I think we haven't discussed this before. But which Bond film do you consider as most romantic in terms of love and drama? And which Bond film is the least romantic?

While the obvious answers for the most romantic Bond movie are going to be OHMSS and CR, I think TLD is the most romantic. It actually has Bond slowly romancing the Kara where in both OHMSS and CR is just sort of happens.

Least romantic, probably Moonraker. Bond just sort of slept with women and there never seemed to be any romantic bond (pardon my pun). DAD would be another one.

There is a good reason why OHMSS is the obvious choice.

OHMSS! Every time I see that falling in love montage with "We Have All The Time In The World" playing I get choked up.

I think they all have elements of romance, but for me, it's probably Casino Royale. It's certainly the best one for watching with your significant other. My girlfriend said she liked it above other Bond films mainly because of the romantic elements.

On Her Majesty’s Secret Service would be the most with Casino Royale coming in second on my list.

First film that popped into my head was The Living Daylights. OHMSS had a courtship montage, then Bond running off and sleeping with other women, then BAM! marriage. A great film, but I think they could have done a better job with the romance angle.

In The Living Daylights there's a lot more scenes of just Bond and Kara and they had good chemistry. I adore the amusement park scene, it's adorable and Tim had a great passionate side that I don't think he gets nearly enough credit for.

The ones that spring to mind are OHMSS, CR and TLD, which all really feature one main Bond girl who Bond feels genuine affection for.

The other one I always think of is FYEO. Bond doesn't seduce Melina until the final moments, and there is a wonderful scene in Cortina, where 007 persuades her to return to Greece, while romantic music plays in the background. It's a great scene, and even the horse & carriage driver says "Ah, amore!"

I think you don't know what the difference is between seduction and romance.

When Bond has sex with Manuella in their hotel room in Moonraker. Bond is so romantic in that scene all he has to do is pull off her belt and she sleeps with him.

I'm torn between OHMSS & CR.

Just after those would certainly be TLD, though, IMO.

Nah AVTAK has the edge. When he's in that iceberg/submarine thing, he pushes a lever to make her fall over, and then climbs on top of her and undoes her zipper. Oh, the romance!

Oh, and my list:

1. OHMSS
2. CR
3. TLD
4. QOS
5. FRWL
6. FYEO
7. TSWLM

Perhaps we should open a thread called "Bond the date-rapist."

I'm sorry, I know that's not a subject to be making fun of...dating.

Dude, calm down.
I agree with him. In all fairness, there's nothing romantic about a wall to wall action film like that.

and If he doesn't like it, he doesn't like it. Don't hold it against the guy. I can understand why.

Yeah I agree with that one. I actually like how Moore downplayed his performance for Bond, not having to show-off to the grieving Melina with those witty one-liners. I thought that Moore and Cassandra Harris' character showed good chemistry as well.

OHMSS is the obvious choice, but I think TLD is up there too, with the amusement park scene coming to mind immediately.
