Troubled singer Amy Winehouse has been found dead in her North London home, Sky News is reporting. Nick Buckley of the Sunday Mirror News reports that police have confirmed the passing.

The Grammy-winning singer, best known for her hit song, "Rehab," died of an apparent drug overdose. She's battled drug addiction for years, having most recently checked back into rehabilitation in May.

She was always touted as the next Bond theme singer if she could get her act together. I guess she never could.

"Shocking". Er...really? As in, this is a totally unexpected thing to happen to Amy Winehouse?

There will still be someone on this site who will insist she sings one.

Ah [censored]... :(
This afternoon, I was casting an eye over the news from a distance in an airport, with no sound and too far from the screen to read the headlines... between images of the Oslo blast, I saw some footage of Amy Winehouse singing on stage, and thought, "oh, at least some good news today, maybe she's pulled through and is coming back on stage and taking her career seriously..."

That's so sad.

I've never heard her perform. She lived a wild and controversial life and appaqrently had some potential as a performer. The passing of Ms. Winehouse wasn't exactly unexpected, but still shocking to me as I am enjoying the company of a girlfriend named Amy.
