Orlandobond and Mrs. Orlandobond, who organized last year's remarkable Operation Euro(07) tour of James Bond locations in Europe, have now designed yet another fabulous tour. This year it's Villains and Voodoo 2011, a tour that includes locations from five Bond movies in New Orleans, Key West, and Nassau.

The tour begins on August 19 in New Orleans, one of America's most atmospheric cities, where we'll follow in Bond's footsteps from "Live and Let Die," as he investigates the sinister Mr. Big and his connections to the world of voodoo. On August 20, we board the beautiful Carnival Triumph for a seven night cruise to Key West, Freeport, and Nassau. In Key West, we'll take in locations from "Licence to Kill," including the Hemingway House, Felix Leiter's home, and the Leiter wedding church. Nassau, of course, is one of the heartlands of Bond film activity. We'll see several locations from "Thunderball," including Palmyra, Largo's villa. We'll also see the Straw Market and the British Colonial Hilton from "Never Say Never Again." The tour also includes access to the Ocean Club from "Casino Royale," including a visit to Daniel Craig's oceanfront villa. The trip also includes shipboard activities, including a Texas Hold'em tournament, trivia contest, and Bond costume party, plus an opportunity to meet and mingle with some of the finest Bond fans you could want to meet.

The tour is close to capacity, so don't delay. You can find further information and book the tour on http://www.themepartypeople.com/site, or you can contact Orlandobond via PM.

I hope you'll join us for what promises to be another fantastic James Bond tour.

Thank you Major Tallon for posting this, as befits Commander Bond agents and readers, they have 95% of the spots taken on the tour- we're looking to close the bookings and if anyone wishes to go, we have room and we have some single men/lady who need roomates.

This year we will return to the 070707 access to Nassau sites, including a tour of the Palymyra home (very rare indeed), the One and Only Club (and if we are lucky like last time, the Bond Suite), we will have Vespers there, we will also visit the TBall Breakwater- note that there are also some surprise stops as well.

Key West, we will see all the LTK sites including a Vesper party at the Hemingway House and a chance to meet some of the crew that worked on the film.

New Orleans will be over the top as we will be not only seeing the LALD sites but recreate several sequences and have our usual welcome party madness.

On the ship, there will be the Texas HoldEm Tournament for large $$ and the annual BOND JEOPARDY pitting the best vs the best in Bond trivia.

Looking forward to another year with good friends and making new ones.

Make smoke!

For fans of the literary Bond, I'll also have a list of sites from Fleming, Gardner, and Benson for investigation on your own.

With a little more than a month to go, it's time for me to make good on my promise of posting literary Bond sites for our Villains and Voodoo tour. These are for "on your own" exploration for anyone interested and are in addition to the wonderful locales that are scheduled as part of the official program.

NEW ORLEANS
Bond has a balcony room at the Maison de Ville in the French Quarter and, perhaps not surprisingly, can be found checking out the bar (Gardner, For Special Services, chapter 22).

KEY WEST
Bond stays at the Pier House Hotel ("the only place to stay in Key West"); quite a bit of the hotel is described in Gardner's Nobody Lives Forever, chapter 14. He sees other sights of the city, including the Conch Train, Fast Buck Freddie's, Sloppy Joe's Bar, and Antonia's Italian Restaurant (NLF, chapter 16).

NASSAU
The easiest literary location of the trip is Prince George Wharf, where Bond boards the USS Manta (Fleming, Thunderball, chapter 19). Our cruise ship will dock there.

Nassau has a wealth of Bond locations, including a rare double location that featured both in a film and a novel. The British Colonial Hotel was Bond's base of operations in "Never Say Never Again" and was the hotel where Bond was staying at the time he was treated to the governor's story in "Quantum of Solace" (Fleming). Speaking of QOS literary locations, Government House is within easy walking distance of the dock and was the location where Bond briefed the Governor on Largo's activities (Fleming, Thunderball, chapter 12). It was also where the Governor related the story of the Quantum of Solace. After telling Bond the story, the Governor bade him good night at the gate (Fleming, QOS).

Other Fleming locations include the Nassau Police headquarers (Fleming, TB, chapter 14) and the "Domino trail" (my title for this little trek) (Fleming, TB, chapter 11). Domino encounters Bond when she drives down Parliament Steet onto Bay Street, meets Bond at the Pipe of Peace tobacconist (now sadly gone), drives him up Frederick Street to Shirley Street, and heads out past Fort Montagu onto the Eastern Road, where she relates the story of the Hero on the Player's cigarette packet. Alas, I can find no indication of the spot at Gunpowder Wharf where they talked.

There's also a Benson location in Nassau. The Governor of the Bahamas has retired and has a home out beyond the College of the Bahamas, on Thompson Boulevard. He's assassinated, and Bond chases the killer down Thompson, across Meadows Street, around St. Joseph's Catholic Church (Benson inadvertently calls it a Baptist church), into St. Bernard's Park. The killer escapes the park across a residential street and shoots himself when Bond corners him (Benson, High Time To Kill, chapter 1).

All of the foregoing locations, except Fort Montagu, are in reasonable walking distance of downtown Nassau.

In addition to this list, Orlandobond has a fabulous collection of other locales lined up on the trip's offical program. Mrs. Tallon and I are looking forward to it.

Hey guys I had a Tarot card reading the other day, here's what it revealed.

The silver haired one known as Volante, will arrive Thursday after the sun has dropped behind the New Orleans skyline.
He will be carrying the small package entrusted to him by Jeffery Deaver.
Although jet lagged, he will seek those that also reside in the 'Tall' building.
Alcohol will be consumed.
