I got my copy of FSS today after seeing this thread. It really is a lovely design.
I'm a bit appalled by those US covers for changing the typography though: the choice of fonts is what makes the cover.

Something is really strange about the "Role of Honor" edition of the new pegasus edition. if you look at the spine, it has the 007 logo, the title, then the author. In the previous released editions, the spine had the 007 logo, the author, then the title.

Is this a mistake?

Yeah, I noticed that as well, and covered it in my story about the release of these two books on my blog (thought I posted this here already?)
