Ok, considering there will be an international fan meeting in 2 years, where should it take place? Please only vote after having read this thread and the different opinions and advantages and disadvantages. And please only vote if you're interested to take part in such a meeting.

So where should it be?

Way to go Tim. I tossed my hat on the rack for the UK.

I voted for somewhere in Asia. China would probably be the best choice.

I had to vote for the UK. It's the most obvious choice. Plus, I've wanted to go there for a while.

I voted Australia (not just because I live here), it's a great place with plenty of room :) but mostly for tourists it is really cheap. Making it easy for eveyone. UK money and US are about DOUBLE here. And some staff are here too :)

England, France or Germany would do for me.

No offense, but North America and Australia are too far away (for me).

I gotta admit...I voted for the US because I have a feeling it might make traveling easier for the folks from Austrailia / Asia, especially if we do it on the West Coast. If we do that...my guess is the maximum travel time for anyone would be fifteen hours.

I'd urge everyone to vote Great Britain.

It's the first meet up, it's the country where Bond heralds from, and its the perfect location for the first major fan meet up.

Please please vote GB :)

Your urging appears to be working, Britain has 55%.

I agree that England should hold the inaugural meetup.

The second should be held in Jamaica.

I would vote USA, but every time I try, a bulletin message comes up:(. Why USA? I hear you ask. Its perfect, I know about Bond being from UK, and I'm from the UK aswell, and I know about USA being too far away etc, but the only thing Im thinking about is the lack of room we have over here:o

Hear hear! UK should be the place for the first meet-up!

As Dan said, it's where Bond heralds from - a prime location.

And to further it along, I agree with Blofelds Cat. Any second one (presumably in 2007 if the first one is worked on) should be in Jamaica!

Okay, I'll go out on a limb here.

If we pull off the first one and go for a second in 2007 (Bond year, Bond's 45th anni and my 40th).

If it's in Jamaica - I'll rent Goldeneye for a week!

Let's just worry about getting this first one up and going.

But of course we'll worry about the first. But sometimes you gotta grab a good suggestion and bare it in mind :)

Now, I wasn't aware one could rent GoldenEye. If that's the case, I'm going to do that sometime too!

I believe Goldeneye is about $6000 a night to rent. They've also built more cottages on the property which I think are rented out at a cheaper rate.

The whole compound and property (including two private beaches and staff) is $8000 a night in the off season (Apr.-Sep.) and $10000 the rest of the year.

It's quite beautiful.

LONDON CALLING!!!!

Keep it going everyone.

btw - The GE estate has come down to $6000 a night. There are a total of nine bedrooms - 3 in the main house - 3 guest cottages (Vesper - 3 bedrooms, Tatania - 2 bedrooms and Soliatire - 1 bedroom). Meals are included but booze will cost you.

Divided by nine is $666 a night per person...I've spent more than that per night in Vegas.

Let's focus on London though. Just an FYI.

How about Charlie's or my room aboard the Queen Mary this August? We have dozens of fans already set to meet there for the sixth annual Bond Weekend.

See SpyFest.org for the details.

It would have to be in the UK at Pinewood Studios. Even though I am American, that is where it really should be. We should also look at getting some celebrities for the meet.
