Wow. Extraordinary news, if true.

I hope they'll film a performance and put it out on DVD. I can't see myself flying to New York to catch it. B)

Oh dear... and there was me wondering what play to take in when I am next in New York... sold!

I imagine Craig and Ms B will be working on BOND 23 in Manhattan during the day... did I say that out loud? (!).

I suppose theres a tiny chance (a very tiny chance. a chance so tiny only ants can see it) that they might transfer it to the West End after New York. Although I suppose that particular cast might have other things in their diary.

I was idly thinking the other day about what a sensation it'd be if Craig did a Patrick Stewart/ David Tennant and joined the RSC for a production of Macbeth or something. It'd sell out in milliseconds.

Well, I saw Timothy Dalton with Vanessa Redgrave in A Touch Of the Poet in the West End between his Bonds, so history might repeat itself.

I always remember seeing Roger Moore in his seventh year starring in ASPECTS OF LOVE... superb singing voice...

Sean Connery is allegedly playing Baron Hardup in the Woking New Vic's production of CINDERELLA alongside Vicki 'ALLO ALLO' Michelle, MIKE YARWOOD and that elderly actress from EMMERDALE. I might get tickets...

Yes "A Number" in 2002 with Michael Gambon. This seems to be a sure bet, got rave reviews when playing in Chicago.

A Steady Rain now being performed at the Royal George Theatre on Halsted is once again garnishing rave reviews thanks to a story line that is always in motion and an emotional portrayal of two Chicago cops played by Randy Steinmeyer and Peter DeFaria.

Daniel was nominated for some awards for that play, Evening Standard? Ironically enough, I had a chance to go to that play but gave the tickets away.

Don´t know about Hugh, but this surely is exactly what DC is always looking for. I have read several reviews etc by now and it sounds intriguing indeed.

Denny (Randy Steinmeyer), a tough Chicago cop, describes the deadness he sees in the eyes of criminals. It shows their numbness to desperation and pain, what allows them to commit acts of violence and brutality. In Keith Huff's superb "A Steady Rain," currently playing at the Royal George Theatre, we see that deadness creep into Denny's eyes as well, allowing him to justify the increasingly horrific things he does. The play is the tragedy both of a man unable to recognize his increasing similarity to the criminals he stalks, and the inability of his best friend and partner Joey (Peter DeFaria) to stop his slide.

Huff's play was produced last fall at Chicago Dramatists to such acclaim and success that it was picked up by commercial producers for a run at the Royal George, with an eye towards a future New York life. Though I missed the first ten minutes of the performance due to a scheduling mishap, I think the show is well worth seeing in its current incarnation, and certainly deserving of future productions.

The plot shows us how Denny and Joey got to be who they are, and the long, rainy summer when their lives unravel, due both to circumstance and their own actions. The acting is extraordinary. Steinmeyer lets us see with uncommon honesty and intensity into the mind of a man who truly believes, despite the evidence, that he is doing the right thing for his family and his city. DeFaria shows us a man realizing, with mounting horror, what his friend has become and always was, and unsettled by what it shows him in himself.

Some elements of the plot may strain credulity, but overall this is a moving and gripping production that looks beyond the stereotypes to show us real people, trapped by their fates and themselves.

Sounds good. Seeing the two of them on stage would be a treat.

Funny, but a few weeks back, I was spending the evening with Miss Sterling and we were talking travel and I mentioned that I wouldn't mind getting back to NYC in the fall and maybe "taking in a show" if there was anything that caught my eye on Broadway.

Might have to give it some more serious thought now.

I presume she's gotten over the thing about Jackman not being "masculine enough" then

And hopefully, successful Broadway run = movie adaptation

Of course, one of the few unusued Fleming titles is.... *drumroll* ...007 IN NEW YORK.

However, we now have confirmation from Michael G. Wilson that BOND 23 won't be with us till 2011, so....

Maybe Keith Huff will write the next Bond?

Edit:

Here Huff talks about how Fred Zollo (Bab's husband) is a 50% shareholder, and Huff mentions at the end that it would be cool to see Daniel Craig in the play.
