I wouldn't mind if Dame Shirley came back for one more song. It would be a nice way to round off her contribution to the franchise.

I agree.

I also think that it might be rather nice to have an instrumental again at some point.

If David Arnold will write title song (used it in film and choose perfomer by himself, certainly) - to me all the same who will sing this song. I trust to David B)

Oersonally I'd Like to see what he would do With a more Orchestral type preformer. Namely I'd like to see his work with Chris Squire, Alan Whie, Oliver Wakeman, Steve Howe, and Benoit David in other words

I want to see him work with

I believe it will be a recognized BIG act, with a much more mainstream tune than Jack White's last effort.

Watch out for Duffy, or Amy Winehouse

Bit too bad they're going for mainstream. People who did this fanmade theme are very good, I think:

Wow, sorry guys, but i've never read so many bad, or dull ideas in one place.

Agent 76 suggested Depeche Mode... I'll agree with that - excellent choice; their stuff is already highly cinematic.

But i wouldn't be using 'Warrick Avenue' as a Duffy example! Terribly annoying song - 'Rain on your Parade' is much more Bondian.

Not necessarily Bond 23, and I may well be shunned by some folks for this, but I admit I find the Martin Fry-David Arnold pairing cover version of Thunderball drastically better than the actual Tom Jones version. Short form: Martin Fry sometime in the future, please.

Great work, truly could have been a classic main title (did the girl actually hold back her laughter???). Alas, I think times have changed and I doubt we'll see something like this in the near future.

As for the main title song, how about 'Reign' by UNKLE?

This is a great Depeche mode song entitled, It's no good.
The video is rather cheesy, but it's a great song. If you skip to around 3:09, It sounds like the Bond theme.

I think Micheal Buble is the right choice. Or maybe a duo with Dame Shirley and him. That would be great.

How about Pink Martini. They are hardly mainstream, but do a wide range of styles.

Listening to Muse's new album, they would make quite a good song for a theme, would suit Craig's Bond.

Anyone else think that the Dresden Dolls might be good for a Bond tune? Good dramatic stuff, left of field but sort of 'known'. I met them once and mentioned it -they seemed a bit surprised (not sure if in a good or bad way!) but thought they'd never be asked.

Or Iron Maiden. Or both of the aforementioned together...

I think THEM CROOKED VULTURES could, at the very least, produce something interesting. They're a supergroup, and going by all reports and concerts, they're the first since Cream who haven't sucked and sound like the sum of their parts: Josh Homme (Queens of the Stone Age), Dave Grohl (Nirvana, Foo Fighters) and John Paul Jones (Led Zeppelin).

Of course, if they did do a Bond theme, it might be outside their intentions of selling themselves based on musical merit as opposed to their names.

Muse are a possibility. As are the Killers or Kaiser Chiefs.

YES were at their height in 1977. I would bet my house that they will never do a Bond theme.

I have the perfect band to preform the title song. The band is My Morning Jacket. They are the best band out there and Jim James has an amazing voice. Ithink that could be amazing.

Awful idea. The American James Blunt.

I think Micheal Buble is the right choice. Or maybe a duo with Dame Shirley and him. That would be great.

Buble?!

Another awful idea. Not sure I want a Bond song performed by someone who has made a career impersonating others.

3.09 minutes in is surely a bit late to sound like a Bond theme isn't it?

Martin Fry sometime in the future, please.

No cache. The song needs to sell to more than just British mums in their forties.

Bit too bad they're going for mainstream. People who did this fanmade theme are very good, I think:

On grounds of artistic taste, I beg to differ. Awful track. When a Bond title wannabee doesn't know what to do with a song other than make it sound "Bondian" they really shouldn't bother.

thsi sounds a bit more bondian.

Note to everyone : Bond title performers do not get the gig because a few seconds here and there on previous Bond-unrelated tracks sound a bit "Bondian". Have a look at the back catalogue of most of the Bond title crooners. They are chosen for their vocal character and cache not because their music sounds like a crap Bond computer game.

That is my mistake. His song output is his.

And maybe he should stop pitching his songs and videos as if he was the American James Blunt - which is sort of worse.

Whatever his nationality is, he sings atrociously with a passion embarrasingly incongruous to his coffee shop lyrics.

Incongruous? Why is that?
