Interesting to see that on Saturday 24th April, Channel 7 will be showing Dr No at 8.45pm in the prime movie slot.

Maybe it's the start of another Bond marathon?

Yep, just noticed this on Foxtel.

I've seen it a gazillion times on VHS, DVD and previously on TV, but I'm STILL going to watch this on Saturday.

I know the feeling. When a film is on television and I already have it on DVD - I think to myself, I could just get it out and not worry about advertisements. But if it wasn't on television, I wouldn't be thinking about watching it at that moment in the first place. So I just sit transfixed. I suppose I hate the idea of somehow missing out, with everybody else watching instead of me, when I'm meant to be a Bond fan.

I know what you mean! I did that with TWINE recently. I could have watched it on DVD but found myself watching the whole thing, including the annoying ad breaks.

To be different I'm going to watch it this time in B&W. I'm sure it'll play quite well in monochrome.

Just caught the add on 7.
Looks like they're going to show the whole lot. From Dr.No to Casino Royale.

I do that too! What's wrong with us?

That would have been interesting. Of course, I'm sure I watched it back in the early '80s before we got a color tv.
I'm writing this on Sunday nite, "Dr.No" screened last nite and I have to say that I think it was a better print than the DVD box-set that I have. Beatifully shot film, it still holds up pretty well these days, despite the clumsy rear projection during the car chase.
But the casino scene that introduces the character of James Bond still sends a shiver down my spine.

I didn't watch the whole film, but what I saw looked great on 7HD

Did they advertise a showing of FRWL at the end?

I finally saw some kind of promotion for this thing. It start off with clips of Craig-Bond and Moore-Bond playing cards, edited to appear opposite each other, before showing lots cuts from different Bond films. Then at the end it introduces THUNDERBALL, this week's movie.

Yeah, that's a pretty nifty promo. The pan from Craig to Moore appears almost seamless.

Up to Live and Let Die now. The few snippets I've seen have shown the Bond films to look stunning in HD. But for those longing to see the Bond pics in all their standard definition glory, 7TWO is beginning the marathon again, starting with Dr. No this Thursday.

The marathon is up to The Living Daylights now (they even screened Never Say Never Again!). One of my favourite movies starring my favourite Bond actor in his glorious debut. Been a while since I've seen it, actually.

Sadly, I'll have to give it a miss, as I will be watching my beloved Magpies, as they hand the "not-quite-the-greatest-team-of-all" from Geelong the hiding they deserve in the AFL.

Actually, we don't see Tim Dalton on TV that much here in Oz. Sad really.

EDIT: Film begins at 8:50PM AEST, On Channel 7 and 7HD.
