So here's a little discovery I made about the availability of the DMC Bentley Special Editions. While it's true the UK stock sold out in 2 hours (as was widely reported), that was NOT the full 300. It was only 200. One hundred copies came to the US and went on sale on June 2 at randomhouse.com and, as far as I know, copies are still available at the $1500 cover price.
Yes, I know $1500 is a lot of moola, but consider that copies on eBay are selling for $3000+ and booksellers on ABE, etc. are asking over $4000+.
You can still get a Bentley Special Edition at cover price

This is true they are available. But you must live in America and have American address details. Random house will not sell to customers in the UK. If you go to the trouble of getting one via a friend who lives in America it might cost you around £1000 or more to get one.
(Flipping worth it though)

Thanks for the heads-up, Zencat! I wish they would have set aside a US stock for the other limited edition though. I'm still irked about missing out on the Hatchards sale, despite having bought from them before.

Quite. I was completely shocked when I'd heard the entire stock and completely sold out in as fast as it did.
