I wanna first say i actually enjoyed Quantum of solace the game it wasn't bad. That being said I think we all have a wish list and since we have a "your bond 23" thread and a "What kind of novel do you wanna see next" thread i figured let's start one discusing bond in video game form.

For me there are 4 things i want

1. Multiple ways though a level. In watching the recent Splinter Cell Demo

( Seen here)

I like that in conviction (from what they say and what i can see) there are numerous ways in out of say a particular location I'd like to see that in Bond game (we saw a bit of that in Night Fire)

2. Stealh. Look i realize Bond isn't Batman or splinter Cell but even in the film he isn't just blowing things up occasionaly he is sneaking around would like to see a few good stealth levels (where u can blend in with the shadows and your suroundsings maybe at a casino B))

3. Card game thorw it in as a mini game i don't care i just think it would be cool to play Baccrat or Texas Hold em as bond

4. Drving Levels would be fun Perhaps they can utlize this with my multiple ways though a level for example you have to chase after a guy in a city u can take a care (he is on foot pakouring though the level) or u can free run after him.

That;s all i can think of now and i'd prefer Daniel Craig doing the voice.

- 3rd person shooting

- Sandbox style levels - with far less scripting

- The ability to drive around town, go to airports to travel across the country and globe, go on taxis, trains, pick up Bond girls, and communicate with contacts, girls and villains (i.e. like the sims and FC2 where by talking to them, you can choose several answers, and assertions, with each leading to a different consequence.

- The use of multiple vehicles and modes of transport

-The ability to gamble, and win money in games.

- And adoption of a classic Bond film such as Thunderball, Dr No, Goldfinger, OHMSS, TLD etc….

Maybe even a Bond RTS?

I'd like to see the camera handled more like in MGS3: Subsistence/MGS4 -- third person, adjustable, and capable of switching to first person if you want, sometimes automatically (such as when you use a sniper rifle). I feel it would be an improvement over the QoS cam. Mostly because I suck at FPS, but also because I found I was using the cover system more than anything else in the QoS game. Maybe just cause I'm a coward and tried to pick enemies off from afar or with stealth, but still, I found I was using more third person than first. The First Person was really only when I was moving around.

Camera aside, I'd like to see an open-world sandbox style realm that covers a lot of territory. Like, a full grid-by-grid recreation of Istanbul. Maybe even with the ability to drive out of the city into parts of the countryside. Istanbul just being used as an example here, ftr, any city/locale would do. I'd also like it to be treated a bit more GTA/NMH. Certain objectives you absolutely have to get done and at times you have no choice but to follow the story, but lulls in the action where you can just sort of do whatever you very well please and take on side jobs. I'd also like to see a costume system, similar to the FRWL game, but better. FRWL, I get the tux and try to go back to earlier missions and change into it, I can't. I'd like to be able to change and maybe even customize different outfits no matter how late into the game I unlocked them vs how early into the game this mission is.

Still wouldn't surpass GoldenEye in the eyes of many, but that would be my favorite Bond game by far as long as the plot is solid and the acting is solid.

a game where bond can actuall swim. I don't believe bond has ever been allowed to swim (save for TND but i never played that)

like i said i'd like for a spilnter cell typ game perhaps just for a level their are numerous ways to get into a partiuclar building and it is up for the gamer to choose (sneak in shot in etc) and their are various ways to even sneak in (though the alley way up to the roof in the back perhaps under the buiklding swiming though a vent shaft)

would be awesome

I do know this, no racing. I mean is where all you do is drive. Yeah, it fun but gets old real quick. I'd like to see 3rd or FPS with driving in the game. QOS was absent on that one. And also the actors voice and likeness talents...

I know. I highly doubt all the water is electrically charged. In the games, whenever you make contact with water, you die. Are they implying James Bond cannot swim?!

Perhaps his years with Her Majesty's Navy were spent on a landlocked base?

- 3rd person shooting

- Free-roaming. Lets have multiple ways to get through levels such as running through blowing everything up, or quietly going through unnoticed or even pretending to be one of the guards and be given points on how "Bond-like" it was.

- Multiple vehicle choices. Should also be free roaming. No matter what the level, you choose the vehicle (like the third level of EON where you can choose the bike instead if you want)

-Card game mini games.

- Unlockable mode if you complete the game to play as another Bond ( a fannish request i know, but it'd but it'd be so cool).

-Actors voicing their own characters (All games since EON have pretty much done this anyway)

-Massive muti-player. I'm thinking like Goldeneye or Nightfire but in thrid person. Also Co-Op mode, the one in EON was great, twas a shame EA never used it again. Activision should put it into a future Bond game.

-Original plot line. Having it tied directly to a film automatically gives it a stigma and they're beaten before they start, they should make it an original plot and get actual actors to do the supporting roles alongside Craig, Dench, Wright etc.

Basically i think every game has always got something right, now its time to put it all into a new Bond game.

I agree on most of these thhings

Perosnally I'd like the game to be written or at the very least the story of the game to be writeen by Someone familiar with the bond franchise Michael G Wilson perhaps or Purvis and wade.

Personnaly I'd call the game 007 in new york (it sounds like a video game title more then a film title anyways) and have it reference Quantum and CR (perhaps maybe with a flashback level to port au prince hait or the Casino Royale embassy) but for the most part it's a new game primarily set in NYC where bond has to find unconver infiltrate and stop a Quantum cell with Mr White being the head honcho of the quantum cell.

Almost like a a mini story between QOS and Bond 23. But one that if say u don't see u can still pick up Bond 23 .

I think that would be cool.

Plus I keep going back to Batman arkham Asylum and Splinter Cell Conviction as my sort of how it would be done. Both involve a sort of sand box type elemtn where u can exploire the entire area and there multiple ways in and out of an area. Bataman arkham asylum goes one step further and brought in Batman writer Paul Dini to write the game (as well as bringing in voice actors from the animated series which i love) I just think it would be cool rather hten have soem game writer come up with an over the top plot(EON) or have a writer decide which bits of the film would work best. Bring in someone who knows bond and can say

"lets have a level at a casino and you have to get to the roof of the casino to listen in to a conversation of quantum members now you can do this different ways u can play in the casino to win enough money to bribe gaurds you can sneak in either from the outside or inside or you can just grab a machine gun and kill everyone and then interiogate the last living member of the meeting."

no video game writer would dream of that cause he's thinking "well what interms of gameplayablity can our designers do" MGW or Bruce fernstien or Purvis and wade etc. Are thinking what will apease the bond fan most just shooiting up a place or getting to do different things as 007like play cards and use stealth.

but then again just my 2 cents.
