's.

GUARD
What are you doing out here?

Bond does not answer.

GUARD
Did you hear me?

The guard, frustrated by Bond's noncompliance, steps off of his boat, boarding Bond's considerably smaller vessel. He grabs Bond by the shoulder.

GUARD
Listen, pal. You need to get...

Bond grabs the guard's wrist, breaking it instantly. Bond quickly stands up and spins around, drawing his weapon. He shoots the guard on the other boat first, watching as he falls into the water. He kills the guard on the boat with him second, putting a bullet square between his eyes. The second guard falls into the water. Bond watches as the two bodies float in the water. The water beside the bodies begins to turn red.

Bond climbs across to the boat used by the guards and pilots it back to the dock. He exits the boat and makes his way across the beach to the home off in the distance.

CUT TO

EXT. TRACY'S FUNERAL, TUSCAN COUNTRYSIDE, ITALY - DUSK

A small crowd is gathered at the burial site for Contessa Teresa di Vicenzo. Attending the service are MARC ANGE DRACO, M, FELIX LEITER, and JANE MONEYPENNY, amongst others. Large bouquets of flowers adorn each side of the closed caskett. The absence of James Bond is noticeable.

Several attendees of the funeral are crying. A large, painted portrait of Teresa stands on an easel next to the coffin.

CUT TO

INT. IRMA BUNT'S HOME, MISSION BEACH, AUSTRALIA - NIGHT

Bond steps into Bunt's home. The interior is dark, with the only light being the moonlight coming through the glass walls along the back of the home. Gun drawn, Bond makes his way silently through the corridors of the home searching for his prey.

CUT TO

EXT. TRACY'S FUNERAL, TUSCAN COUNTRYSIDE, ITALY - DUSK

The priest stands at the front of the funeral service, delivering his sermon. Bond's absence continues to be palpable in the audience.

M
Where the hell is he?

DRACO
I don't know.

CUT TO

INT. IRMA BUNT'S HOME, MISSION BEACH, AUSTRALIA - NIGHT

Bond reaches the far end of the home when he hears running water. He steps into a bedroom and sees steam pouring from a half closed bathroom door.

The running water stops. Bond steps into the corner of the room that is out of sight of the door. He is bathed in darkness and out of sight.

IRMA BUNT emerges from the bathroom. She dries herself off and then reaches for a robe. She displays an uneasy expression on her face, knowing that something is not right.

Bunt exits her bedroom and heads down the hallway. Bond follows her deliberately, making sure to remain hidden in the darkness.

She makes her way to the main living area that Bond had already traveled through. She pours herself a glass of Bourbon and then stands in front of the glass walls that face out towards the beach.

Bunt looks out at the water and sees that the bodies of the guards that have now washed up on the shore. She immediately knows what is happening. Bond steps into the room, the light coming through the glass walls revealing his face to the audience for the first time. Bond speaks to her for the first time. She drops her glass of Bourbon at the sound of his voice.

BOND
(menacingly)
Where is he?

IRMA BUNT
Who?

BOND
Blofeld. Where is he?

IRMA BUNT
He's dead.

Bond quickly closes the gap between them. Her back is still to Bond. He jams the end of the silenced pistol against the back of her head. She quivers slightly under the pistol before regaining her composure.

BOND
Why protect him? I'll make your death quick if you tell me where he is.

IRMA BUNT
He's dead. I watched him die. Your people have his body.

Bond is stunned by the news, giving Bunt an opportunity to take action. She throws her elbow back into Bond's face, breaking his nose. Bond fires his pistol once, the bullet missing Bunt and shattering one of the panels of the glass wall in front of him. Bunt kicks the gun out of his hand, sending it sliding across the wood floor. She lunges at Bond, knocking him to the ground. She straddles him and begins trying to choke the life out of him. Bond's face begins to turn blue due to the lack of oxygen.

IRMA BUNT
Don't fight it. You'll be with her soon.

Bond begins to lose consciousness.

Interesting.

Just curious if you had any feedback (either positive or negative)? Given that this is the first piece of fanfiction that I'll end up completing for the site, I'm always eager to get feedback from the more experienced authors on the site. :)

Now with the teaser of the script done, a few more characters to introduce as we get closer to the release of the script.

SERAFFIMO SPANG (modeled on actor Michael Stuhlbarg)
Posted Image

Seraffimo Spang co-owns a Las Vegas hotel with his brother Jack. He also runs a diamond smuggling operation out of South Africa that has proven to be very lucrative, which is all that he cares about in life. While his brother is significantly more outgoing and impulsive than he is, Seraffimo fancies himself as more of a level-headed, pragmatic leader of their crime syndicate.

DIANA (modeled on actress Diane Kruger)
Posted Image

Diana is a woman that Bond meets while investigating the Spang Brothers in Las Vegas. She spends her time in the casino, fancying herself as a socialite. She manages an invite to all of the big events that go on in the hotel/casino and presents herself as an easy-going free spirit, but she harbors a dark secret that could have severe consequences for Bond and Tiffany Case.

THE DEATH COLLECTOR
Posted Image

The man known only as "The Death Collector" operates a secret facility about which not much is known. He is believed to be involved in the deaths of many government operatives from the Western nations as well as others.

BRANDT
Posted Image

"The Death Collector's" middleman. He works with the Spang Brothers, but he does so from a considerable distance and in a capacity that does not reveal a single clue as to his identity.

The parts of "Brandt" and "The Death Collector" are very much like the characters in SkyFall, in so much as they are characters who we can tell you very little about and appear in scenes that we can't tell you much about. ;)

tdalton, I usually reserve feedback until I see the full work - be it outline treatment , screenplay, prose - as I believe it is important to see the complete arc of a piece before making any statements. Suffice to say I am interested. What I will say is that you are certainly brave in "reimagining" past adventures for James Bond. I look forward to the end product.

To continue with the lead-up to the release of the script, I should start off in saying that I'm sorry for the delay on this. The target date for releasing the script has already passed by and there's still some work to be done on it. Just a case of real life getting in the way of things as well as a desire to go back and make sure that this is the best that it possibly can be. Hopefully it can be ready to go here in the near future.

Continuing on with the reveal of the characters.

TERESA DI VICENZO
Posted Image
(modeled on actress Violante Placido)

Although the character of Tracy Bond is never actually alive during the actual timeline of this series, she plays an important role in several of the upcoming series of screenplays, including this one. She will appear in some scenes in this screenplay and will feature with varying degrees of frequency moving forward in this series. Her most prominent role will be in A Whisper of Hate, which is a more radical interpretation of Fleming and EON's characters and plotlines of Live and Let Die

ERNST STAVRO BLOFELD
Posted Image
(modeled on actor Arnold Vosloo)

The criminal mastermind behind SPECTRE and the one responsible for the death of Bond's wife. You'll have to wait to see just how much involvement Blofeld has in the proceedings of this screenplay, or any future ones, but it would be fair to say that he has a profound impact on the character arc that Bond begins to embark on in TDC.

As of right now, that is the plan. We had originally hoped for a Thanksgiving release, but that obviously didn't end up happening, unfortunately. We've ended up tinkering with the story a slight bit from the original treatment to try to connect the dots a bit more clearly and in a more exciting fashion, and that combined with other things going on in the real world away from the forums has caused a slight delay in the writing of the script on my end.

My hope is that we'll get the script for this project out sometime in the first half of December and then turn our attention to working on its sequel, which is loosely based on The Man With the Golden Gun.

Just as kind of an update, the delay on this is mainly due to the fact that we're just trying to make sure that everything with the script is up to par, as this story, more than any of the others, really lays the foundation for what is to come later on down the road, so it's really important to make sure that it gets done correctly. Obviously, I would have liked to have finished in November as originally promised, but hopefully the end product will be worth the wait.

Continuing on...

FELIX LEITER
Posted Image
(modeled on actor Jeffrey Wright)

James Bond's friend and counterpart in the American intelligence community. He currently is working with Eden (of French intelligence) in Las Vegas to look into the possibility of SPECTRE having interests in the city. He works closely with Bond to assist into the investigation into the Spang Brothers.

KRISTEN LEITER
Posted Image
(modeled on actress Julie Benz)

Felix's wife. In this script, she spends some time with him in Vegas, although she is completely unaware of what his true profession actually is. She thinks that Felix is a salesman of some kind and is in Vegas for a sales convention. A strong and intelligent woman who is a perfect match for Felix, she plays a small part here, but is an important figure heading forward in this series.

For an update, things are progressing. The forum downtime put a slowdown on the progress on the script as all of my notes for the treatment and outline of the story are stored on these boards, therefore I was unable to access them. I think we're still on pace for a release by the end of this month.

A couple of changes to what we've detailed so far:

EDEN (modeled after actress Delphine Chaneac)

Posted Image

We've decided to tweak this character a bit. In terms of how the character is different within the context of the story, that will be revealed over the course of the series, but the most important aspect of the changes to this character for now is that we decided to change the model for the character. The new character is:

EDEN

Posted Image

(modeled on actress Berenice Bejo)

Eden is an agent with French Intelligence, serving on a pay grade that far exceeds that of Bond or Felix. She is the world's foremost expert on SPECTRE and its operations. Whereas MI6 and the CIA have approached SPECTRE from a top-down approach, looking to decapitate the organization by eliminating Ernst Stavro Blofeld, Eden has taken the opposite approach, making contacts in the many lower levels of the organization, establishing relationships that have already served her well in her attempts to hinder the organization's operations around the globe.

Eden is highly distrustful of Bond, seeing him as a loose cannon on deck that can only hinder her efforts to bring down SPECTRE.

DIANA (modeled on actress Diane Kruger)
Posted Image

We felt that, while writing the script, that this character became a bit superfluous and that the actions taken by this character could be better served by being carried out by a character we had originally intended to introduce a bit later in the series. With that in mind, we've swapped "Diana" out of the script in favor of:

WILLOW

Posted Image

(modeled on actress Paula Patton)

Willow grew up an orphan, living mostly in the southern United States prior to her sudden move to Nevada for business. She oversees a legitimate mining company that is a front for the Spang Brothers' smuggling operation, but she is not what she seems.

Willow has a strong connection to Simone Latrelle, a character that we introduce in this story. What that connection is exactly will be revealed over the course of the series, but it now has its genesis in this story.

Now a few new characters we haven't detailed yet.

WILLIAM SPANG

Posted Image

(modeled on actor Jason Clarke)

The third Spang brother, William lives in the shadow of his two more eccentric, and less sane, brothers. He is often the voice of reason, saving Jack and Seraffimo from themselves when they act on their often dangerous impulses.

JANE MONEYPENNY

Posted Image

(modeled on actress Emily Blunt)

M's personal secretary. She maintains a friendship with Bond, although it rarely goes beyond some light-hearted banter in her office.

PETER FRANKS

Posted Image

(modeled on actor Adam Baldwin)

Franks is a small part of the Spangs' diamond smuggling network. He operates out of South Africa and is believed to be the last man to see Agent Double-oh Five alive, which is why Bond is sent to speak with him as part of his initial investigation.

PLENTY O'TOOLE

Posted Image

(modeled on model Miranda Kerr)

O'Toole is a socialite that Bond encounters in Las Vegas. She brings him luck at the gambling tables and later serves as a painful reminder of what Bond has lost.

Continuing on with the last bit of the casting for this project:

JACK SPANG

Posted Image

(modeled on actor Sam Rockwell)

Jack Spang is the wild card of the Spang brothers. He fancies himself as a ladies man, although he isn't, and he often clashes with his brothers regarding how to grow their businesses and fortune heading into the future.

TIFFANY CASE

Posted Image

(modeled on actress Amy Adams)

Tiffany Case is a small part of the South African leg of the Spang Brothers' diamond smuggling operation. She serves as the go-between for those who supply the diamonds and their buyers and often facilitates the smuggling of the diamonds to nations around the world should her clients request it. She gets caught up in Bond's investigation into the death of Double-oh Five, leading her from South Africa to Las Vegas after her employers disavow her and put a hit out on her as well as Bond.

SHADY TREE

Posted Image

(modeled on Danielle Colby Cushman)

Shady Tree represents the end of the smuggling pipeline, operating a pawn shop in New York City where she takes the diamonds and arranges payment for the smugglers. She is also Jack Spang's wife.

The rest of the casting for the project, such as the MI6 staff, which includes M and Tanner, are the same as they have been in the two Craig films, with Dench being the visual model for M and Rory Kinnear being the visual model for Bill Tanner.

Just wanted to update the thread, as it's been over a month.

The script is still a work in progress, which is the result of several factors. We retooled the story a little to try to fix a couple of areas that needed addressing, which has made it a bit more difficult to transition the story from the original outline to a completed script. I've also had some things come up in the last month or so that have necessitated my attention on other priorities, which has taken time away from the work that needed to be done here.

I hope to get this finished soon. When that will be exactly, I'm not sure, as I don't want to set an exact date that I may end up missing again (which has already happened a couple of times during this process), but most definitely in the next week or two you'll at least see updates in this thread detailing further notes regarding the direction this project is headed in, including the kind of title song we imagine the project will have and other such notes.

An update:

The scripting process has been fairly difficult to say the least, so coco1997 and I have decided to tell the story in a different format, something that is closer in structure to the treatment that we wrote for the story, although significantly more detailed. This "treatment" will feature a healthy dose of dialogue will be quite lengthy, so it's not really a "treatment" per se, but kind of a hybrid between a treatment and a script. It'll be more clear what I'm describing when we finally post the story.

Also, in the time that we've been piecing this together, the story has changed somewhat, to the point that we're releasing a new synopsis of the story to try to tease some of the changes we've made to the story:

Following the events of On Her Majesty's Secret Service, Teresa Bond is dead. So is Ernst Stavro Blofeld, the news of which James Bond learns from a violent encounter with his longtime assistant Irma Bunt. Emotionally spent and now unable to take revenge for the death of his wife, Bond enters a dark place in his life. He begins chain smoking and drinking heavier than usual, unsure of what to do with his time.

M comes to him with an assignment, an easy one. Agent Double-oh Two has gone missing in South Africa. He was on the trail of a diamond smuggling operation there, but has not reported in for days. Bond is insulted by the offer, instead wanting to investigate the elusive "Death Collector" that MI6, as well as the other intelligence agencies of the world, are all putting at Priority One now that Blofeld is believed to be dead. "The Death Collector" is believed to have abducted a British government agent, which causes M to refuse to allow Bond on the assignment, saying that he needs to prove himself a capable field agent again before joining the investigation, as the life of one of their own could potentially be on the line.

Begrudgingly, Bond takes the assignment in South Africa. He finds himself bored with the assignment, even after teaming up with the beautiful diamond smuggler Tiffany Case, until an interrogation of someone involved in the smuggling ring reveals a link between the smugglers and "The Death Collector". With the clock ticking, Bond faces off against powerful casino owners, a pair of psychotic female assassins, a mysterious figure known only as "Brandt", and a budding criminal organization with aspirations of taking the place of the now defunct SPECTRE.

I'm hoping sometime in the not too distant future. I'm reluctant to try to put a date or a specific timeframe on it as everytime I've done that so far I've missed the mark in pretty spectacular fashion. Probably the best thing I can say regarding a timetable for a release is that, with the new format we're going with, the writing process feels much easier now and I feel confident that more significant progress will be made in a shorter amount of time than what I was doing before.

I've finally got some news on the treatment for "The Death Collector" (better late than never, right?)

We've completed roughly 43 pages of the "treatment" (if you look at the treatments in the Ultimate Bond: Remakes thread you'll get an idea of how this will ultimately be structured, although these are slightly more detailed). These 43 pages will be, hopefully, ready for release this weekend. I'm aiming for sometime during the day Saturday.

The full treatment will probably be released in 3 parts, and those will come once they've been completed.

After a long wait, the first part of the treatment for The Death Collector is now posted in the Fan Fiction Posting subforum. Given that we've added some new characters since the initial casting was done in this thread, I'll include below an updated cast list as well as some other information about the project:

The characters that we added since the initial "casting" for the project are Loelia Ponsonby, whom is modeled on actress Emilia Clarke. There is also the mysterious "doctor" modeled on actor Mickey Rourke. Dr. Maloney also makes an appearance and is modeled on actor Benedict Cumberbatch.

If this were an actual film, the artist that we would have pursued for the title song would have been Lindsey Buckingham.

The type of song that would serve as a template for the original The Death Collector title track would be Buckingham's "I'm So Afraid":

"I'm So Afraid" - Lindsey Buckingham w/ Fleetwood Mac

Obviously "I'm So Afraid" would not be the title track for the project, but it would serve as the template for the kind of sound the title song for the project should have.
